How often do you shower?

I'm amazed that so many people shower 2-3 times a day. That seems so wasteful of time and resources. And the people who shower BEFORE their workouts? WTH? I shower after workouts, so 5-6 times a week.0

Once per day, post lifting.0
-
Once minimum, but twice in the summer or if I do crazy cleaning and feel icky. But dry shampoo is a miracle, so I don't always have to do my hair if I'm being lazy.0

weekdays i shower twice a day (before i go to work to wake my *kitten* up - i cant function without a shower, and right after work/working out - i usually workout right after i leave my job) on the weekends its once a day because i usually dont leave my/or my bfs house.
In the summer it can be 3x per day depending on how hot it is outside and whut not0 -
Every other day0

3 times a day when at work. Shower when I wake, shower after cycling to work and then shower when I get home0
-
Before work, and again after the gym.0
-
3 times a day! Before workout after workout and then in the evening ! I love my showers!0
-
Most days - 5-6 times per week, usually, sometimes more if it's particularly hot.0
-
Once a day, twice if I'm going out in the morning other than to gym. I refuse to shower before gym cause I'm just getting sweaty anyway.0
-
Once or twice a day depending on my work & workout schedule. I wash my hair every other day though.0

1-2 times a day0

fo sho!
every second day though. I effin hate showering.
^^^ this. although I don't hate showering, just that it's time consuming.
I have a tendency to get the kind of eczema that's made worse by washing too frequently. Showering when I don't actually need to is bad for my skin. If I showered as frequently as some people in this thread, my skin would be a total and utter mess. i have to be really careful what products I use on my skin too because the problem is that my skin's natural barrier has a genetic defect, meaning it gets washed away far too easily, and have to use a prescription moisturiser (emollient) after showering.
Sorry to be boring lol, and no, I don't smell and my skin's fine with antiperspirant, that doesn't strip away the skin's natural barrier.
Hope this information comes in useful to anyone who's suffering from eczema and doesn't know why.... (also see a good dermatologist and bear in mind not all eczema is the same, so the above advice may not be appropriate to everyone who has eczema)
I have this exact same problem and shower every other day for the same reason. Right now my hands actually feel sandpapery because I've showered too much in the past few days and haven't been so good on using my steroid ointment or lotion (I just use baby lotion, didn't know anything about prescription moisturisers).
There are quite a few, although I think they're also available off prescription (not sure if all of them are though). They are better than stuff like baby lotion, because they adhere to the skin better and actually form a barrier which replaces the skin barrier, which is defective in this kind of eczema. Cosmetic moisturisers just moisturise, they don't replace the skin's barrier effectively. The one I was prescribed was Unguentum M. But I think even though many are available off prescription (they are a specialised blend of oils and not classed as drugs, at least in the UK they're not) it's important to see a good dermatologist because you need to match the right creams with the specific kind of eczema, they all have different strengths etc. Since I've had this cream the amount of steriod cream I've had to use has drastically decreased.
I know what you mean about the sandpapery feeling!!0 -
Once a month, but only if I need it
Once or twice a day depends on what I'm doing and the temperature, and I have (shock, horror) been known to skip a day if I'm having a lazy day at home.0 -
Whats shower?0

I literally at minimum take 3 baths a day, I have anxiety issues and taking a bath is one of my "coping skills"
Sorry read post closer...my brother has this same thing so he can't go swimming of get really sweaty or anything...I bet its really hard0 -
You peoples clearly haven't been through the same water restrictions as we have in Oz.

I shoot for a quick rinse once a day or so, but I do the full on shower/make myself smooth and conditioned every 2-3 days or so.0
-
In the morning and after workouts.
Using a new peppermint conditioner on what little hair I have left.
Baths are for after long runs.0 -
Everyday.0
-
shower after my workout at night before I go to work. (I work thirds)
The only time I'll take 2 a day is if I get lucky in the mornings.. then I shower before I lay down to sleep for the day.0 -
After every workout, so twice a day Monday to Friday and once a day on the weekends.0
-
Once a day. At night. After workout
I dont have time to shower three times a day or even two times a day0 -
As often as i get dirty.0
-
Every single day, but...just to compete with the three-times-a-day people :noway:...my showers are ridiculously long (45-60min). And really, truly, it's just because I zone out and start working on my research and planning out chapters in my head. :blushing:0

Depends what's happening that day and what I've been doing, If it an exercise day I will shower once i'm done, if I am going out then i'll shower first but if i'm having a lazy day I might skip a shower that day..
So sometime it's 3x a day and sometime it's once in 2 days.. depends on my routine0 -
*no time for that meme*
Every other day (but if I work out, after that too). But I don't wash my hair every time I shower, usually every other. Muahahah. I feel dirty compared to others but honestly my scalp is super dry, and if your hair is used to being washed once every 3-4 days its honestly fine for that long. It only gets oily fast if you wash it daily or are a naturally oily person, and fine curly hair needs more oil to remain undamaged.0
