Selfish-ness

I think we are all selfish sometimes to a certain degree. I think that has nothing to do with being narcissistic. Although I think it's an overly used description, there are people who are narcissists. They are so self absorbed they can't feel empathy for others and actually share several tendencies with psychopaths. I think my sister sometimes demonstrates these traits. But as far as selfishness, sometimes it can be good to put yourself first. After a really bad marriage I finally put myself first. I was single again and only accountable to and for myself. For a long time I would have rather stayed alone forever rather than have a new partner upset my apple cart. But eventually I was ready to make room in my life for someone new. And I knew what I was looking for and was selfish enough not to settle.
Now that I'm on this diet I am often selfish with my time because I need to work out, I eat what is best for me instead of what everyone else is having, etc. But in the end, no one can do this for me but me. This is wear the rubber meets the road, I have to do this. And that means putting my needs at the top of the list.0 -

People who don't want to get married.
People who don't want to have kids.
People who don't want to beleive Christianity.
Stuff like that.
Married people are the most selfish people I know. Along with people that reproduce. They're always clogging up my very sacred facebook page with photos of their silly naked babies and wedding rings. News flash folks . . . nobody gives a sh@t.
I'm not touching Christianity with a ten foot pole.
Just saying.
1) You don't need to sat just saying after you've already said something. The original text implies that you just said it.
2) I'm getting a very strong feeling that you're one of these people I mentioned above? With the wedding rings and the baby photos?
I'm just saying what everyone else on your friends list is already thinking . . . .0 -

Selfish-ness no.... more survival there are many people who will use the system and get away with it. They always seem to be the ones who are the first to point out what everyone else is doing wrong yet they cannot see what they are doing.0

Yes. The world definitely needs more people. Not creating more to further tax our troubled ecosystem is just selfish.0 -

I had my suspicions when his second post contradicted his first.....'tis why I just grabbed some Internet popcorn. Troll post or not, the resulting s**tstorm was going to be fun0 -
They give a sh@t, and it's their facebook page, facebook is all about being selfish. If it offends you that they are posting their children and their engagements and rings, instead of whining about what they are posting on THEIR pages why not just remove them? After all it's not your page they are posting on, but your news feed

I know a lot of people who are kind of thoughtless or not great at social situations.
It crosses the line into selfishness when you repeatedly do a thing that has caused huge problems with someone you care about in the past, so you know from experience it will cause them pain.0
