    Okay a lot of you guys are really into this and I can only strive to achieve your miles but I am happy with what I (we) accomplished this weekend. I did my first ride of over 10 miles. Hubby rode with me and we did a local trail racking up a whopping 11 miles!

    I'm ecstatic!!!

    Your acclomplishments are great. Some of my best rides this year are shorter ones my wife did with me on a neighborhood trail. We pack a lunch ride 10 or so miles, eat and have a beer and ride back. Don't be imtimated by our miles. Your riding is for your personal goals and your health. You are not competing against us so stay riding, have fun, and keep breaking those goals.

    12 miles of intervals with Coach Troy tonight.
    That bring total mileage for Aug to 28.5 miles.
  • Checking in: My goal is SPIN Bike: 20 minutes 3x a week for week 1

    Ok so I hopped on the bike tonight and I lasted 12 minutes. :embarassed:
    I'm pretty embarrassed to put that out there but I own it.

    I counted 75rpm and kept that speed for most of my ride with less than a minute cool down. Then I stretched for a while

    I have a DVD I'm going to use tomorrow (my husband swears he knows where it is lol) and I think that will make a huge difference in my stamina. I need a proper warm up and cool down with someone telling me to keep the pace, etc, etc.

    I need to go help my husband look for the dvd now :grumble:

    In. I don't have a mileage goal set. I'm just doing a lot of base miles for the upcoming cross season with a weekly visit to the hurt locker.

    Thursday 8/2- 10 miles
    Saturday 8/4- 14 miles
    Sunday 8/5- 17.5 miles (15.1 avg. mph- my best avg. speed yet :)
    Monday 8/6- 8 miles (got a late start and it was getting dark)
    8/7- rest day
    8/8- storming here.... We desperately need the rain, but it means I have to resort to getting my cardio on our elliptical. Boo!

    oh fun! I just bought a stationary bike! this will get me moving! :)) I plan on 30mins a day for now and increase later!

    Just started cycling (using Strava on my Android phone) and found MFP right after that. The fat is melting off, and I couldn't be happier!

    I did my biggest ride yet on Sunday. My house in Los Angeles to Malibu and back (50 miles total). It took almost four hours and really drained me, but it was great fun! I couldn't stand stationary cycling (or other exercise machines); it bores me to tears.

    I did a little over 200 miles in July with my longest ride being 40 miles. I'm going to shoot for 300 miles overall and a single 50 mile ride this month. Just started training for a 100 mile Tour de Cure next April.

  • I'm training for a triathalon in April 2013 that will include a 20 mile hilly bike ride.

    Lucky for me I live by a bunch of hills and have a sorta crappy bike!:laugh:

    How do I pledge? I'd say I'm good for 15 miles a week....but since this is a challenge I'll shoot for 20 miles a week in august!

    Anyways tonight I did 4 miles in 27 mins (remember lots of hills....)

    Usual way is just declare a total mileage you'd like to hit for the month, and a "long ride" goal - so... for example mine is 300 miles in the month, with at least one "metric century ride (100km - or 62.1 miles)" over the month...
