Goose Island 312. Refreshing, summer wheat beer. Not big on calories, and has some flavor. But still drink Budweiser in a can, so I might not be the best judge.

We're part-time beer snobs in my house. Meaning we indulge on the weekends with the homebrews, but once we log our calories on MFP we realize we can't do that all the time :) So when we're reaching for a lighter beer with a taste we actually like, we go for Miller Lite. At 96 Calories it's pretty high on the beer efficiency scale (I don't know what forum rules are here for links but look up efficient drinker) Sure there are more efficient beers on the list, but we've tried them and don't like the taste as much.

This whole thread is making me cry.

    ok 6 light beers at 60 calories = 360
    2 craft beers at 150 - 200 calories (I'll go on the high end) = 400 calories

That's only a 40 calorie difference. Its just not worth it people.

Edit* I bet I can make up 40 calories just using this:

    Oh the ever disappointing quest...

I am obsessed with Stella Artois... so much so that I will run an extra mile so I can have 2. If stella EVER made a light beer I would seriously loose my head, but I guarentee you it won't taste as good.

That being said, if you can't burn it to earn it, I would go with Amstel Light or Heinekin light. At least it has flavor unlike Coors, Bud or Miller. Keep in mind too that less calories typically means less alcohol which means you end up drinking more anyway to get that buzz.

    Hope this helped!

BUT, if you want to drink 6 beers, the difference is 540 calories using your low end for craft. Whether it's worth it is personal opinion.

    No.

Buuuuut if I'm at a bar where all the choices taste like *kitten* anyway, I'll opt for low-cal. Corona Light and Amstel Light are the least offensive to me.

When I want a beer I go for the real thing b/c I want to enjoy it! I'm a stout lover and wouldn't trade my thicker/darker stouts for a light/low calorie beer at all!

I'm going to agree with the people recommending the full calorie- better tasting beers. Yes some of them have a LOT of calories but it's like any other low calorie options- you will probably end up drinking more calories BECAUSE you're drinking light beers rather than enjoying one or two full calorie beers.

Really if you want to drink light, I recommend vodka soda with fruit or something similar.
