Back from the Easter egg hunt-- frostbitten. Oh my gosh.

Proud of abstaining from all the desserts and goodies-- only had a hotdog on a bun-- go me.

Fingers so sore from cold and arthritis I can't type-- feel like a total doofus right now.

    Later.

I had cookie cake in celebration of my teammate's birthday after our 10 mile run. Just a little piece, and way within my cals so I'm not going to beat myself up about it. Back on it tomorrow.

    1466 cals burned today...whoo hoo!

Bravo-- and I made it through so far without diving into the kisses and mini Reese's cups that are littering my house from the Easter Egg hunt-- they filled plastic eggs with candy-- yikes.

    So far, so good--

Whew am I tired. Really, really tired. Long weekend. Probably didn't do the 'best' with my eating, sure didn't log anything, too busy for that. I didn't eat bad things, maybe more than I should have. I was hungry from working so dang hard!

Still contemplating getting on the scale tomorrow for a weekly weigh in instead of waiting 6 weeks. Not sure. Goals. Heck, why have them if you can't break them, huh? :noway: I ate spaghetti and garlic bread for dinner, that's always a scale killer. Mabye I should rethink.......

Heading for a shower. I can feel sawdust on my skin and enough is enough, been gross too long, time to get ready for nighty night.

    Hey Black Team,

Back from a long weekend visit with the family. Always feels good to get home. Looks like you guys are doing pretty well with the challenge. We won't discuss me. I might have confused it for an ALL sweets challenge this weekend. lol

Marla-Glad you enjoyed the show. Love guys and dolls. Did that one my senior year. Had a ball. I played Nicely Nicely Johnson so I had to sing sit down your rockin the boat. and I know how hard those kids worked. We had a similar rehearsal schedule. lol

Shuntae-Your ran ten miles. you eat that cake. and you enjoy it.

Lori the deck looks great. Keep up the good work!

Missed trolling the boards this weekend. Finally got my car so that situation won't be in termoil. Needless to say DW and I have been distracted lately. I'm sure you guys have noticed that we have been a bit preoccupied. What could possibly make the Batman seem so frazzled.

    That's right folks......A Bat Baby

The newest member of our super team will be joining us in October and we are already scrambling to be ready. Beth is figuring out how to balance her new healthy lifestyle with rampant pregnancy cravings. And I must say I am very impressed so far. Things are finally settling and I think we are getting the hang of the idea. lol It's going to be a challenge but Beth and I have decieded that I need to keep pursuing my Triathlons and I know that if wouldnt want to face the challenge with any other team. We love you guys to bits. Anyway, have an awesome night guys. We are exhausted from the long drive. I am thinkin it's almost time for bed.

we had spaghetti tonight, too-- 480 mg of sodium per 1/2 cup of sauce-- youch.

Only had 1.5 cups of pasta and 1/2 cup of sauce, but I'll be the Michelin man this time tomorrow, anyway, no doubt.

I've made my weigh-in day Friday-- very, very satisfied with my weekend overall-- even with the sweets of yesterday, and we went to Applebee's Friday night for some noshables-- still, much better than usual. And today was awesome.

    Hope everyone is well--

Yayyyyyyy-- another black team baby-congratulations, Andrew and Beth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beth-- you can soooooooo do this. Pregnancy doesn't have to mean weight gain. Actually, truth be told (something I'm soooo proud of) my last 5 pregnancies I only gained 15 with each.......and was 10 pounds lower at my 6 week check up than I began the pregnancy.

(unfortunately, with the stress of each newborn, I put it all back, and then some-- but I digress)

It can be done-- and that was before I even found all you lovely people. No excuses, Mrs. Batman-- you can do this. Eat healthy, even continue to exercise. I ran throughout Joshua's pregnancy because I'd already been doing it. You can continue your exercises, just don't start anything new that you're not used to.

God bless your wonderful family-- this is wonderful news.

Andrew-- I would have loved to have seen you in the play-- I loved the character of Nicely-- too funny.

Faith was in the mission-- and it was during "Sit down, you're rocking the boat," that I blubbered the most. That's when I saw her truly beam-- the singing, the clapping-- she was beaming. I was bawling.

This was her first time of many, Lord willing-- she loved it. She'll be auditioning for Damn Yankees soon for summer theatre for the high school-- fun stuff.

    Love to all--

thanks marla! the way i've been stuffing my face lately, i wouldn't be surprised if i've gained a few this week, but i've been ok'd by my doctor to keep doing step class, i plan on doing a lot of walking, and i got a prenatal workout dvd from netflix today, so i plan on getting it together and staying healthy. i got a couple of different opinions about my calorie intake, though. i saw a nurse practitioner for the whole workup and exam, etc, and she told me that my maintainence calories were enough at 1600, but my obgyn said i should be eating more like 2000. maybe i should shoot for the 2000 and if i'm gaining a lot i'll scale back a little bit.

Okay-- so this day I am "One-of-those-runners Lite."

Hubs and I just got back from running-- 10pm start time, TOM, raining like the d!ckens, and windier than I like-- didn't get in the best run of my life, by far-- but, I got 2.5 in-- and I'll take it.

Good calorie count today-- not eating back my exercise cals-- I'll be excited for next week's weigh-in.

Hubs and I are running the 5k next month for my kids' high school-- that's the one I ran last year for my first one....just before my gall bladder went flooey!

Andrew and Beth - many congratualtions on your news. I can't give any diet advice I'm afraid ( i put on at least 3 stone if not 5 with each one!!), but I was also told that I could do any exercises that I was already doing.

Lori - I hate the feel of saw dust on my skin, you can feel it for ages even when you have had your shower

Marla - well done on the run. I have to walk the boys to school this morning in the rain boy is that going to be fun!

Shuntae - after running 10 miles you deserve some cake, so enjoy.

    Bobbi - ??????

I am sure there were more people to 'talk' to, sorry I have forgotten, but hello.

Am going to be doing alot of walking again this week, Rob still has my car. He brought an old run around last July, which broke down in central london about 2 weeks after he brought it. Friends of ours said that they could get it fixed (at mates rates) in a couple of weeks....... well nearly 8 months later they still have the car, and we now are having this problem of Rob needing mine to get to work :grumble: Although on the plus side, it does sort of prove that for the most part we can get along with just one car.

I have just seen the time, and have to scoot to get the big boys up for school (little ones were up at 6  )

    Good morning everyone!

Andrew and Beth-- What glorious news! Congratulations to you both!!:flowerforyou:

    Shuntae-- Amazing run!:drinker:

Lori-- Looks like things are moving along nicely, you certainly have been working hard!

Marla-- Good for you, I sure cant say that I would have been out with that kind of weather:ohwell: That's dedication my friend!:drinker:

Tanya-- I'm sure by now, your day is well on its way...hope its been a great one!:flowerforyou:

    Tamara-- Have a great workout!:drinker:

I finally got my van back last Thursday night, was really glad about that. Got up Friday morning to take the boys to school and van didnt want to start again:ohwell: Called the mechanic back when he got in from work Friday evening and of course he had a car scheduled to work on for Saturday already. Needless to say he never got around to checking mine out again. Oh how I want to trade it in for a new one! Cant afford that, so trying to keep up with this one.

I will be heading out to the gym in a couple hours, assuming my car wants to start this morning. We'll see. Cross your fingers for me!

    Have a great Monday friends!:flowerforyou:

Beth and Andrew - YAY!!!! So exciting! Beth, I can't give you any eating advice. With Harley I ate horribly - sometimes I had chinese food every day for lunch at work - and I still only gained 30 pounds. This time I'm eating somewhat healthier and the doctor still tells me at every appointment that I'm gaining a little too fast.

Are you going to find out if it's a girl or boy or do you guys like to wait until he/she is born? I  talking about babies!

thanks lori! this whole eating right during pregnancy thing is totally new to me too. with the other two, i just ate everything i craved, and didn't really exercise at all. i was working as a waitress at the time, so i was moving around, but trying to figure out a balance with calories and exercise and being so darn tired i don't want to move seems like it's gonna be a real challenge. hopefully the fatigue will go away when my 2nd trimester starts in a couple of weeks. till then i just need to force myself to get off my butt! i am planning on finding out what it is, probably sometime in late may or early june. i could never wait nine whole months to find out.

    What's up?

I was doing sooooo good on the no sweets. Now when I say good I mean good for me. I had a couple cookies and that's it. Then in walks the problem...his name is Jim and he opened a bag of jelly beans. Nuff said.

No diet advise from me either, sorry Beth. I only gained 25 pounds with both my girls but I ate everything in sight. Melissa, our youngest went for her 22 week appt. First 18 weeks she gained a total of...wait for it..2 pounds. Last 4 weeks she put on 8 !! Hehe, she's only a tiny little thing and the thought of her putting on weight warms my heart.

I can't believe I forgot to post about this happening. We got a call Friday from my oldest daughter Amanda's boyfriend. He said he was on the way to have a ring resized for her and thought he better call and ask for our blessing and to see if we would welcome him into the family. I, of course, gave him our blessing...funny how he called when he knew Jim would be at work. LOL I think he might be a little afraid of Jim. I think the formal proposal is going to be when they are in Key West for Easter. They have been together for 4 years and I KNOW how happy this will make her.

Funnier side, Amanda called a couple hours after he did wanting to tell me about how she woke up in pain that morning. Seems someone tried to slip a ring on her finger to see if it would fit and got it stuck. Oh eM Gee !!! Wouldn't let her look at it, threw a blanket over her head...I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see that all unfolding.

Okay, so everything is Hunky Dorey in Howard land. Getting ready to go do W4D1 !

I can relate. My ring went on fine, didn't come off for 4 days. Stuck tight. I pulled on that thing for days and days and my finger was so blasted sore! Had it made bigger. Now I need it smaller. :ohwell:

Congrats to your daughter. Fun times, wedding to plan.

Ok, my friends, so I get up this morning, I decide I was going to weigh in, but I wasn't going to look. I told hubs I was going to get on the scale, he was going to read it, not tell me the number, because the number isn't always good for me to know. Then I told him he could write it down and at the end of 6 weeks I could evaluate what I did and how it worked, etc.

So I get on the scale. Hubs says ok, don't look down, you can get off. I get off. I say, "All I want to know is whether it is less than last week." Hubs says, "Yeah, almost 5 pounds less!"

Ummmm, I can subtract ya know. I looked at him and started laughing. Sort of defeated the purpose of not looking. Then he realized what he did and started laughing himself and said that he couldn't believe he just did that.

Anyway, it was 4.2 pounds less. I will take it, although I have to confess I wanted it to be lower . (Don't we all?) It was way up last week from Chinese the night before. I'm still over my 'ok range' by almost 2 pounds but last night was spaghetti, so who knows. See, the scale is evil! I will do what I can this week and see how it goes.

Hubs lost 7 pounds and was thrilled. I was happy for him. I think he can do 15-20 pounds in 6 weeks, it's new for him, it's the beginning and things go fast. I am trying to stay motivated for him. It's good to see him working on it and even better to see that it's working and he's encouraged.
