When my grandmother passed away a few years ago, I found out we are related to the late, great Eartha Kitt. She was my grandmother's second cousin.

I'm such a nerd. All of mine are political people. The most recognizable, though, would be Ben Stein.

ETA that I met Cecil Fielder, but it was (of course) at a political function. I didn't know who I was standing next to - I just knew I was standing next to this huge guy. Then someone got on the mic and thanked him for coming. Everyone applauded and looked my way, at which point I looked up to see his face. I was about eye level with his hands (or so it felt - I'm 5'7", but he's 6'3" and mega broad), so I then noticed his enormous, diamond-encrusted NY Yankees World Series ring. One of my friends, who is a huge Yankees fan, ran over to talk to him, and we all got to chatting. He invited us to some other political function he was going to later (not in a sketchy way), but unfortunately we were unable to go. He was VERY nice, though.

Had a couple of dates with conductor Keith Lockhart before he was part of the Boston pops. Too much of an age difference, and got the impression he had waaay more experience than I had at the time.

Lorenzo Lamas (he played Sandy's handsome, "good" boyfriend in the movie Grease). We were living in San Diego at the time. At my place of work, the TV show "Renegade" was being filmed around our office. The whole crew would set up early, and this huge breakfast buffet would be set up. Anyway, Lorenzo occasionally could be caught working out behind one of the buildings in the complex and of course, us ladies would try to sneak a peak. One day, he caught sight of us and came over to our office. He chatted with us for a few minutes and I found him to be very nice. And handsome! This was about 1995-ish.

Who is the most famous person you've ever met, and what were the circumstances?

-- David Fortman (guitarist for Ugly Kid Joe, now a record producer (Godsmack, Pantera, Evanescence, etc.)): Went to high school with him. Used to help the band he was in at the time cart their gear around.
-- Joe Winkelsas (ex minor/major league pitcher): Spent two little league seasons working with him coaching my middle son's team.
-- Archie Manning: Used to go to the same church (when I was a kid); was in Sunday School with Cooper and Peyton Manning (they were much younger than me though, so I don't remember playing with them too much).
-- Shaquille O'Neal: had a class with him at LSU, and used to see him out at the Tiger Bar in Baton Rouge from time to time.
-- Todd Walker (ex major league baseball player): he used to join us for our weekly softball games in Baton Rouge when he was going to LSU
-- Daddy Bush: He was at a ceremony honoring the military at Charleston Naval Base after Hurricane Hugo. Not really a "meeting", but did get a picture shaking hands with him.

  • I have met Vanessa Williams when she was the witch in Into the Woods and I also me a few cast members of the original cast of Beauty and the Beast. But my most memorable was Linda Eder. She is a fabulous singer and also the original Lucy in the original broadway production of Jekyll and Hyde. I attended and concert last year and then I got to meet her after and get my picture taken with her! She was very sweet and took time to chat with everyone that came backstage to meet her!

Oh I should also probably mention that we were backstage after seeing Jim Gaffigan in Milwaukee in December. His wife, latest baby, and a few other friends and family were there. Super nice bunch!
