Thanks Andrew - great looking results.

Sorry you are feeling under the weather - I think there might be something getting all of us on the east coast..

How about a "no sweets" challenge going into the week before passover/Easter.

I need to stop eating the junk (like the pie I just inhaled), or I'll never see the big improvements I want.

So for this week - no refined sugars!! You know where they are - if it melts in your mouth, it is no good.

    Cheers friends.. Janie

I'm cool with the no sweets. Oddly, I got right back into it this time, no sugar shakes or anything. It's amazing it was so easy to get back on board after the crazy amount of sugar I was injesting.

Although, right now I could chew my arm off. I've been hungry since I finished dinner. I sat there wanting more but got up and walked away. I hate days like that! I was thinkiing of Marla only eating 1200 calories. I'm chew my arm off hungry and I ate 1800!

well, I caved a bit, Lori, on the exercise cals-- I ate 2/3 of 'em today-- I'm hungry.

Had a killer dance workout again-- oh my gosh.

    Later.

GREAT IDEA!!! No sweets!!!!!!!!! Another idea that you can use Andrew is NO takeout!!!! Or food court!! Or delivery!!!! I have given up the food court at work for lent and it has been hard.....REALLY hard.....but, WORTH IT!!! There were days were I would go and think to get subway but, end up with an 800 calorie Taco John's meal :( planning out my food has been hard....but well worth it!!!

Have a great week you guys....no sweets will be quite the bummer... but, I can do it!!!

Ok weird question - does no sweets also include no sugar in my coffee? I will fail miserably if it does :embarassed:

Boys woke me early this am - have already done 17 minutes on the bike, the first load of washing is done and now need to get the 2nd on or I won't get John's sheets washed and back on his bed today

    Wil check back later

    Good morning everyone!

Thanks for the results Andrew, and thanks Janie for the challenge this week!

Still no word on my van, I was hoping to know something last night but no news yet. My mechanic does all of his side work (for broke people like me lol) out of his garage, but works a full time job as a mechanic. So I talked to him when he got in from work last night and he was checking the van out then. Hadnt heard back from him before I fell asleep:ohwell:

Have a great day everyone, they are calling for rain here so the outdoor workout is going to be a challenge in itself today. Im wondering if I can beat the rain?

good morning everyone! i'm still here and stalking as usual  it's been a weird couple of weeks with lots of stuff going on, the whole car switcheroo is still going on, which leaves me without a car for a couple of days. we all seem to have the same mild cold that just won't go away. going down to mass. this weekend for a wedding shower and some quality family time (so i can't guarantee no sweets will be eaten). i have, however given up that darn wine that's been costing me so much money and calories. time to get the kids ready for school, have a great day everyone!

Not in my book-- but it would include the ooey-gooey delectibles you might like to dip in your coffee.

Yes Tanya, a teaspoon of sugar in your coffee is acceptable - I'm not that hard core "no sugar" either.

As Marla mentioned, all the obvious offenders should be eliminated (donuts, pastries, cake, cookies, ice cream, the pie I made last night  , etc).

50 pounds from now, I might suggest a "whole food" week, but you have some time for that - I'm sure.

    Have a great day.

Thank you for replying to me - I was panicing that I couldn't have my coffee - no sugar would mean no coffee as I can not stand sweeteners!

I have 3 little ones asleep and for some unknown reason I am watching hercules  , going to go and sort out the washing etc while I don't have to referee or supervise

    Check back later, x

Well, my team................I do not DARE say I will not eat sweets! Each time I do this I start to buy them and scarf them and hunt them!

So let's just say I will watch the counter in my food diary and be aware of the sweets (since Lori and Marla said the tummy poofs with the sugar I have been unoffically watching it! )

The other night I wanted sugar............a spoon of it would have done quite well. Instead I ate a 1/2 cup of LF Cottage cheese. I was surprised it took my craving away.

Jeannie, as silly as it sounds, sometimes when I'm craving sugar, I really think I'm thirsty. Dumb, I know but I think it may be true.

I'm doing ok this week getting back into the swing of eating better. Mostly logging. I do forget sometimes. Plus, I know if I log through the day and have 'x' amount of calories left for dinner that I am good and I forget to log my dinner. But I guess doing something is better than nothing.

I have not gotten on the scale, I was tempted this AM for some reason, but I didn't. I am working on staying positive to motivate DH. Getting up and working out with him and doing P90X is really screwing with my mojo and by this morning, 4 days into it, I was a little, ok, a lot, cranky. I was ready to kick my exercise hard this week and trying new videos and workouts I am not doing it. I feel like it's been sort of a crappy week of exercise.

I have been getting up at 5:30, getting food ready for DH for the day, making the kids their PB&J for lunch. Running around trying to get the youngesst out the door by 6:20, throwing on clothes, doing a video with him, running out the door to take the other kids to school, hitting the gym for some cardio and then coming home and working all freaking day in the yard. I can barely keep my eyes open by 8:00 at night. It's not working.

Granted, normally I get up at 5:45, but I have time to get things together, start laundry, emtpy the dishwasher, just chill, before we leave at 7:40. Fitting in exercise is irritating for some reason. I have my time and place for it, the time is not then and the place isn't in my garage.

On top of all that, I'm not loving P90X. It's not a bad program, dont' get me wrong but I'm finding it. Hmmm, boring. 3 days are lifting with weights or using bands. I do that. I can do that at the gym. Heck, I can do that routine at the gym. I'm afraid if I don't do it with DH, he won't do it and he HAS to. I guess he's a big boy, I should leave it at that, he needs to do this. Today was Kenpo, basically kickboxing sort of moves, what I saw anyway. I was so irritated by the vido I made it 10 minutes. DH was having coordination issues and was getting frustrated, I wanted to punch the guy because he kept saying "punch, punch, punch" over and over. We turned it off.

Yes, I'm a routine freak. Yes I like to go the gym and be around people. Yes, I know I hate videos and the annoying instructors. See.... the staying positive thing is not going so well.

I'm not going outside today to do any work. My house is a pit because I've been outside for a week straight. The bathrooms and floors need my attention!

I need to talk to DH and decide what we are doing next week. He needs to take on the initiative to do his own workouts I'm afraid. It's spring break, so I already know that will mess with my week somewhat. He has a gym in his building, he just needs to go. As much as I hate working out after dinner, if I need to do it with him, after dinner it may be. :grumble:

I am suffering too! We can do it, though. Gotta put my caveat out there though. Keeping the chocolate milk for my recovery drink after long runs. I can do the candy, cookies, etc. And you will be happy to know that I have not put my hand in the M&M bowl once today.

    So getting back on this!

No sweets - no sweat. I'll just take the bowl of peanut m&m's back to a different office. Glad I didn't read this last night though.

Heading to the gym to do W3D3 of C25K. Wish me luck.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear we worked in the same office. Ours are peanut m&m's. Yours?
