    She's uptight OR modest :mad: ??? Maybe she doesn't feel the need to show strangers her half naked body and maybe she doesn't have any interest in seeing other people posting their half naked bodies :mad: I've seen MANY tasteful photos showing before and after shots where the person is in a well fitting swim suit or bikini. There are ways to do it without spilling out of something or intentionally putting pasties on and calling it good.
    Please explain the difference between underwear and a bikini.

    Please explain why it isn't acceptable to wear your underwear to the beach/pool/lake/out on the streets/to work etc...... and you've answered your own question. Underwear it UNDERwear not outerwear.
    IDGAF if people wear their underwear outdoors, so again, please explain how they are any different. Either way, it's the first piece of clothing over your skin and for the most part, underwear covers more. You're coming off as a post-menopausal prude.

    The biggest difference between underwear and a bathing suit is that not everyone owns a bathing suit.

    Up until 2 years ago, it had been over 10 years since I bought a bathing suit. I didn't go on a beach vacation. I didn't got to water parks. I didn't own a pool. I didn't (and still don't) tan. There was no reason for me to own one. And I bet that applies to a lot of people.

    I don't see what the big deal is, as long as someone's "naughty bits" are covered and the garment isn't transparent. I know it's against the site's guidelines now, but it wasn't always. And the even sillier part of that is that this site earns revenues from ad banners that sometimes have underwear or lingerie.

    The human body in a state of perfect health and fitness is a beautiful thing to behold and the work it takes to not just get there but maintain that state is admirable. I, for one, applaud those achievements. I wonder whether the prudes have ever been to the Louvre, the Met or the Tate...you'll see many more nudes there!

    I think it's quite easy to show off a lot of achievements with some tight ish clothing on maybe.
    But I guess showing off is what everyone's into, so there's no getting away from it.

    I personally wouldn't show my progress in that way, but hey ho I have the mind of an 80 year old.

    I was an *kitten* long before the Olympic ceremony, don't worry. By the way - your observational skills are fantastic. I hadn't noticed I was wearing a tank top. I've already told you why I think it's the same - it does the same job, just one is designed to get wet and the other isn't. So, again, how are they any different?

    I dont think there is any thing wrong with showing off what God gave you and the hard work you have put into to get your body where you want to show it off. I get inspired when I see before and after pics or just after it makes me think I can get there one day. Trust me when I think I look good enough to show some pics off I will

    I am not a prude at all I just think it is strange - people that would not post a bikini shot on FB put nearly naked photos here - strange

    It's because everyone here is proud of their weightloss and everyone on Facebook would just make fun of you because facebook sucks.

    I totally agree. Ppl on FB aren't nearly as supportive as ppl on here. Plus, FB (at least for me) is used for a whole other purpose.

    In addition to being damn proud that my *kitten* got 10 years younger-looking in seven months... If I'm going to be giving advice to others, shouldn't I have some amount of proof that I know wtf I'm talking about?

    I am finally comfortable to show my body,,I wasnt for years,wouldn't take my shirt off in public,I can't even find a picture of myself with my shirt off,,I also want to show people on here that weight loss is possible ,I hope to encourage anyone struggling with their progress by showing my progress.be proud of who you are..

    I'm German - we ware goiing naked swimming at the lake and sweating in the sauna. Have no problem with less clothes, it's natural. And at least - people are just showing their new bodys here - that's not porn. ;-)

    Clothing can hide a lot. Especially with spanx and such underneath them. So I understand why a lot of people post their success photos half naked.

    That said, these photos are available all over the net. If it were me posting a pic of myself mostly bare, my face would be blurred in it. In fact, my face is blurred in any photo I post. I like a little privacy.

    Strange isn't the word i'd use, my word is much more blunt, but yes it's noticed.
    I purposely avoid any pic threads not food related at work as last thing i need is to have a giant unsized pic of some individual in their UNDERWEAR on the network record so i can get fired.
