So, my oldest, on his only day off this week gets up this morning and says to his father, "Dad, I have nothing to do today. I'm bored. I need a job. How 'bout I shampoo the living and dining room carpets?"

    :noway:

Okay, kid, who are you and what have you done with my real son?

Go figure-- will wonders never cease?

He also told me today he got a second job.

    Pinch me.

He's still throwing a hissy fit (as well as a paddle or two) when he loses at ping-pong to his little brother (14 year old Aaron, who just cleans the guy's clock every time) but I guess Rome wasn't built in a day.

Positive things these days tickle me pink, so I'm a happy camper this day.

Week 4, Day 1 is in the bag. I'm a hot (stinky, sweaty) mess but oh well. That's what they give us the gym for, right? Right? Actually, my office area is so stinkin' cold that it hasn't taken me too long to cool down and I've got vanilla body spray. That should cover the smell. Right?

Roni - Good luck with your van. DH and FIL just put shocks, a fan clutch and an idler pulley on my trailblazer. Parts, a couple of tools and $450 later....voila, she's done. 2 of the 3 noises are gone. The 3rd noise has not been figured out yet.

Lori - Your yard is looking wonderful! Congrats on the 4.2 lbs!

Hi all...Been MIA to the group for a while, still logging and jogging, just not posting. All is well here. I went to a women's conference at my step-mom's church this past weekend and had a great time, way too much food everywhere but that is okay. My hubby had to do all the running with the kids but it was nice to get a break. Hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you soon.

Beth and Andrew...Congrats! I miss having little ones. That is probably why I baby my 10-year-old too much!

    Morning all,

Tamara - hope that you don't have an ulcer, but please get it checked out

I have a weird question for you all - do you eat your exercise calories?

Will check back later, have to go and sort out a tonne of books we found in Tom's room this morning

    Good morning Black Team!

Bobbi-- Congratulations on gaining a new son-in-law!! Im sure Amanda will be thrilled, please let us know her reaction! And hang in there, you ar stronger than jelly beans!!:drinker:

Marla-- I love hearing happy news for you!:flowerforyou: Im your biggest stalker:blushing: :ohwell:

Tamara-- I agree with Tanya, you should get that checked out. Hope you feel better today.:flowerforyou:

Lori-- Way to go on those 4.2 lbs!!:drinker: I tend to lose the same ones a few times around myself, but hey, as long as we get them off, right?:flowerforyou:

Tanya-- There has been alot of back and forth on MFP threads about exercise calories. I personally eat some of mine on most days (it doesnt always work out that way though). I rarely eat all of them. With all the different opinions about that onthe site, the ones I like to go with is these:
    1. You can think of your body as an automobile. You cant expect your car to run you around and take you all the places you need to go if you dont have fuel in it. Same with our bodies. If we dont keep it fueled, it isnt going to go very far for us. And same as with a car, when you do alot of traveling, you need alot more fuel than normal so it is with our bodies too. When we workout alot we have to put more fuel in it.
    2. (This is my favorite thing to go by) If you are hungry after your alotted calories for the day-- eat. Just keep it light and healthy. Your body is your best guide. It will always tell you when you need to feed it.:flowerforyou:

    Tammy-- Hi!!:flowerforyou:

Well, Im off for now. I wish everyone a great Last Chance workout today!!:drinker:

P.S. Im not pregnant or getting married...but I have some big news to tell you guys tomorrow:happy: Its killing me to wait...but wait I must:tongue:

I can't believe I forgot to post about this happening. We got a call Friday from my oldest daughter Amanda's boyfriend. He said he was on the way to have a ring resized for her and thought he better call and ask for our blessing and to see if we would welcome him into the family. I, of course, gave him our blessing...funny how he called when he knew Jim would be at work. LOL I think he might be a little afraid of Jim. I think the formal proposal is going to be when they are in Key West for Easter. They have been together for 4 years and I KNOW how happy this will make her.

Funnier side, Amanda called a couple hours after he did wanting to tell me about how she woke up in pain that morning. Seems someone tried to slip a ring on her finger to see if it would fit and got it stuck. Oh eM Gee !!! Wouldn't let her look at it, threw a blanket over her head...I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see that all unfolding.

Okay, so everything is Hunky Dorey in Howard land. Getting ready to go do W4D1 !

I hope Amanda doesn't read these posts and ruin her suprise! do you think she has an incline already?

Hi Everyone, I was glad to see my name is still on the list, waiting for my number. I had lost motivation since my back problems returned. But, I am back again and motivated especially since I saw my name still listed!!!

I hope you guys still count me in and unfortunately I did gain weight. I am at 175.2 but I am not loosing hope. I already started logging in my food and exercising.

Congratulations to everyone who has kept at it...please pass along some of that motivation!!!!

W4D1 is in the bag. I did do it yesterday, but waited until Jim came home for a couple of reasons. 1. It had finally stopped raining. 2. I needed the push to get out there and 3. I needed him to push me, while running. I know I can't believe I just typed that either. He said the first 3 min. run he had a time trying to stay with me, first 5 min. was a little easier but not a lot. Last two runs he said my form got way sloppy and he could have run circles around me. Oh well, whatyagonnado? I needed the coach point of view and he gave it to me. Poor guy was sore this morning though.

Morning gang. Went to bed wondering how I'm going to live through the teenage years, kids had friends here until late last night. I will make it through, but it's not gonna be fun sometimes! Girlfriends/boyfriends complicate things. :grumble: So, to all you that have the houses full of little ones, hold on tight, the 'little one' woes turn into a house full of teenager woes. Sure they can wipe their own butts and make their own food, but there are a whole new set of things to worry about!

I felt 'the need' to step on the scale again today. That is how a scale obsession is born. I was 153, which is just where I was hoping to be yesterday (which was 154.8), I feel better, I knew spaghetti night was a factor. No more scale til next Monday, I promised myself. 151 would be cool then. Just sayin'.

Got stuff to do. Can't spend my day on the puter, even though I wanna. I feel much more alert and awake then I did yesterday. I could barely hold my eyes open all dang day!

    Have a great one folks!

W4D2 is complete! I usually do the minutes instead of the distance, but today I did the distance instead of the minutes. Took me longer to do it that way. Even kicked it up to 5.5mph for the final 3 min and 5 min runs. Usually I do 5.1mph. Woo Hoo. Thank God for deodorant and body spray. I snuck a peek at Week 5 - I'll be yelling for my mommy this time next week.

Thanks Marla - I have a serious mental block when it comes to running on the treadmill. I think it's because I watch the numbers ticking by. We've got bikes in our gym that have a computer screen attached and you can pick your trail and then you have scenery to look at. I need a treadmill like that.

Kati...you go girl ! I'll be yelling for Mommy too, don't worry Marla will be here to snap us out of it.

Marla...thank you ! Hoping I'm able to stick with it and get the distances in this time.

Hello from a very cold and wet UK.

I have no idea what kati and bobbi are doing, but it sounds 'hard'. Keep up the good work.

Had a rough night with little John, his breathing has gone all funky and rattlely, so he has had to have his inhalers and medicine, and won't be going into school today but will have to do the school walk with me as dh is 'to' busy at work to be able to take Tom into school urgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well hope everyone had a good last minute workout and your weigh in's are good. Weight roughly the same as last week, but at least its not a massive gain as I've changed my goals and am eating more so was expecting to put aload on. Will check back later, t x
