Here's one of my corsets. pardon the fact that the sun seems to be dissolving my arm on the left, my webcam is really bad with bright lights and there was a window behind me.
Wow! Never really seen one before...only heard about them.
There is something really sexy about this pic. Really sexy.
love it
Indeed. I adore corsets.
I'm sorry, I must now leave this thread. I cannot look at this picture without thinking naughty thoughts.0 -
I posted a thread about this ages ago, and its something I am now finally going to try. I am so looking forward to it, I have a natural hourglass shape and have had a couple of basques but am getting a steel boned longline waist training corset quite soon.....
I am very excited :happy:0 -
JUST GOT MY FIRST CORSET!!! It's not *HIGH* quality, but it's seems to be good quality for being $60 (GOT IT ON SALE FOR $35!!! Apparently not everyone likes "orchid" purple!). One thing that I've already noticed is that although it was laced properly (to the center), the laces are crappy so I'm going to replace them. I've only worn it once so far, for about an hour, trying to mold it to my gorgeous body :blushing:0

has anyone tried a corset from "What Kate Did" I've been drooling over their corsets but haven't taken the plunge yet.
I do make corsets, and study methods of corsetmaking. I can say a couple of things about the corsets from WHATKATIEDID. While the constructions may or may not be solid- though without information on what type of boning is used I cannot tell. My biggest concern with their corsets, however, is that they are only sized by the waist measurement. Unless you have an extremely standard body (which I do not) you will probably have problems with fit through the underbust, ribs and hip areas. For the price, you can easily go to www.corsetmaker.com (Isabella's Corsetry) or Romantasy Corsetry and have a made to measure corset made for you many designs, fabrics and embellishment options. Romantasy's least expensive corsets are underbust corsets and Run about $175, while some of their overbust styles start at about $350. In my opinion it is totally worth the cost to have one made for you... you will get a more positive experience.0 -
@bleedingjesu holy hell girl! Dayummmm! Haha :P
I've decided to start waist training as I have no figure! I bought mine off corsets-au for $60aud down from $150 I think, so it's quite good quality I absolutely love it! Definitely will take a while to get used to though.
Also if this helps anyone I used this YouTube video to learn how to put it on by myself.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZJL8AVhp0I
I'm gonna do some googling but if anyone has any advice on how often to wear it etc it would be much appreciated0 -
So I've been thinking about waist training for a couple of weeks and turns out, I could'nt get the idea out of my head. Thought I might just let it run it's course :smokin:
So after much research and tooooo many youtube vids I settled on Orchard Corset's Steel Boned Underbust model CS-305
http://www.orchardcorset.com/corsets/steel-boned-underbust-satin-corset-cs-305/
I have a cheesy plastic boned cincher like thing that I bought quite a while ago that never looked good on me. Whaddaya know, dropped 20+ pounds and it looked fantastic. This is what made me decide to try a steel boned corset for waist training.
I'm a natural hourglass shape so I'm hoping that even though I still have a bit to lose, I can try this out to see if it's for me. Wish me luck!!0 -
I love wearing corsets, have made several, and have had some corsets made to fit me, however I am much too athletic for waist training.
P.S. If you're in range of San Francisco, Dark Garden does an excellent job with custom corsets.0 -
I don't have the serious steel-boned ones, just the laced-up leather and brocade sort that goes with my Ren Faire clothing, but the waist training thing sounds interesting, indeed it does.....0

I love corsets but i can't get any nice ones in my size yet. it's a must have once i shed the weight0

Booo...I'm on the East coast
Would've LOVED to find a corsetiere locally though, I'm in NY and it's just too much of a specialist thing to find here on Long Island. I'm a little concerned about mobility but I plan to break it in slowly as I've only ordered one so far. I shouldn't have too much trouble though, I'm hoping it won't adversely affect my weight training... ::shrug::
A good deal of the weight I lost was visceral fat. It's gotta be because when I put on shapewear now, it actually shapes me rather than displace my flesh and give me fresh new rolls like it used to :ohwell:
I upgraded to faster shipping so I'm hoping to start the beginning of next week. My natural waist is 34" so I got the 30. When I get down to the 30, I believe there I'll stay. Currently, my chest is 39" and my hips are 39" so I don't want to end up looking freakish.:laugh:0 -
DUH.
Orchard Corset is on THE Orchard Street in Manhattan :noway:
Crap. I could've picked it up myself :ohwell:
And am I the only one who feels stupid that all the vintage styles with the teeny waists were not because women were naturally smaller (so much) in the 50's or so but because corseting was used to get the accentuated hourglass??!!!!:ohwell:
I can't believe I hadn't put 2 and 2 together before0 -
I used to make corsets for myself when I worked at a Ren Fest through college! I travel too much to sew any right now, but I'm hoping to get some time to make an awesome Steampunk corset this winter that I drew up several months ago! I've never done it for waist training.0

I had no idea corset training was even a thing, I still don't believe it, but you look shapely to me

Just putting my 2c in. just found the thread.. :P. Havn't read it all yet..
But I have 3 steel boned corsets atm.. one underbust, and 2 overbust sweetheart. From the same site even. But they all fit slightly differntly depending on the fabric etc. For waist training. I much prefer the underbust. I dont have a natural waist as such. I am an apple shape. So corsets give me what mother nature did not. :P. And slowly I will get me a waist
Also.. for the nz or aussie gals.. (or guys) www.corsets-au.com is the place I get mine from Enjoy0 -
Here's a pretty cool read entitled 'How did 1950s models get such tiny waists? The low down on waist training'

I have been looking into getting a steel boned corset but I have no idea what size I need to get. Underbust or overbust, short or long? So many options!! I have no figure at all. When Im at my ideal weight my friends usually say I look like a stick with big boobs. Wasn't really looking into doing corset training even though it does sound like it would benifit me. I really just want to look good in a tight fitting dress. Any advise? Im currently looking at Corset-story, they have a huge selection.0

I bought a training corset from Orchard Corsets, model CS-305
http://www.orchardcorset.com/corsets/steel-boned-underbust-satin-corset-cs-305/
I love it. It makes me teeny tiney in the waist. However, once I take it off, I am less happy with my middle
I purchased a size 30 and my natural waist is 34. You're supposed to purchase one that is 4-6 inches smaller than your waist. There's a good deal of information on the Orchard Corset website....I highly recommend it!
I seasoned my corset & was able to comfortably cinch down to 32" and it's super sexeh :blushing:0 -
Was hoping to find a Group on here for corset training but I couldn't find one. Does anyone know if there is a Group on here that has to do with corsets? If not someone who is very knowledgeable about corsets/corset training should start a group. That would be GREAT!! :happy:0

Just finished ordering a CS-305 from Orchard Corsets. Can't wait for it to come in!! I was going to order a size 28 but I talked to a REP there and she suggested I get the 26 instead. I hope it gives me the hour glass figure Im looking for.0
