an 8 ounce glass of rich Cabernet!

Ketchup! Your doing it all wrong. You have never had a good steak if you are putting crap on it.

Good cut of meat, add salt, pepper, and cayenne

Cook to medium with a good sear on the steak.

mmmmm meat... no ketchup or other sauce needed.

    mmmm meat
cook until thoroughly gray, blackened crust. dip in ketchup.

Have you considered just slapping a slice of tomato on top of your steak?

Ketchup on steak sounds.. Just.. No.

    two entirely different food groups

    Fair enough.
I would imagine home made ketchup would probably be the best for steak, then. If you're into that sort of thing.

season your steak with a 1/2 cup of veganaterian tears and you won't need ketchup.

    ^^^ I AGREE!!

    bandwagon

Ditto. I think you're cooking it wrong if you want sauce on a good steak. Even Eye of Round doesn't need sauce if you do it right. If you want some additional flavor try Montreal Steak seasoning. You can find it in the spice section of your local grocery store.

Wait....what? So, if it is not bleeding, it ceases to be an animal?

If you have to put "ANYTHING" on your steak, something is wrong ! A sign of a good steak is that it needs NOTHING on it !
