My Success Isn't a Size 0

I have no idea! It's kind of hard to know what your body is going to do as you get fitter. I thought I was a super-pear, but as I have lost weight, my measurements and shape are changing quite a bit. There are things I was certain about my body that were not true. I didn't think my butt could shrink. Much to the dismay of its fans, it is shrinking fast!
I always believed my sister and mom were "naturally petite" and I was "naturally thick." I also thought I had bigger boobs than them and they wouldn't go anywhere... My "curvy" days are over at a size 6, so I may as well keep working and see where I end up. I am at a healthy weight now but am curious what size I will I will like the best. I'm guessing a size 2/4. I'm aiming for "lean and mean" now- I want to look strong and be able to do more pull-ups.
I didn't have a great deal of weight to lose- it must be a total trip to watch your body change on a more dramatic loss. Great thing about goals- no reason you can't change them!0 -
I hear you and although there is no such thing as big boned there is such thing as curvy! before my kids i weighed 150 and was a size 9/10 and i was okay with that i would of looked pretty darn sick if i would of lost anymore!! that is my goal now 150.0

I am in England, so this may be all wrong, but I am a size 6 (usually) with a pair of GAP size 0 jeans. They may be generous, inacccurate or only for idiots, but I get one hell of a kick when I wear them. :happy:0

I'm 5'7, and was at my best and healthiest at size 9/10 in jeans, small to medium tops. I worked a very physically demanding job and was all lean muscle. I would be overjoyed to be that size again, and saved a favorite pair of jeans from that era of my life for when I make it there.
Any thinner than that, and I look frightening. When I first moved out at 18, and didn't eat much (due to working minimum wage and barely making rent, and having maybe $15-$20 a week to eat) I was maybe a size 6 and trust me, I didn't look good.
What works for some, doesn't work for others.0 -
My goal when I started was to get down to 135lbs and be a size 6 bottom (down from 171lbs and a size 14 jeans). Here I am today, after an incredible few months of losing weight and really learning my body, and I'm 124lbs and a size 2-4 bottom. Never thought this is where I'd be, but I'm learning to go with it and enjoy it Now my focus has shifted from weight loss to figuring out my maintenance sweet spot, develop healthy eating habits and also strength training. After that we'll see what happens, but I'm thinking it will involve weight training0

My goal is not a size... my goal is to be able to look in the mirror and smile because I'm happy with what I see!!
This! I'm finally there again. What we all need to remember is that there is no such thing as a "standard size" anymore. My jeans are a 12, the work pants I have on today are a 14, and I have a pair of walking shorts that are a 2! What matters is being healthy...I can haul my butt up 5 flights of stairs and not be gasping for air when I reach the top now. And the compliments...are awesome.0 -
I am a size 6 and I love it. I just wish I could lose more belly. I don't want to drop too much more weight - maintaining 139 at this point - because I like my curves!0

There shouldn't even be a size ZERO! A size 12 at a normal store will do just fine!
?? Shouldn't be a size zero for nobody? Why?
You realize some females are naturally petite, right?0 -
Your goals are your goals, and as long as you don't go around body shaming those that are smaller and/or have size 0 as their goal, I say more power to you.
Nicely said, I agree.0 -
I looked anorexic at 114 lbs, and I was wearing a size 2. I would like like a downright skeleton at a size 0. I haven't worn that since I was thirteen. Right now, I'm floating between an 8 and a 10, and would like to be a size 6 again. I'm 5'7", and that's about right for me and my bone structure.0
-
I would need surgery to get to size 0, my hips are too wide. I already feel my hip (pelvis) bones and I'm not gonna get much "narrower". I'm already at a smaller size than I ever have been in my Adult life (16) and will be more than happy settling for 10-12. I honestly am setting my GW for 160-170 pounds, which I know for some is too "large", but for me I think will be maintainable and a healthy size.0

I'm comfortable where I'm at right now (size 3-5). It's where I've always ranged besides 7yrs ago when I dropped down to a size 0. I looked like a skeleton then and even had people ask me if I eat. My friends would vouch for me that they've seen me plow through plates at buffets. My job back then was high activity so was the only reason I ever dropped so much weight. I like being fit/lean. Your body, size/weight/muscles, should be all in what you want and not what you think society finds acceptable. Rock your body wherever you are comfortable at.0

I have a very odd build. thicker on top and smallish on bottom. I look like an Ice cream cone. LOL As for sizes I'd like to be a 4 again. I looked good at that size.0
-
This is usually the stuff people tell themselves so they will be comfortable giving up later on when things get too hard. Don't give up at 12. I'm curvy too and I have big thick bones and I still looked better in 4's than I did in 6's (which I feel incredibly awesome in).0

I know some rocking and curvy size 0 women, I can't speak for any others but the one's I know are Jazz dancers and you would not want to call them weak to their faces LOL. That being said, I'm ok with knowing that will probably never happen for me. Honestly, when I was 135 lbs I was a size 9. The smallest I've ever been and it didn't look great. People would ask me was I eating all the time (which I was, like a horse actually) because they didn't know I was taking dance classes that were six days a week and several hours at a time. I'm 5' 4 and pear leaning toward hour glass shaped. Most of my weight is carried in my bottom and my chest which made the remaining weight look like next to nothing. It also made anything less than a 9 impossible to wear. I'm looking to feel good in my clothes. To let my legs see the light of day. To wear a form fitting dress without a bunch of undergarment assistance. Whatever size does all that...that's the one I want to be0

My success isn't a size or a certain weight either. I just want to look in the mirror and like what I see. I want to feel comfortable with myself and happy with my size. I haven't felt that in a long time but with 31 lbs down, I'm getting closer! I have never been a size 0, when I met my husband i was 160 and a size 9/10 and i was content.0

BULL****.0 -
Yeah, I don't care about size zero. I have my own goals. It's all just societal propaganda anyway. Thinnest does not equal best. Of course, that's not to say size zero people aren't nice looking, too. No body-shaming intended.0

I also think the " I look good at XX & XX" is a cop-out for MOST ladies.... because they do not have confidence to imagine themselves getting smaller
I'm not sure it's a cop-out, but I do think there's a mental component involved and sometimes it's hard to think of ourselves "that" small.
My current weight goal will have me at about size 14-16 (down from 28-30!) and then I plan to re-evaluate from there.0 -

AGREED and re-evaluation is definitely a great idea
originally, when I started at size 22, I knew I could get to be "that small"...its just now that Im a size 10 and I see myself naked daily, I do not think it is "that small" and definitely desire to get a bit smaller0 -

Same here I will NEVER be a size 0... with how curvy & big boned (very large hip bones) i have, I doubt I'd even be able to button a 0. The lowest ive been was a 3, and I was ridiculed for being too skinny :grumble: ! I think i would LOVE love LOVE to be in at least a 6, considering I am an 10/12 right now ! Each body is different, some of us just are not ever gonna be that tiny, and that is A-Ok0
-
I'm a UK12 which is a US 8 and I'm curvy. I reckon I could get down to a 6 but that's as small as I can get without it making my face look gaunt. I'm a few lbs heavier than my smallest size ever 10 years ago, and I was starting to look too thin then. I can wear all the same clothes now, but I have much more defined muscles now, but still have a mummy tummy from my 2 kids!
My waist could probably get about 2 inches smaller at the most.
I think some people are naturally a size 0 though and look great, but I don't think anyone should aspire to be that size just to say they are. We should aim to look good and healthy.0 -
im a size 5/6 id be happier at a 4 though0
-
Totally agree. One of my good friends is like BEYOND tiny and a size 0 is a very healthy size for her. In fact, if she were to gain a little weight and get up to a size 4 or a 6, which is still smaller than I am, she would probably look a little heavy. Just her body type (she's also like 4'11"). Me, on the other hand, the last time I was a size 0 was when I was 18 and I was not healthy at ALL. When I was that small, I had my father constantly trying to take me out to dinner because he was worried I wasn't eating (which, honestly, I wasn't really). Another friend of mine is about 5'10" and solid. Not fat at all, but her smallest size when she's in great shape is typically around an 8 or a 10, and she looks amazing.
For me, a size 4 is probably the smallest that would be reasonable for me to be and still have the muscle definition that I want. That's pretty much my goal right now, to be somewhere around there. I have your classic curvy figure with a big chest and hips, but my waist is pretty small (first place for me to notice weight loss is always my waist). And I'm SO okay with that. I'm about an 8 right now, and honestly if everything was firm but still this size, I'd be perfectly happy with being a size 8 too! I have a pretty small frame (my wrists and joints are all really small), but I've got some serious hips and thighs. Btw, even when I was at a size 0, my thighs touched. I can't even get a thigh gap when I'm unhealthy looking!0 -
My goal is 25-23% body fat with an ample amount of muscle.
At my very thinnest, when I had strangers providing me literature about anorexia (true story - I was naturally thin at the time), I was a size 6. I don't feel energetic or healthy at that small though - the smallest I've felt comfortable at as an adult is an 8.
Right now I'm a 12, so I'll probably end up in a 10 (or maybe even an 8) but that's not my ultimate goal.0 -
I have a small frame, and I am in a 3/4 right now. I'm not satisfied with my body yet, however the weight loss isn't what I'm concerned about at this point. It's the fitness part of it all, trying to firm my belly up and if I lose more inches and end up in a size zero, I will still have curves. I have boobs and a booty. I'm already wearing a Junior's small top. I am a 34 D bra.0
-
I'm a size 8, and a large frame....but hate these posts. Kudos to you, but can you imagine how hurtful this could be to a smaller framed woman whose goal is that (which you laugh at?)0
-
I don't think she's laughing it those women. I think she's affirming that we should all be comfortable in our own skin.0
