YES!
Chop up a banana and stick it in the freezer for a couple of hours.
Throw in a blender and TAH-DAH! Banana ice cream.
It has the same consistency and texture too.0 -
TCBY frozen yogurt is awesome!0

If you like bananas, you are going to LOVE this one. Cut up a banana in 2" slices. Freeze in a zip-lock bag. Put in a cuisinart and blend until it balls up and is a creamy texture. You can add 1 Tbs cocoa powder if you like, or I get this stuff called PB2 (peanut butter powder) and put 1 tsp of that in too. It has the same texture as ice cream. You would not know it is NOT ice cream. Delicious. You can try a blender, but my blender does not get it the right consistency. Let me know what you think!0

Artic Zero Vanilla Maple.....heaven and only like 4 ingredients.0

haha, I just posted that one! has been a life saver for me. My blender does not mix it to the right conistency though. You might have a better blender. I use my cuisinart food processor.0

This. Once you get the idea, it's easy to add different mix-ins to get the flavor you like. One change I would make to the above recipe is that I've found that adding a little almond milk (or soy or 1% or whatever you drink) makes it a little creamier, almost like soft serve.0 -
Italian Ice- 100 calories, prepackaged in serving size.0

there are some really good diet ice creams from weight watchers or skinny cow that taste so good you'd never know the difference! try those. most are under 200 calories. my favourites are the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches -- 150 calories and delicious.0

when i have cravings for ice cream i eat non fat yogart
I normally freeze it up so it gets to the same consistency as ice cream... i'm telling you its just as good (y)0 -
Weight watchers has an ice cream bar similar to a frozen snickers except it also has vanilla ice cream stuff. They taste so delicious. You should be able to find it in the freezer section where all the other ice cream is.0

I stopped buying containers of ice-cream months ago, when the price increased drastically, and I also found I'd crave it every night after tea if there was some in the freezer. Now I just occasionally treat myself to a McDonald's cream freeze cone, and really enjoy it without feeling guilty! Don't know that there's any good substitutes, but I switched to a piece of fresh fruit for dessert instead :-)0

why substitute it with anything? if you stick to the 1/2 cup serving size you should easily be able to fit it into your goals0

I am a Nestle Skinny Cow girl...they make excellent ice cream sandwiches, fudge pops, ice cream cups, and now they have shakes...I get them in the freezer section at Wal-Mart and love the Mint Chocolate Ice Cream sandwiches. A friend of mine said she has to eat the box, but I find that I am satisfied with one. They are 150 cal. and 3.5 g fat per sandwich and 100 cal. and 2 g. fat per fudge pop. Check them out! I am going to have to give the banana trick a try :happy:0

Those are yummy!0

Weight Watchers has a 140 calorie, ice cream and peanuts thing that is pretty good and Skinny Cow is great.0

frozen banana as others have mentioned.
Right now I am eating a lovely mix of frozen banana, almond milk and peanut butter as my post work out treat.0 -
Nope, a cup of ice cream... if you cannot have the stuff in the house and you want it go buy one of the tiny 1 cup portions at the grocery store... eat ice cream... log it... move on.0

1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
cinnamon
Splenda or stevia
Vanilla extract
and freeze.0 -

this is good. also, i make my own sorbet. Freeze chopped up fruits, like strawberries or grapes, etc. Then put them in a blender/food processor with some milk or soymilk or whatever milky thing you like. I throw in just a drop or two of vanilla extract and blend away. No need for any added sugar it tastes just fine on it's own. If you are using a blender, you may need to pulse it until it is blendable, and you might need to mush it around with a spoon between pulses. I got a food processor to make my life easier but haven't tried it in that yet. Play around with ingredients and flavors. try pistachios and almond extract and make your own pistachio ice cream mmmm i'm going to have to try that haha.
With three ingredients and no added sugars it's the best cold treat that I have found so far.0 -
I have some kind of treat every day, the real thing. I look for ice cream cups, bars, sandwiches, etc. that have no more than 170 cal. I always budget for this.0
-
The skinny cow icecream sundaes are flippin brilliant, they're so indulgent and only have about 105-115 calories per tub. I keep a box in the freezer for moments of weakness... (Or most nights at the moment with my current stress level!!)0

Here's my shpiel on ice cream...
I started out at 290 and now weigh 172. During the first six months plus of my weight loss journey, I woke up, signed in to my food lop, programmed in my ice cream for the day, then ate around that new number knowing all day that in the evening, I got to have a kiddie sized fro yo at my local ice cream stand. I melted the pounds off and never needed to binge or snack on chocolate because I knew the sweet was coming.
Edy's Slow Churned Ice cream comes in an amazingly large array of flavors, is only 120 calories per half cup in most cases, and it kits the damn spot.
I'm big time against denying oneself anything, so make room for that anything and let yourself have it by golly.0 -
Frozen bananas. I just eat them, no blending. If you get those diet ice creams you may find yourself eating more than you would have if you just got the real stuff. Diet food tends to be less satisfying.0
-
I blend my frozen banana with 2 oz Chobani honey yogurt and 1 tbsp creamy peanut butter (and a dash of cinnamon). Super delicious!!0
-
I keep weight watchers bars in the freezer down stairs if I want ice cream
If I need to sit on my couch and eat an entire pint (hello TOM!) Arctic Zero
Because I cant keep any mint chocolate anything in the house when I want mint chocolate chip ice cream and dont want to drive all the way to the ice cream place I mix 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt 1/2 tsp mint extract and 1 tabelspoon dark chocolate chips0
