Stupid things you used to tell yourself.....

"ILL START ON MONDAY!"0

"I'll eat a salad for lunch. That'll balance out my ****show for dinner."0

what's five more pounds...0

So many of these ring true for me.
"I've eaten one oreo, I may as well eat them all, since I'm going to eventually anyway"
After having one bad day, "Well, there goes that diet. I'll start again next week." Like diets can only begin on Mondays.
The biggest one that I was telling myself though, was that the food was making me happy. That I wanted to eat a plate of cheese fries more than I wanted to be healthy. That sure, cleaning up my diet and exercising might add years to my life, but what miserable years those would be without Krispy Kreme. And I had no interest in moderate indulgence, I only got joy from eating until I made myself sick. I can't imagine now ever believing that deep fried lard made me happy. Not to sound cheesy, but I make myself happy. And I still enjoy a doughnut now and then, but it's not the source of all joy in my life.0 -
I definitely do the "I already screwed up my diet today, so I'll just eat whatever I want to get it out of my system and start again tomorrow". Well, a few days later my husband would want Chinese food, and there'd I'd go again!
Friday night he wanted Chinese, and I picked it up for him, and went across the street and got Subway for myself! When there's will there's a way!0 -
"Just one won't hurt"
This is me. And then one turns into 200 -
As long as my boobs are bigger than my stomach I'm ok (Reality check.....your boobs are huge so that's a sucky indicator)
So this.
I've gone down two band sizes and my boobs are still huge, so I know full well my stomach can go down much more :P0 -
it doesn't matter if I lose the weight I still won't be pretty....
and
if I can find someone who loves me for my weight, THEN I can lose it and that person will be meant for me...
no....no...that person is just a different kind of predator...0 -
"I know I'm a little overweight, but some of these women are HUGE! I'll never be that big!" yikes0
-
i must have a medical disorder
i worked out for 30 minutes I'm going to McDonalds.. why am i gaining weight i go to the gym all the time
calories in vs out doesn't matter as long as i go to the gym i'm obviously going to lose weight
a sammich without fries won't fill me up (meanwhile eating all the fries and not the sammich)0 -
I deserve a treat, then that started happening everyday, multiple times a day
lol yesssssss!!!! I still do that sometimes but now I actually look at the calories and make sure its not too high.0 -
I'm guilty of all of these! I think one of my worst is:
"Those skinny girls are just unhealthy. They must starve themselves, or do nothing but work out".0 -
"I'm just not meant to be skinny/pretty" um....what? First, You are beautiful. Second, you an be skinny and healthy, just get off your butt and do it!
"It's just one cupcake. I worked out today, it's fine!" (Yes, it is just ONE cupcake...but you decided against the 'healthier' version so....no)
"I'll start tomorrow" (yeah, you are queen of procrastination, shut up and start now!)0 -
love everyones post at sometime or other i've said most to myself. Mostly it was i'll start working out soon, uhm soon finally got here!!0

As a trainer for lots of years, I used to tell myself the BS that a lot of the Fitness Industry still follows today:
Eat multiple meals to keep metabolism burning
Eat breakfast to "jumpstart" your metabolism
I'm one of those troublemakers that believes, "all science is bunk." Those two lines seem to be working well for me.0 -
"I just need a tan", because im not fat i just look whiter than everyone else so I appeared bigger...:noway:0
-
" I worked out today, a few slices of cheesecake or a huge bowl of icecream wont hurt"
^ This was me.0 -
If I get skinny I'll turn into a snob, and no one would like a snob.. wtf past self? smh*0

Its not my fault, my boyfriend made me quit my job (he didn't) and loves going out to eat
eh i'm already fat whats an extra meal or 2 gonna hurt.0 -
I have to eat what I am given/what I take, even if I am full, wasting food is worse than eating too much.
I need extra food/calorie-dense food to fuel my brain when working hard academically and under stress.0 -
I've got a "large frame".
No I don't...I was just FAT!0 -
"It's a drink, not food so the calories don't count."
"It's easier to find somebody who likes me for me and not my body while I'm fat."
"I eat less and exercise more than my 80lb sister (true) so my metabolism must just be broken."
I need to invent a time machine to go back in time and slap my former self in the face.0 -
" I love food"...umm...I wasn't even stopping to TASTE most of it.0

Not exactly about weight loss, but:
I'm having a bad day, I deserve some crisps.
I'm having a good day, I deserve some crisps.
I'm bored, I'll go buy some crisps.
Yeah...0 -
I used to say: I'll start tomorrow....0

that it was okay for me to drink soda because it was diet0

'I'm not fat compared to him (pointing at a picture of the half ton man)!... '0

If I eat a large pizza with a side late at night (usually after three meals at like 12am) and wake up late it will cancel out. I clearly thought I do workouts in my sleep :P! x0
