    I always thought I was 5'2 but I've starting shrinking, down to 5'1 1/2.

Do you weight train? maybe it's not the pounds that you want to lose, but excess fat that you'd rather turn into muscle? I recommend lifting weights if you don't already.

I'm 5'4" and started at 127, now at 114. I wanna lose 5-9 more pounds. People think I am crazy, and when I tell them I just want to be healthy, they look at me like I am some fitness nut! And maybe I am, but I never use to be! I enjoy watching what I eat and exercising, makes life less boring (and I look better doing it!)
I am 32 years old and my ideal weight should be around 111. I want to get down to 105 to learn the discipline it takes, and then bring it back up to 110-111 and maintain!

    Power to the short people!

You're my dream height!!!! lol but if you're 114 now and 2 inches taller than me, I'm def gonna need to stalk your pictures and see how great 114 looks on you! Then that can help me judge how great 112 will look on me! haha

    i am a teeny bit under 5ft 3 - do i count? lol
I weight 121 pounds. I also get told i dont need to lose weight but i have a wobbly belly and lost my thigh gap and i am doing this for me.
I am finding that its hard work trying to lose such a small amount, i dont eat much and cant excercise due to commitments...so fustrating.
  • I'm 5'2" and a half. ;)
I'm a little over 100 pounds into my weight-loss and always looking for new inspiration. Totally up for forming a group, friending, etc.

I'm 5'2" and started at 118 lbs in October. Most people wouldn't think that's heavy, but I know my body better than they do and it definitely felt like I was carrying extra weight around. Even though I'm only 8-9 pounds lighter these days it feels like a huge difference and I've had to go down a size in clothing.

The worst part about being short is that the weight comes off very slowly! Don't be discouraged if you only lose a pound every month or two. That's normal and healthy for women our size.

I'm 5 2.75, but I round up to 5'3. I also get the you don't need to lose any more weight lecture. I am not really that concerned about weight, but I have some extra jiggle as well I'd like to be rid of.

I'm 5'2 also. I started of weighing 171 and through Insanity have lost 15 pounds I have 1 and a half weeks until I'm done so I'm super excited to start my second round of insanity :) My goal weight is 120 but once I reach 130 I want to re evaluate my goal. Feel free to add me I feel like most women on this site are giants compared to me lol
  • I am 5'2", and now weighing 180. so on top of being currently overweight, i also had a hard time getting clothes to fit me, even when i was slim, so now i feel like my only option is a short pair of curtains. :p.
  • I'm 5'2" as well. I'm 119 heading toward 110. I'm going to turn 27 this fall. I figure the older I get, the harder it's going to be to keep it off, so I had better start now. I’ve been told that I don't need to lose weight way too often. I hate it when people refer to me as thin, slim, slender, or any other synonymous adjective. Just because I'm not overweight does not mean I'm fit!
  • Hi Mila!

I'm 5'1, shorter than you! :) I was 125 when I first started tracking my calories/exercise here on MFP and now am 119 and some change. I've found that it is easier to track inches lost and base my success on that esp since I do weight training.

One thing is for sure, I definitely feel stronger and healthier in general! :)

    Keep up the good work!

    Was 5'2"... after 4 kids later, I'm 5' and 1.25" :noway:
Currently training for a triathlon. I need a good outlet to deal with my stress of being divorced single parent to 4 kids. I'm fluctuating between 145-149 lbs but aiming to get down to 130 lbs before I re-evaluate. It's those last 10-15 lbs that seems to love to kick me my aft. This time last year I was wearing size 13/14 jeans and now at size 7. Trainers think I can get down to a comfortable size 4 or even size 2 depending on how hard I train. I can't wait to see how much I can push my body to its limits. At this point, I'm more interested in getting my body fat percentage between 16-18% so I know. Sometimes you just have to rethink things. You may be at 120 lbs with over 22% body fat or 120 lbs with less than 20% body fat. What it boils down to is, body composition changes things. A body with more muscles takes less space than a body with more fat in it.
  • 4'10"... ahaaaaa

I like the way you're thinking, but let's all keep in mind it is not possible to turn fat into muscle. Two different actions are require to get the deisred effect we're all looking for: Cardio to melt the fat, and weight training to build the muscle!

Great advice! It does take longer. I think it's because we don't need as many calories daily, so it's almost impossible to lose weight by dieting. It's all up to our workouts.

I'm 5'0"... I also could care less if people think my goal is "unhealthy". I have a small frame ontop of being short and 105 IS a good weight for me. I have asked numerous real-life experts, not internet experts, or friends who are feeling a little green, so I'm going to go with the expert opinion.

I don't have many photos :ohwell:
However....my problem area is my belly...I have a bump I can't get rid of! The more weight I lose, the smaller I get, but I feel my "shape" stays the same! I started the 30 DS today to try and lose some of those belly inches! I am going to friend you, then we can compare pics some day!

I am 5'2 (obviously) and it seems like I'm the absolute shortest person on this entire site :( I weigh about 120 and want to lose around 8 pounds and get toned but when people hear that I want to lose weight, they think I'm crazy and tell me I shouldn't be counting calories, blah, blah, blah and I personally don't think I'm fat by any means, but it wouldn't hurt me to lose a few pounds! I have extra jiggle in the middle and some massive thighs (for my height) that I'd like to slim down a bit. I thought, "Hey! Wouldn't it be swell if I had some friends on here around my height to compare with and get some tips from?" I just feel that for my height, I could still lose some weight and still be very healthy! I would be perfectly content with my weight right now if I could grow a couple inches but that's not really an option so....are there any other super short girls out there that would be willing to tell me about their weight and their goals??

FEEL FREE TO ADD ME SHORTIES :)

Hello! I'm 5-foot-three. Lost only three pounds (at the time of posting). I'm in the same boat as you.
