Are you 100% honest with your food diary?

Yep! Pretty much! Even though sometimes Im over 800~ calories.. I need to log it in so I can see if it affects my weight loss or not for that week or so.. or so just I can see if I cant have any more extra calories for the next few days. haha0

Yep. I bite it, I write it. I can only think of two or three days this whole time where something or other might have been missed or where I might have estimated wrong.
MFP has tricked me a few times into eating more than I thought I was, though. You'd think people could get something like the basic calories in 4 ounces of raw chuck roast correct when they record, but not always, so when in doubt, double check. This site is free and incredibly useful, random incorrect data is just part of what happens with a database made by other users.
It's okay, obviously it has worked out well in the end for me!0 -
I am an honest daily logger. My diary is open, and is an endless source of fascination to my friends as it doesn't look "diet-y" at all. I eat what I like when I like, and log EVERYTHING! I have been known to be more than 1000 calories over, but it all goes down0
-
I often have to guess at my calories so I like to over estimate if i have to estimate at all. Like others have said lying to yourself is pointless.0

How do you log spices?0

How do you log spices?
.002 of a serving.0 -
yes, but I might have missed one serving of ketchup from last night.0
-
I'm not and I know that's why it's taken me so long to lose weight.0
-
Yes.0

It's pretty close for food but I don't log every dribble of tomato ketchup or every bit of garlic, say.
I know by now what is significant and I'm happy for my diary to be an approximation.
Given that EVERYTHING calorie-wise is a vast approximation .... from food labels to exercise calories burnt to ...
That pretty much describes me.
Home made meals can be problematic. Although everything is weighed and measured during preparation, the actual portioning is not, and I'm sure I sometimes have a larger portion than I had recorded.0 -
Everything but condiments. I just can't get too worked up about logging my ketchup. I probably should but I don't. If it seems like my losses are affected I would though but right now it's not an issue so I let it go.0

i never used to be...
but then i locked my diary and i'm 99% honest now0 -
At the moment yes, as I am still trying to lose, if I was maintaining or trying to bulk then might be less deligent0
-
Lately I haven't been, and that needs to change......0

Usually yes... even it the items are calorie free (sweetener) I will log it... but, I forgot to log the 1/2 serving of sriracha I had with my dinner.... but not logging that isn't going to make me gain when I keep the deficit I have... I log most of the stuff, but sometimes I forget.0
-
I don't usually log spices and condiments but if I feel that I have had alot of these I will do a quick calorie add. Sometimes I might forgot something, but for the most part I am honest. No reason lying to myself.0
-
I don't log things that are 5 or less calories, tea or coffee (I don't use sugar and that teaspoon of fat free milk has less than 10 calories), spices, gum, that one pumpernickle pretzel stick that my coworker let me try...
I don't like/eat condiments so there is nothing to log.0 -
I don't log healthy snacks that I sometimes have after dinner. Mainly because I don't want to log in again. I've been doing this long enough that I know it won't hurt me, as long as I'm still under.0

Yep. The only person I would be cheating is myself!0
-
pretty much, i may forget to add salad dressings or condiments...but for the most part i'd say 95% honest ...stil having a hard time detemining size of portions, need a scale0
-
Every single calorie! I measure on my food scale and enter the exact amount. Woop some extra work involved but pays off
Me too. It's amazing what you 'thought' a serving was - then you actually weigh/measure it. That little scale comes in handy!!0 -
all of it, even when over0
-
probably the only thing I miss is when I eat a sample at the grocery store/Costco, but then again how many calories is a small bite of something?0
-
For the most part yes. I dont record multivitamin calories, gum or drink mix calories...mostly because they are either to small or i forget about them.0
-

ABSOLUTELY! The only person your cheating is your self, if you deceive your self, what else in life are you willing to deceive.
Agreed. Especially if your diary is closed....no one sees it. If you don't log it all you will never be able to find out where you are going wrong in your life change. I even list the cinnamon in my oatmeal in the morning. If it goes pass the lips it goes in my diary.0 -
Absolutely honest. Lying is only lying to myself and that's pretty pointless.
What she said.0 -
I record EVERYTHING. Spices, condiments, the smallest dash or pat of anything goes in my diary. I am OCD when it comes to that thing.0
