3,000 currently.
2,200 when I am trying to lose0 -
If everyone is following MFPs suggested calorie intake, there are very few people eating only 1200 calories per day. 1200 is just the magic number MFP established to avoid "starvation mode".
MFP had me on 1200 losing 1 lb a week. I found I could go about 500 cals higher and still lose a lb a week.0 -
1300-1400....0

Your not alone-1650-2000:-) More on Sundays0

I eat around 1700, but I'm in maintenance so I could eat 2000-2100.0

I eat more sometimes depending on how much I've exercised, but I've been sticking around 1300-1400 every day for the past few weeks, and so far it's working pretty well. I feel a lot better because I'm not eating too much all at once anymore and getting that sluggish, sleepy feeling.0

I eat close to 3000.0

Im at 1790 and try to net 1500+ each day. I work out at least 30 minutes a day and burn 300-500 cals a day. Been losing about a lb a week, slow and steady, dropped 9 inches overall so far, and I think been on this site about 40-45 days!0

Don't know if it's my height but on a losing plan off 1 1/2 lbs a week mine is 1480. My Mum's come out at losing 1lb a week her in take was 1200 so would had to think if she set it higher.0

I was at 1300-1500 and exercising, but not losing anything. Had my metabolism tested and discovered that I needed to up my calories to 1850 as my net. Since doing that I am losing about a pound a week. Never thought I was eating too little to lose:noway:0

I'm at 1790... its hard to get that much in, especially on days that I burn 400. I'm trying to stay under 100 carbs because that is what seems to work.0

I eat 2180, that is with my activity calories included and I have been losing. I am just over 5ft 8, about a size 9 and muscular. I spent a year on MFP eating between 1200-1700 and rarely lost. Whatever I would lose I always gained right back. I lift 3x per week for about a half hour then walk about an hour 6 days a week, most weeks.
Its pretty awesome to be able to eat and lose weight!0 -
I am on between 1400 - 1500 calories a day before working out and I eat most of my exercise calories back too0
-
I'm around 1800 but I was around 1600 for most of my weight loss. good luck0

Up from 1200 to 1350...to 1400..now at 1500 and this is what feels best for me. I feel like I can eat well, be full without being miserable. It is a slow loss, but worth it b/c it's easier to maintain.0

MFP gives me 1880 for 1lb a week loss but I don't usually eat that much.0

Um yes. 1200 is actually far to low for most people, especially active people who aren't eating back their calories.
I'm 5'4" currently somewhere between 125-130. Even at my starting weight of 145, I was eating about 1300 a day. Considering most people are taller or weigh more than me, they will be eating more than that. Now I eat between 1400-1700 a day and usually. More on days I work out.0 -
I'm usually between 1200-1300 or so
I'm not grouchy and I am not depriving myself of anything (except beer & pizza for now)
I make sure i'm over my protein and fiber for the day. For me that's the key.0 -
I am on a 1220 calorie a day limit. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies and there aren't many calories in there. I don't suffer because I'm actually eating stuff that does fill me up and I'm happier and more energetic because my metabolism is up from eating such clean foods. Yes, I do eat breads and pastas, but I cut back SOO much. About a month and a half ago I was eating over 2700 calories a day. I did a diet with someone (cut out all breads, pastas, potatoes, candy and soda) for two weeks and it was the best thing I've ever done. That was the only time I suffered.0

1900 calories here and loving it! I've been losing pretty steadily, too.0
-
Aim for 1320 and if I walk (3 times a week), I tend to eat those calories back simply bc Im hungry.0
-
I'm at 1390 + exercise calories (Most days I burn about 500 during exercise)0
-
I typically do 1500-1700 a day. I tried dropping it to 1300, and I lost for about a week and a half, and then stopped completely. So I upped it again to 1600. On workout days, I eat almost all of my calories back because I don't have a HRM and I go by MFP calculations, which are typically too high.0
-
I am losing steadily at about 1700-2000 a day. That largely depends on exercise though. I'd say my "net" calories are more like 1400-1800. Do what you're doing until it fails really. Some people may have to eat that little for various reasons, but I'm sure I'd be quite the unpleasant person too if I was that hungry!0
-
I don't think I could ever stick to 1200 calories a day. I started out on 1500 a day until I joined here and realised I should have been eating closer to 1900 but with the weight lost that is now around 1700 a day but I manage to accrue another 3000 exercise calories per week too usually :-)0
-
1400 right now, but I'm slowly upping to 1900!0
