August Daily Step Challenge

Challenge is to do 10,000 steps in a day. You can do this for any one day or try for the entire month. Jump right in at any time! You can set a lower or higher goal if you wish. Our main goal is to keep activate every day!

It's easy to join - Just post here to begin!

You will need a step counter to keep track of your steps and then post your results daily here.

    I'm in for another month. Going to try extra hard not to have a day under 10,000 steps this month.


    Goal: 10,000 minimum steps per day / 350,000 steps in August

    Bonus goal: One day of at least 25,000 steps to set a new record. :smile:

    I'm in. I have been skimping on my steps lately. I want an average of 12000 steps a day for a total of 372000 steps for August.
  • if I can find a pedometer I am with you guys! according to my fitness pal I still have 30 lbs to go

    If you are looking for a step counter, Walmart had some for about $5 that work well.

    June totals: 528,747 steps; 401,817 aerobic steps (3339 minutes); 241.81 miles
    July totals: 546,725 steps; 404,366 aerobic steps (3206 minutes); 250.12 miles

    August goals:
    Daily: A minimum of 13K steps and 11K aerobic steps every single day.
    Monthly: 575,000 steps; 420,000 aerobic steps (3100 minutes); 260 miles.
    Marathon training: Complete an 18-mile walk and a 20-mile walk.
    "C25K" interval training (4+ mph walking instead of running): Increase max pace to 160 steps/min; complete by 08/10
    "21K" interval training (4+mph walking instead of running): Complete through week 3

    Tentatively moving up the timetable for my first marathon. Original plan: Long Beach Half in October, Huntington Beach Full in February. If I hit my training goals for the month, I'm confident I'll be ready for the Long Beach FULL marathon on October 7th.
