Women and Men... Who would you approach?

If you were going to walk up to someone and strike up a conversation... who would you approach?

Someone who looks like a model?
Someone who is of average looks?
Someone with less than average looks?
Someone who smiles at you, regardless of their looks?

Please explain why.

Note: the end goal is not necessarily to get into their pants, but maybe start a dialog that could be the start of something.

Personally.. I will talk to anyone who smiles at me. But I am much less likely to approach someone who is incredibly good looking.

I seem to have this inferiority complex in my head that makes me think that the incredibly good looking people wouldn't want to talk to me.

-someone reading a book I love. To compliment them on their taste.
-someone eating something delicious. To ask for a bite.
-anyone I see after I just PR'ed on a lift. To brag.
-someone doing something wrong. To correct them.
-someone in a bar. To be complimented.

person who smiles at me, of course. They seem to be conveying something with meaning. Looks don't really mean much (unless it's artistic self expression... I do talk to people with certain tattoos or certain t-shirts or fashion sense that conveys a certain attitude about life... for example, I talk to crusty punks.).

I would approach any of them and start a conversation with any of them as long they look friendly and in the conversing mood.

But the hot one is more likely.

I generally don't approach really good looking people either. I actually don't really approach people at all. People make me nervous, even if they're not especially good looking, because chances are they're not as akward as me.
So, yeah, I'm no help. Sorry.

In general, anyone who smiles or is remotely friendly looking. I'm not intimidated by anyone, so it just has to do with who seems easiest to approach.

It all depends on my mood. If I'm feeling feisty, I'll approach someone that looks like they just tasted a lemon and engage them until they are in a better mood. If I'm in a friendly mood, I'll talk to anyone.

I'm likely to approach someone who has an accent or isn't an American (obviously I'd have to hear their accent), am always fascinated by other cultures.

Likely the person who smiles at me and shows some interest. A few years ago I wouldn't have dreamt of approaching someone that is really good looking because I figured I wasn't good looking enough. Now that I am less of an idiot, I have learned that personality counts for quite a bit. I will even at times strike up a converation with a good looking girl if I notice her reading something that I have read or if I happen to catch her glancing at me. Although, to be honest, I am too shy most of the time.
