Is muscle on women attractive?

I’m not wanting to become a body builder or anything but would like to start doing weights and building a little bit more muscle so I look toned and athletic. Just wondering what your opinions are on the matter?
Thank you :)

For me there is a fine line. Toned and athletic is a good look on women. It's when women are solid muscle and more resemble men that I think it's too much.

All that matters is whether YOU think it is attractive. Why worry about what anyone else thinks?

Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

For me, well defined, athletic musculature (think Jessica Ennis) is hotter that hell :flowerforyou:

Whereas the "female bodybuilder" look (just try typing that into a Google image search)...

However, I'm sure most of those women have someone in their life that loves them, it's just not for me...

Oh please tell me you are just joking! OF COURSE IT IS ATTRACTIVE! Wayyyy better than flab or wimpy looking.

But you already knew this, I'm sure. Go for it! Get some muscle, girl! Not only will it look awesome but you'll be fitter in the process. Best of luck! Would love to see progress photos.

Personally, I think strong women are sexy. As long as you are not taking steroids you won't look like a man no matter how hard you workout.

THIS! But personally speaking, yes....I like an athletic, strong body and find that most attractive.

Will have to agree with agirlscamaro that toned is indeed a great more attractive then the body builder look. But it is all up to you.

I prefer the gelatinous cube look. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure lifting weights a looking great might work out for you too.

I think it is. My husband thinks it is. Those are the only two opinions that matter to me and of course the first is more important than the second.

Yes. Fit women are always more attractive than non. Skinny -fat vs lean.... no *kitten* vs nice round *kitten*. Hmmmm.

I think it is more important if you like what you see in a mirror rather than worrying about what others think of your appearance. High self-esteem is very attractive!

I think it's fabulous, there are some great before and after threads on here of women who have changed their bodies with heavy lifting.

I have just ordered New Rules of Lifting for Women from Amazon, it's supposedly the bible for ladies who want to get strong and toned. It's highly recommended on here, I'm so excited to get started.

A girl with a 'runner's body' can be quite sexy. A girl with really thick shoulders and excessive muscle (where you start to question if they are doing steroids) not so much.

I'm attracted to what the muscles represent. I look at a woman like Pink and I'm completely in awe of her power and obvious dedication, but on a purely physical level I don't necessarily find such a hard body to be attractive.

I love it just so long as the muscles don't get too big.

It's your decision, so what does it really matter what anyone else says.

I never used to be bothered one way or the other about muscles on a man or woman......but in the past 2 years I have come to love the look of muscles, also realising how effort you need to put in makes it even more attractive to me.
