I have been on track with my eating & excersing but it seems like ever since I've started MFP I've been going A LOT less then I normally do. I feel bloated! HELP!

Try warm coffee with lots of creamer and sugar, prunes, or benefiber.

After you do go, finally, you'll called SmellyMel instead lol.

    hahahaha :blushing:

It's normal and will correct itself over time. Your body is just adjusting to the new diet.

    -Drink lots of water
-Make sure you're getting enough fiber
-Make sure you're eating AT LEAST 1200 cals (more cals if you're working out)
-A cup of coffee always helps for me :)

    AGREE!

This might be TMI but I have suffered my entire life with this issue until now......I do three simple things and it works like a charm. First, I make sure I eat at least 5-7 serving of fruit and veggies a day (no more than 2 fruit), second, I make sure I take omega and fish oil every day at least twice a day and last....I drink a ton of water (14+ cups a day). It will take about a week or two to get your body on the right track. Prior to eating like this, I ate a ton of fiber but it was all from grains....it totally blocked me up. The fiber from veggies is what really helps me. Benefiber used to help me occasionally too but I really like my new method. No more painful tummy or bloated feeling. Also make sure you are getting up and moving...exercise is a great remedy.

Open your diary, it's a lot easier to answer questions on here when we can see what the person is putting into their bodies.

More fiber needed, maybe? Do you drink water?

Yes!!!! I take fiber sups, and pound a lot of water or I get into trouble!

Hmmm... then I have a question. I've been doing JumpstartMD since end of march, lost over 30 pounds, but my movements have been only every few days or so and have been "rabbit like." Been drinking more than 8 glasses of water every day and have been eating at least 25 grams (usually more) of fiber every day. This past week, went on vacation to Maui, ate a TON of fruit and regular food (including some bread and rice ... not much, but haven't eaten any since starting JumpstartMD) and actually had two normal BMs which to be honest, felt normal. It took almost one week to become "normal" but I am restarting my JumpstartMD tomorrow. I am not going to not continue with my plan, so anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I think I will look for the smooth move tea and maybe try Metamucil (?) but I have been also using those Fiber Chews which also have not been helping.

Thanks anyone and everyone for you help in advance!

For IMMEDIATE relief, you can try Magnesium Sulfate, you get it at any drug store in a glass or plastic bottle, look on the bottom shelf in the laxative section....it tastes like ASSSS, but drink the whole thing and you will be in the bathroom in 30-60 min!! and ALL cleaned out! With out a lot of cramping!

MiraLax is great too! I use the generic brand and it works well! It takes a day or two, and just helps everything along, it does NOT make you have to go.

I swear by mangoes to stay regular. LOL You might try miralax its pretty gentle and makes milk kinda thickened a bit like a milk shake and has no change to flavor really. Or you can put it in food if you prefer.

Definitely increase water. The fiber foods and even miralax work best with lots of water to help push it through. This is what my daughter's pediatrician helped explain because she wasn't drinking a ton of water so even though I mixed miralax with her soy milk she drank lots of water after to help get things moving.

Another good thing is a good probiotic and yogurt. Probiotics help for both extremes and just in general GI health.

Drink aloe vera gel i's amazing for regulating your bowel movements

10 reasons why it's so good for you

1- By drinking Aloe Vera Gel with all it's important ingredients (often now deficient in food) including 19 of the 20 amino acids nned by the human body and 7 of the 8 ones that just can not be made, the body is able to get enough to allow complex enzyme systems to work well. This means the body can function at 100%. The net result to the individual is a wonderful feeling of wellbeing. Aloe vera is one of the best nutritional supplements available!!!

2 - Aloe Vera is a useful source of vitamins containing in it a trace of Vitamin B12, it contain Bgroup vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and folic acid

3 - Aloe Vera is a useful source of minerals as it contains, calcium, sodium, potassium, copper and zinc.

4 - Aloe Vera effects the gut flora as it is a natural 'balancer' in many areas and no more so than inside the gut, where it tends to regulate the various bacteria and yeasts that inhabit it.

5 - Aloe Vera effects the Musculoskeletal system as certain substances in the aloe, such as the slicylic acid and the plant sterols are able to soothe muscles and maintain healthy joints, mobility and flexibility

6- Aloe Vera increases the activity of fibrob;lasts which are specialised cells found in the skin. Their job is to produce fibre such as collagen and elastin. These fibres give the skin its structure and of course, make it look plump and elastic. The more have, the younger your skin looks

7 - Aloe Vera effects the skin as when they are first produced deep in the epidermis, skin cells are rather large and very much alive, but by the time they reach the surface after 21-28 days (in normal skin), they are a shadow of their former selves and are transformed into just thin flakes of keratin which eventually fall off. ALoe Vera Gel provides the assential nutrition to feed the basal cells. Therefore the skin remains healthy and is able to perform its vital functions more efficiently - as well as looking much better!

8 - Aloe Vera balances the immune system, among the substances identified in aloe vera is a long chain sugar (polysaccharide) that is known to have an effect on the cytokine system - the chemical messengers of the immune system. Therefore it can act in a way that balances the system and so it be considered and can be called an immunomodulator.

9 - Aloe Vera assists in healthy digestion, a healthy digestive tract ensures that nutrients from the food we eat are absorbed into the bloodstream. There is clear, clinical evidence that by drinking Aloe Vera Gel the bowel is able to absorb these nutrients more efficiently, especially protein.

10 - Aloe Vera effects the gut as it has a wonderfully beneficial action on bowel function which results in smooth and efficient transit of contents resulting in a softer bulkier stool, making it easier to pass.

Ughh, I'm usually on iron supplements for anemia AND I'm a total cheese addict so I feel your pain. I track fiber on here now too and use chewable gummy fiber supplements whenever I'm under 25mg/day... and also drinking a TON of water helps. I love the chocolate ex lax chews for emergencies though, they don't taste bad!! I can't stand feeling bloated!

You really need to look back over your diary and examine your food choices(if all other variables are the same, i.e. exercise, work, etc) keep up the water intake and providing you're not sensitive to them lot's of dark leafy greens, zucchini, kale.

Try putting a little olive oil on a salad, or cook some veggies with it!
