It has worked for me, and that's all that matter, like I said before I am not trying to sell "you" the product just putting factual information out there.

very few facts in your information.

You believing that it is true does not make it fact.

Everyone has their own opinion about what "works" for them when it comes to fitness, health, dieting and exercise. I just merely wanted to share my opinion about how a certain product ((wraps or not)) is working for me and making me feel great about myself, finally! Considering I had a baby a year ago. Most mothers can relate! And one product is no different then buying healthy food, gym memberships, diet pills, stretch mark creams, etc. I did not post on here to start an argument or debate, Just figured that joining "my fitness pal" would have members excited for other peoples results regardless of the product! Mind you I do not rely on the wraps alone, I eat healthy and stay active with my little one.

    I'm glad you found success.

However, you are making claims about the product that are simply not true, and anyone with a basic understanding of... well, pretty much anything, can see that.

You then resorted to calling people skeptics for not believing in something so obviously false.

I have a magical rabbit that I feed invisible carrots. When it gets full, it does a rather impressive version of M.C. Hammer's "You Can't Touch This". I start dancing at a pretty rapid pace, and toxins leak out of my earlobes. On sale now $400.

Then prove to me then it's not true. Then we will have a debate!

They should be renamed: "Of course they don't! Body wraps."

It's a shame "No! No!" is already taken.

And to answer your "toxins" question there is no specific name for the "toxins" as I explained in my post about what the definition of "toxins" are and how they enter your body. You may personally go to a scientist or your doctor and ask what the names are of specific toxins, but I am not a doctor nor am I a scientist.

Chemicals: Chemicals that are toxic may include small amounts of very toxic things, such as pesticide residue dusted onto our freshly-picked, non-washed, non-organic produce. (Always choose organic produce when possible.) High pesticide produce items include non-organic peaches, strawberries, apples, nectarines, bell peppers, celery, cherries, lettuce, imported grapes and pears. Over the counter, prescription and even recreational drugs are all referred to as chemical toxins that can build up in your body over time. Another recent toxic-topic of discussion refers to the amount of mercury in the foods that we eat. High levels of mercury in the body can cause illness and even death.

Food: Side note: toxic foods do not refer to pesticides. That comes next in the 'chemicals' category. Toxic foods can refer to food additives, highly processed or genetically modified foods and even chemical ingredients in food recipes such as food dyes (RED 40) and chemical flavorings (MSG and aspartame). A few doctors believe that modern day American diets can actually be considered 'toxic' because of the high intake of processed, dead 'empty-calorie' food items like white flour and sugar.

Water: A number of toxins have been discovered in water. Everything from chlorine, bleach, ammonia and even OTC and prescription medications have been reported to be found in excess in drinking water.

Air: Pollution refers to the toxic gases and chemicals, such as methane and carbon monoxide, that are released into the atmosphere only to be mixed into the air we breath in and exhale out. Pollution toxins can come from vehicle and factory emissions as well as other sources. A notable air pollutant is also cigarettes. Inhaled tobacco products contain a number of highly toxic ingredients that can negatively effect your body. Tobacco product toxins effect more than the smokers. Second hand smoke can be inhaled in a wide variety of situations: bars, restaurants, casinos, at home from family members and roommates, sporting events, city sidewalks, outdoor cafes and other social gatherings. So even non-smokers should be aware of the toxic ingredients in tobacco smoke.

Just to reference, these are the toxins in your body.

How can you claim it removes "toxins" when you don't even know what they are? Surely there must be something that someone has measured in urine to support this claim of removing toxins. (BTW, I actually have a college degree in toxicology so I'm sure I can understand your forthcoming explanation.)
  • I thought the only wrap on a body part that's effective is a condom? And even sometimes those let you down

Then prove to me then it's not true. Then we will have a debate!

The burden of proof lies in the ones making the claim.

A good read that applies to this topic in general:

In real science, the burden of proof rests on those making a claim, not on the critic. Pseudoscience employs the reversed burden of proof, demanding that skeptics demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that a claim, for example, that some supplement prevents cancer, is false. It is essentially impossible to prove a universal negative, so this tactic incorrectly places the burden of proof on the skeptic rather than the claimant

It Works Body Wraps – how do they work? Here is the science behind our wraps! You’re wondering if they work, the answer is YES and you’re also wondering how…. The botanical blend in our wraps penetrate the skin and into the deeper skin layers, getting straight to the fat cells…where it forces toxins out of them! Those toxins are then picked up by the blood stream and filtered through the kidneys and essentially are eliminated through your urine. A little fact about fat cells: When you are born, you are born with all the fat cells your body will ever have. However, fat can expand 1000x its original size. Fat holds toxins and CAN be shrunk, you don’t essentially “lose” fat without exercise, proper diet or surgery – but you can certainly shrink it and our skinny wraps will do just that!

actually, thank you. i thought this sounded funny, so i went to look it up. apparently you are born with a set amount of fat cells, and they do expand to store excess calories as triglycerides. however you can gain new fat cells when previous ones have reached their maximum size. fat cells can shrink, but will never ever go away without being removed by surgery or lipo.

Ok, let's assume that we have toxins in our body that for some reason our kidneys, liver,or bowels are not able to eliminate.

If the botanical blend penetrate into the fat cells to release toxins into the blood which are then eliminated through the kidneys, I would think that urine tests would reveal exactly what these toxins are.

And of course because the wraps are so scientifically based, you can show me double blind, peer reviewed etc studies that would prove it, right?

"A little fact about fat cells: When you are born, you are born with all the fat cells your body will ever have. "

Not true. People also gain new fat cells during puberty and pregnancy.

Asking for evidence isn't negativity. You made claims about a product, and were not able to back those claims up.

I tried one once! I was at a Bridal Show and won one, so I got one for myself and the bride I was with. We both lost over an inch from wearing it, and felt great that night. Not sure how long it stayed off, but I would definitely do one if I had a special event upcoming and wanted to fit into something small.. She's going to use them weekly starting at least a month before her big day and I know it will help... regardless of how long it stays off after the wedding
