I'm 22 years old, 5'7" and I started around the end of December 2011. I weighed in at 261 pounds!!! so I had alot to lose. I started going on daily jog/walks and exercising daily!. I also used MFP to track my food!. I eventually got down to 170 pounds and ran my first 10k race!. I have alot more to say about my story so if anyone has questions or would like to add me, go ahead!!.

Well I started out making sure I had written everything out on paper!. I made a weight loss chart with the dates I would weigh in on every Sunday. Then I would write out a workout plan. When I first started it would be something like "Monday:Jog & Power90 workout, Tuesday Jog & jumping jacks, then more power 90." Something like that. It's important to write down a weight loss chart to see your progress and a workout plan to know what you are going to do every day of the week!. For my diet, I started with portion control. I would eat smaller portions of everything, I would also read the nutrition facts before ANYTHING went into my mouth lol. I drank lots of water too!. An example of my daily meals would be like this "Breakfast: 1cup of original Cheerios with a sliced up banana, about a couple hours later I'd have a small snack like an apple or a nutri grain bar then Lunch: Lean cuisine meal, String cheese and an apple. For dinner I'd have something very similar. I'd have a Healthy Choice meal with a String Cheese and 1 cup of V8 Original and a nutri grain bar and then no food after 8. I consistently ate like that for about five months and I had lost around 80 pounds with a cleaned up diet and plenty of exercise!.0

Just make sure you are consistently running every day. Don't push yourself too hard because you don't want to get injured before the race!. About a week before the race drop your miles down to maybe about 2 or 3 miles the week before, depending on how you feel. Races are really fun and you will be very excited to be there!. Your adrenaline will be going so don't worry about if you will make it to the finish line or not! Just enjoy the race and the people cheering you on!. Pace yourself and don't push too hard on the first couple miles! and you'll be fine!!!.0 -
