Just eat 1 or 2 a day, plan it or whatever. No need to deprive yourself. I bought 3 boxes and they're gonna last me a long time. And if they don't they fit into my macros anyway.0

If you bought them, and you don't want them just pawn them off on someone else.0

I want to get hit up for GS cookies. I was a girl scout until I was in college. I LOVE cookie season.0

See how long you can make them last. Make a game of it.
Or allow yourself only one per day. Have some fun with it. Don't make it something dreadful. Mine lasted all the way to July (6 boxes).0 -
my kid is selling them this year, i wass obligated to buy!!0

I offered to buy four boxes... any flavor... IF and ONLY IF the little girl scout would donate them. I gave the family ideas such as taking them to an old folks home, mailing them to soldiers stationed overseas, and so on. They LOVED the idea. I LOVE showing my support, but I don't want it on my lips or my hips.... hahaha...0

That is so sweet! I'll be sure to think of this next time a little girl comes by and offers me some. Brilliant idea, no clue why I hadn't thought of it before.0 -
Thanks to this topic, my husband has ordered me a box of thin mints...0

No problem. Happy to help!! :flowerforyou:0 -
We put them in the freezer and have a few. I have to support the girls in my school, but I could have just donated money now that I think about it. However, I know I will stay on track more if I will allow myself to have a few on the weekend. I also ordered some to share with my students.0

only eat the serving size. they last forever (mine lasted over ayear in a sealed container) and they're only 150 calories for the serving size. that way you can enjoy them EVERY day. instead of in one day then have a sour stomache and alot of guilt/=0

Everything in moderation!!!!!!0

I do what I do every year. I always order a ridiculous amount from my 3 nieces. I keep a box of my fave, and give the rest to coworkers. I don't freak out about gs cookies though, or any junk food. I mostly keep it healthy. if it's something I really want, and I have the calorie allowance, I'll eat it. if I don't, I pass.0
-
Yummm! Samoas are the best cookie ever, I can't wait to buy some I'll just have to have no more than one serving a day....0
-
I bought some from my neice and when they came in I told my neice and sister to deliver them to a soup kitchen, hospital or to someone less fortunate. I would have but if they came in the door I would have morphed into the cookie monster.0
-
I bought them from my neighbors daughter. When I get them they are going straight to my local food pantry0

I like this idea. I know a couple other posters have mentioned it as well. donating sounds better than giving to my coworkers0 -
I am a Girl Scout Leader of 20 girls Next week I will have a garage full of 287 Cases of cookies!!! Talk about will power!!!!! Man this is going to be hard!!!!0
-
My daughter is a Spark and we cookie blitz twice a year and I've noticed that there's some people who don't want to or can't eat the cookies so they just donate the money to support the girls. Maybe next time that could be a thought? Either that or bring them to a friends party or something that way you don't eat much. They can also be frozen.....I know the mint ones anyways.0
-
I give a donation and let them have the full donation rather than buying cookies form a company that rips off the girl scouts. Plus do some research as to what is in the cookies. That will keep you from eating them.0

I agree- and since the ingredients are pretty bad, I wouldn't feel any better donating them to someone else to eat.0 -
The Samoas (with their delicious dark chocolate) were so much better than the new Caramel Delites. Don't misunderstand, the Caramel Delites are still good, they're just not as good.
Where I live we still get the delicious Samoas.
ewwww, old cookies.
Pfft, who am I kidding...I'd take some two-year old Samoas over the fresh Caramel Delites.
ETA: And for what it's worth, my wife has been neighborhood cookie chair several years. You'd think moving 800 cases of cookies into and out of your basement would make you not want to eat them...but you'd be wrong.
I just have to put this out there - the cookies differ from council to council (slightly - ex. the Samoas and Carmel Delites). My daughter's council has all the "real" cookies (Samoas, etc), whereas my co-workers daughter is in a neighboring council and they are selling the "other" cookies. There are different bakers for the cookies.......0 -
DH (age 74) is old enough to remember when the Girl Scouts actually baked the cookies themselves instead of "outsourcing" it.0
-
I love the cookies but don't have to have them0
-
You could have donated to the cause and not bought any cookies.0
-
I allow myself one box a year. Eat one everyday - work it into my day until they are gone...0
-
I don't know how I'm going to resist them when they come in.
Anyone else with this dilemma?
When they come around to sell them, I tell them, "I'll give you a donation (I usually give half of the price of two boxes of cookies) but I don't want the cookies." They are usually happy to accept the donation since it relieves them of having to transport the cookies back to me. Everybody's happy. :happy:0 -

OMG these ARE the devil! At least we can put the Thin Mints in the freezer and forget about them for a while....0
