I just started myself.. I was having a hard time with the push ups... even the easier ones.. so I looked up some alternatives online. I do my push ups against the wall until I can do them on the floor. I have a really bad back and it was really hurting to do them on the floor. So at least I am still doing them!! I hope to be doing the regular ones soon.

And I'm on day 1 of lvl 3 today. Apart from the fact that I wasn't able to do some exercises too great because my floor was wet with sweat, it was easier than lvl 2 for me. Scary a bit. And funny. And made me feel good! :)

Ive just bought it! i'm a tiny bit scared!!!
  • Sorry I abandoned you, I had a complete collapse in motivation and healthy eating and have eaten nothing but crap for a week. I'm off on a short break Thurs-Sun so am thinking about starting 30ds again from the start and do it everyday like you're suposed to. I completed level 1 previously but there's been a massive gap in exercise.

I will get healthy and fit! :drinker:
  • I am half way through <took a two day break due to laziness ;P>...It has made me stronger...and many fellow mfp pals on 30ds are finding themselves get leaner...It is a good workout for 20 minutes!

And yes after 3-4 days of the same routine you do get bored...so if you have someone to watch your posture or your'e pretty sure of the posture and routine i would suggest watching a movie with alota adrenaline in it <my favorite is crank>.... This somehow pushes me harder n i barely realize the 20 minutes is up!
  • I've been doing it for over a year now. I've never really done the "30 day shred" in 30 days because I've always been fairly active (and I think maybe the results it proclaims are for couch to 30DS-ers). But it is a consistent part of my routine now. Often, I'll go for a 30 minute run, then come back and do one of the segments. Or if it's rainy, I'll do 2 segments (or if I'm really ambitious - all of them!).

I will say that I think Level 2 is the most difficult - I found 3 easier (I think it's the plank work!)

Just done day two of level one, without weights as I am going to get them later, and omg I ache. I have a very delicate lower back which is why I have started without weights and I also do box press ups until I have my physios all clear for others. Due to a problem with my abductor muscle in one thigh I can only do a few jumping jacks and then I jog on the spot. It's still killing me ATM, please reassure me that it does get better and at some point I will be able to move without hurting??

I have logged it as 25 minutes circuits..is that what others do?

Used 1kg weights as thats all i had, buying more at the weekend. Going on a cruise in 4weeks 3days, hopefully with a new bod. !!!!!!!! Oh i logged it as 20 min circuit. !!

when your doing the "butt kicks" dont land funny or you will sprain a muscle ... I just done this and now I can't exercise :((:((

ETS my weight started going down again after a 2 month stall and Ive lost inches also, I only managed the 6th day of level one before I stoopidly hurt myself and I cant wait to get back to it and see some massive improvements. :D

its a fitness program that will work if you give it your all I know this as I saw changes in just the first 6 days :)

I am half way through the shred, I think I have lost about 5lbs but only 1/2 inch, a little disappointed in that. I have found at my age I need to do somewhere between the beginner and advanced. My shoulders and knees have been hit the hardest by this workout, but I am persevering. I would not reccomend it to someone who has just started out in their fitness quest. I couldn't have done it right away I was so out of shape.

Had already completed 30DS from late July-August (only took about 3 rest days). Definitely saw changes in the inches lost (only lost about 2-3 pounds). Went back to walking some jogging as my only exercise (although I did do Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism a few times). I felt I needed the arm and ab work from 30DS and I wasn't getting it any other way, so I'm going to do it again. Day 1 Level 1 for me today and boy was it hard! I thought it would be easier since I'd done it all before, however it wasn't! Oh well, here's to 30 days again. This time I won't be doing it all in a row and will be taking more breaks.... I"m moving into maintenance mode.

Found my weights, they are only 1lb ones and I didn't feel much difference with and without.

I was exercising at 6:15 this morning, wtf is that about? Iam going for some sort of subliminal message on the tape..you must exercise...

I did a lot more stretching ESP of my shoulders this morning, I really don't think she does enough given how hard you work the muscles

Day 3 workout due this afternoon. My muscles say no, no, no, NO! Wondering if I should push through the pain?

Annoyingly, my 'exercise hives' seem to have come back too ... reminding me why I usually stick to swimming. Does anyone else suffer from this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urticaria#Exercise_urticaria

My Dr advised taking antihistamines shortly before the workout, but the make me sleepy =/
Hi, dont' know if i'm replying to you specifically and if I'm doing this right!!!! i used to get exercise hives!!! awful, had to stop running it was so bad....i took antihistamines at night as they make me sleepy and it sorted it out...once i did it for a few weeks it seemed to go and I rarely suffer now...

I'm on day 3 of lvl 3 (or rather I'm after it) and I enjoyed it even though I had to slow down on the intensity side (I think I've got a cold and had to skip workout yesterday). My weight loss is near to none at this point. I am getting frustrated, but I promised myself to stick to the program for 30 days of working out. I had some rest days of course, mostly one a week, but sometimes two.
  • I love 30DS! I don't do it continously like how she recommends. I do it 3 to 4 times a week. Been doing it for almost two months now and I am so much fitter! I moved levels when I was comfortable doing what Natalie was doing (the harder version of the exercises). I moved from level 1 to level 2 in a couple of weeks but it took me longer to move up to level 3 from level 2. I would encourage you to do it at your own pace so you get the best out of it!

Tomorrow will be Day 6 of Level 1 for me, and it gets easier as you go along! I can't wait to move to the next level :)

I started the 30DS a couple of weeks ago, the pain in my quads was awful for the first few days and I couldn't complete the whole sequence without taking a break....... But now I can do the whole sequence without stopping, I can also manage to walk m dog afterwards too. It sure does work because even though I'm not losing masses of weight I am losing inches and I am very pleased with my progress. Give it a go you'll be amazed how quickly you feel healthier

I'm after day 4 of lvl 3 - had to take a few days off due to cold or something like that. So if I keep going this week will have 'almost' done it by the end of the week and month. I'll have done 9 days of lvl 1, 10 days of lvl 2 and 9 days of lvl 3 :) Let's hope I can make it.
And probably after that I will restart and try doing it the harder way and maybe with heavier weights (atm I am using 1,5kg/3.3lbs ones).
  • I'm on day 9 of level 2 and not only do I hate this level, I'm feeling overall frustrated because I haven't lost any inches or pounds. I also look the same yet have been watching what I'm eating (for the most part!), logging calories, and doing things like zumba and pilates at the gym. Losing my motivation!!

I just started day one today! :D
It wasn't as hard as I'd feared (my fitness level is basically in the minus) but my legs already hurt, and I realized how pathetic my push-ups are. Will be interesting to keep this going, feels good :)

    I'm on Day 8 of Level 2.

I don't do it everyday, the shoulder pain drives me crazy (military lifts and v-rows) and I get pissed off I can't do it the full time.

But my abs, legs and upper body have all developed muscle mass.

I became super bored after doing it 4-5 days in a row. I don't know how people can do the full 30 days in 30 days.
  • As you know I started and gave up at the end of level 1 due to laziness. I'm fully motivated today and myself and my friend are doing the october challeneg to complete the 30 day shred this month!!

I started again today - I got up to day 8 on level one last time but injuried my back (unrelated) in August. I really haven't done very much since then not really pushed myself until today. Got up at 6.30am and started OMG forgot how hard it was at first. I even had my 12 year old daughter doing it before school.
I was just wondering what people put this exercise down as for calories etc. Cardi or strenght as it is both.
