Shirataki Noodle Beef Lo Mein

Am I the only one who gets a horrible stomach ache from these noodles? Tried them once. Never again... Sounds delicious (in theory) though!
I eat a pound per day and have never had that happen. I HAVE read, however, that people who don't eat much fiber have to adjust to these since they're rich in fiber.
I would give them another try but start with smaller portions.
Or build up your system by eating more fiber rich foods like oranges.

Umm...2 grams of fiber per serving is hardly "rich in fiber." (And besides, I eat tons of natural sources of fiber, I don't need to get my fiber from highly processed tofu that smells like fish.) It's the glucomannan in them.
If you read my post you'll see that shirataki noodles do NOT have tofu in them. If you happen to buy "TOFU shirataki noodles" you should expect to find some tofu in them, but shirataki noodles do not contain tofu.
Thats right... real shirataki will not...
But, I do like the way tofu-shirataki hold up well when I make a big batch of Pho....0 -

I recently ordered this type of noodles on line and have a cook book that came with them.These noodles are now my best friend! Its so hard to believe that they take on the flavor of your seasonings and are great! i have angle hair, fetta and rice. I have not tried the rice yet but the others are great so far. i tried spagetti sauce ,the sesame oil,low sodium soy, peppers, onions and felt good that I could log in on mfp with zero cal noodles! Thanks for these extra recipes!:happy:0

Mushrooms-Sliced Fresh - Mushrooms, 8 oz (28 g) (53)
Bok Choy - Bok Choy, 2 cup (70 g) (18)
Broccoli - Raw, 2 cup, chopped (60)
Generic - Green Onions, 4 stalk chopped (12g) ~1/8 bunch (12)
Kroger - Lite Soy Sauce, 4 T (60)
Kame - Oyster Sauce All Natural, 3 Tbsp (16g) (60)
Kikkoman - Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce, 4 tbsp (60)
Iron Chef - Sesame Garlic Sauce & Glaze, 4 Tbsp (120)
Generic - Large Egg , 3 Large Egg (210)
Total: 2567 calories for the batch
To make the sauce I just mixed the ingredients in a coffee cup and dumped it in.

What is the serving size? 1 cup? 1/2 cup?
It's a 6 pound batch that serves 6 people, so weigh out a pound and it will be about 425 calories.

The non-tofu ones do that a little more than the tofu ones. I just dump them in a colander, rinse with hot water, and massage them under the running water. They separate pretty easily that way!
