Started at 415 and now 297!! Lots of frustrating days and days I wanted to give up.. I could have lost a lot more if I wouldn't have fallen off the bandwagon a few times but the most important thing is I NEVER gave up..

I am going to start adding a lot of you as friends, hope you don't mind. I still have a lot to lose and seeing the pics and hearing the stories adds the extra motivation that I really need. Good luck to everyone

I feel discouraged sometimes too, but I spend at least a half hour a day shopping the success stories. I specifically look for people who were my starting size or have lost over 100 pounds. It REALLY encourages me! Also, I joined a couple group for people who need to lose over 100 pounds and for people who need to lose over 200 pounds.

Also, for anyone looking for friends in similar situations or on a similar path, feel free to add me. I am on daily and log everything. I started at 325, joined MFP at about 275 and am now at 266. My profile shows pictures of my now and also at about 310.

    Good luck ladies!!

I too go back to reading success stories on here. Especially when I feel discouraged. I have recently even started looking every night before bed time LOL just to remind myself : I CAN DO IT!

    BUMP!!!!

You ladies ALL look so amazing!!! CONGRATULATIONS to you all!

My highest weight was 361.8 and started MFP around 354. As of this past Friday I was 328.8. I know it is sooo frustrating and sometimes you just want to give up. But set up small goals for yourself and try not to look at the big picture!

I started at 289 in May 2011 and now I'm at 215. I lost the first 60 in five months and then I quit smoking. I've struggled to lose weight since then, but I'm still working on it.

I started at 256 lost 50 in first 6 months... have been slower lately as my meal plan hasnt been so clean.... but I am picking up momentum again.

I keep a list in the memos on my phone of all the things I have gained with the weightloss. Simple things that everyone takes for granted. ie: tie my shoes, a bath towel can actually wrap around me now, can walk up the steps, rings getting bigger, can wear an anklet.......etc.... it is things like this that remind me of how far I have come when progress slows down.

My trainer says a life change has peaks and valleys.... I try to keep that in mind! Good luck and keep up the good work!

I very much hope that you (and anyone else feeling this way) won't get discouraged. Believe me, I completely identify with the feelings of "I'll never get there," but as some others have pointed out, if you take it in small steps, it seems to make it easier. I've also found that doing this in a manner that is manageable for the rest of my life is beneficial. I've tried to lose quickly in the past by eating low calories, and eventually my will power cannot hold out because I'm hungry all the time. Find a way to do this so that you feel good, but you can continue to live this way for life. Allow yourself a treat once in awhile, if you want - you won't go your entire life without ever having an off day. I say this as someone who is still on her journey, too... I have about 80-90 lbs left to lose, so I'm right there with you. I've posted these in the past, but I hope that they will help you see that it is possible to change, and it doesn't have to happen quickly. All the best to you. :O)
