How often do you clean?

I know this seems like an odd topic, but I'm just curious what the "norm" is.
I grew up with parents that made me do chores, mostly dishes and garbage (I know! Poor me ) but somehow, the house was never clean. Laundry everywhere, animal fur everywhere, we cleaned maybe once a month. Maybe.
Now I clean daily. The daily routine includes vacuuming, sweeping, dishes, emptying the dishwasher, general tidying up,making the bed, if that even counts and cleaning the glass end tables/coffee table with glass cleaner. Those suckers get dusty.
Once a week (Fridays, actually) we also do a more thorough cleaning that includes dusting, polishing the wood furniture, mopping, scrubbing the toilets, sinks, and tubs, shining the hardwood floors, cleaning the walls if need be, along with everything else listed above. It sounds like a lot, but it's not too much work considering I clean every day, so there is never much that is dirty. I personally enjoy cleaning. I'm a bit of a clean freak so I like things to be clean and shiny and tidy. It's just a matter of getting off my *kitten* to do it!
I was just wondering what other peoples' cleaning habits were like. How often do you clean? Do you love it/hate it?

Please, America, legalize same sex marriage so I can make this woman my wife!
(For as bad as I am at cleaning, I will make up for it in the bedroom)0 -
Everyday, don't enjoy doing it but love the feeling afterwards. It's necessary as I have pets, children and a husband!
I bet you don't enjoy when they all come back and make a mess of it though. I have been guilty of this and experienced it first hand, so I know that feeling, haha.0 -
Once a week I will give the house a good clean. I tidy up everyday though so it never really gets dirty.0

Hey, it's legal in CT. My fiance is down with the three way. :smokin:
Well, in that case, my apartment is about to get REALLY clean! I'm moving out!0 -
I clean everyday, too. As soon as I pop up out of bed, that sucker gets made. And all the other stuff you named sounds pretty much like what I do daily. I hate dirt and despise clutter.0

Yeah, it makes it a lot easier to do I think if you keep up on it. Then it doesn't seem so daunting.
& Amanda, you better at least be good at makin' sammiches or something. Either that or the bedroom thing better be enough skill to carry you. I rate harshly, no pass/fail in my bed!
Edited because I derped on your name. I am a bad person! :sad:0 -

^^This. I have 5 kids, and they are required to help. It gets done so much faster that way. And we do the thorough week-long spring/fall cleaning sessions twice a year.
***Edited because I can't spell on Fridays...0 -
I get maid service myself!0

Everyday I tidy and clean as needed but on a weekly basis the house gets the heavier cleaning.0

I have no idea what the norm would be because I have been on both ends of the extreme, but I am glad to see that I am not, in fact, a freak. Well I am, but I'm not a freak in terms of cleaning too much. Additionally, what is your favorite/least favorite task?
I think my favorite would be mopping and sweeping, and my least favorite is definitely dishes. Esp silverware. It ****in' sucks.0 -
I'm a clean freak as well.0

I used to work at Subway, I'm basically a natural at making sammiches. Actually, I got hired at Subway and then had to turn down that position for another. BUT I HAVE POTENTIAL!
Oh, and of course I can cook, why do you think I got fat in the first place?0 -
Couldn't imagine not having a clean home !!! everyday !0

I'm usually not okay with inviting people to the party without discussion, but he's cute so I will let this one slide. :laugh:0 -
We do heavy cleaning every Sunday. That includes scrubbing the toilet, vacuuming and washing all the floors and finishing laundry. But daily we do dishes, garbage, laundry.
I hate doing dishes, but i don't mind doing laundry. Thank god my fiance is an awesome teammate. He does the dishes and the floors, i do everything else0 -
I do as much cleaning as my kids will allow! We try to keep a relatively tidy home. I vacuum twice a week, clean the bathroom once a week, and do about 3 loads of dishes every single day. I hate to have a messy kitchen so it's probably the cleanest room in the apartment lol. I don't dust all that often (even though I want to) simply because I don't have time. Between the preschooler and the infant, my time is limited.0

Can I borrow him? lol. My fiance doesn't clean at all, but he is the only one working right now so I let it slide. When I get a job though, he best be prepared!0 -

Hush dear, the ladies are talking :flowerforyou:
All in good fun! In reality I am happily in a committed relationship so I do hope no one takes me seriously.
Ah who am I kidding, of course no one takes me seriously!0 -
Not enough, according to my wife. I believe in quality not quantity.0
-
Umm. Clean?
I try to keep up with the dishes. I think I have a vacuum around here... somewhere.
I moved bedrooms this winter. I'm pretty sure there was enough dog hair under the bed to make a whole new dog. And I think there is some form of new live evolving in my toilet.
Basically, minimal.0 -

Oh also I clean a lot. And I bake. I'm like level 60 housewife.0 -
I clean every single day, And I love it because its a good workout that uses both arms and legs and it gives me a relaxing feeling that I can sit and do my work peacefully! XD0

I'm pretty neurotic and obsessive about cleaning. I'm a full-time SAHM and housewife so I feel like if I don't have a clean house I'm a.) not being a great mom for my toddler and b.) doing a bad job at my "job". I'm actually "on break" right now and going to go back to cleaning when I'm done posting this lol.
I grew up with a mom who was a pack-rat. Our house was not dirty like "unclean" but it was always kind of cluttered and unorganized. I hated it! I moved out as soon as I graduated HS at 17 lol.
For me I feel like there's so many benefits to having a clean uncluttered home that they far outweigh any "un-wantingness" or an aversion to cleaning. I have grown to enjoy the act of cleaning quite a bit and the feeling when I'm done with my chores every day make me feel proud and accomplished. I know that I am fulfilling my half of the commitment to my husband to make sure that he and my son are well taken care of while he works to support us.
If there was a chore I would say that I liked the least it would be sweeping and mopping. We have a lot of solid surfaces in our house (a 2000 sq. ft. tri-level plus basement) and though I like the hygienic part of limited carpeting, vacuuming is SO MUCH easier, lol.0
