I'm always seeing people that I am friends with burning 400-500 calories doing some type of exercise. How are you achieving such high calorie burns? What is your favorite calorie burning workout?

Running or Insanity. I strongly recommend you get at Heart Rate Montior. That's how you know exactly how many calories you are burning which is always more or less than what MFP says you are burning.0

Hands down, running.0

Kickboxing. Depending on my intensity, it's between 600-1000 in an hour.

Hiking. Going up/down a mountain with a backpack on burns LOTS of calories. Last weekend we did 3.2 miles in about an hour and forty minutes. 900+ calorie burn for me.0

Rollerskating burns a ton and it's not boring like running (at least for me) so I can easily go to open skate for 2 hours and burn 500 calories.0

The one that you do at the highest intensity will burn the most cals. So it'll likely be different for everyone.
Personally, it's mountain biking. If I'm going hard I can top 1000 cals in an hour.0 -

treadmill for 60 minutes incline around 8 - 10 and doing 5.5 to 9 on the speed its more high intensity but burns ALOT of calories0

Whatever gets the HR up there the highest for longest period of time.
Usually biking or spin class because it's not hard on the joints and can maintain high HR for extended time.
And can do something the next day.
Running can get up there too, but much harder pounding, so can't do it as long, and if that intense, can't do it the next day.
Walking at stupid high incline actually can too, and much better recovery time, but treadmill only for that.0 -

Cybex Arc Trainer -- It's like a super powered elliptical. I burn about 800 cals an hour on it!0

bodyrock - it is interval training that is high intensity for a short time. Check it out - it is always free! They have a brand new work out every day that you can follow and if you can't keep up, they provide modifications.

High intensity = high calories. It's the only thing you have control over that will affect calorie burn. Unless you start carrying weights around with you I guess.0 -
