Then, late at night, the whole family took part in a "haunted hike" through the spooky downtown area of this city.

Goal: Didn't start out with one; generally, it's a minimum of 10,000 per day, but that got messed up a bit with all the travel and the existential funk I was in for a few days.

400,000 steps for August.
Daily minimum for remaining days: 13,000 steps.
Bring daily average for the entire month up from 11,806 on 13 Aug to at least 13,000 by the end of the month.
Observation: Taking part in this challenge has compelled me to do lots of late night running and walking in order to meet my daily goals and avoid public embarrassment. Which, assuming I am not damaging myself, is a good thing, I guess…0 -

Met my goal total with one day to spare! I'm heading for vacation (Florida!) in about an hour so I'm not sure of my step count for the next 10 days. Visiting family, so no major walking at a place like Disney World or Busch Gardens. I will try my darnedest to get my steps in though!0 -

Observation 2: Only a few hundred steps to go to meet my 400,000 step goal today, but I'm going to try to meet my 13,000 step goal for today anyway. Because I'm a maniac. Yes.
Tip: When I'm out with the whole family in the car, I sometimes get them to drop me a few miles from home so I can get some extra steps in. The kids think this is a hoot!0 -
