I got 27% using the military calculator. I'm 5'7 and 153 pounds. How accurate is this method? I'm not brave enough to post pics quite yet -_-

    Thanks for this post!

I'm 166cm (5ft4) and 57kg (125lb) and my BF% is 25% according to an electronic scales at my gym.

My profile picture is the only one i have.

I think the BF% highlights that different people have very different builds and carry the weight in different areas, which just isn't considered in BMI

I had my bf checked using a digital scale about a month ago and it was 26% - this pic was taken a couple of weeks ago and I've been eating a cleaner diet and have been working out a lot harder. I think my bf% is lower than 26 but I don't know. I am 5'10.5"

I get so confused. You look very much like me (although you are a couple of inches taller), but when I had mine checked two diff. ways the average was 31%!! I really didn't think I was that high on the bf%, but I don't know.

    According to: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html#accurate

    You have 27.5% body fat.

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/ 26.8% body fat so pretty close on both.

I am 5' 5.5" 172lbs 33yrs old..... yes my goal is 148lbs any suggestions? Gained 4 pounds in the last 3 weeks trying to eat within my cal of 1550... burning almost 2000 calories every week via HRM (strength train 1 day, spinning 2 x, zumba 1 x) workout more? I don't know. :(

    being brave....

    156lb37.jpg

    30 years old, 5'2" 155lbs
My home scale says 37-38%, the health central site says 25%, army calculators say 37%. My visual guess is mid-low 30's? I think I'd be happy to get into the mid 20's. I work out 5 days a week, mostly cardio.

edit: pretty sure I did the code properly, but no luck. here's the link: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z75/lyndseed/my fitness pal pics/156lb37.jpg

    No pics...Sorry. I am 5'2" and 169lbs (TOM...My excuse...lol)

    Military bf% = 42.4% BF

Home body fat test = 29.0% BF

    BMICalculator.net = 27.5% BF

An average of the 3 BF% = 33% BF (I guess I will go with that one)

ETA: With calipers = 32% BF

The average of all 4 = 33% BF as well....I will still go with this number for me...I hope it's right I think..lol

I'm 5'4" and 101 lbs., and military calculators give me 13% to 15%. I would guess methods other than measuring tape would give me a higher percentage. I'm a recovering anorexic -- don't be skinny-flabby like me! Anorexics tend to have a higher BF% than you would think due to deterioration of muscle mass.

The day I got CALIPERED at 19.8% my Tanita digital scale (foot pads only) read 34%. Those things are a joke in my case.

Do you think the Tanita is inaccurate? My gym uses that and it has my bf% as 28% but I feel leaner than that. Maybe I should have the caliper thing done. I have been clocking in hours at the gym and eating lots of protein to get that number to go down.

I'm 28% according to the military body fat calculator online. I'm 5'7 and 153 lbs.

Okay so... according to THIS link: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html#accurate

...I'm 22.4% body fat.... something's not adding up! Haha. I really have no idea now. I'm going to have to go and get some calipers because clearly these equations are quite variable.

I don't know what body fat % I am. Military says 40%, Covert Bailey Body fat says 24.2% and Fat 2 Fit original Calculator says 27.5%? That's a huge gap. >.<

    Pic taken this morning:

I'm probably closer to 40% since I'm still pretty big. *sigh*
