OK very stupid question but do i just turn the oven on broil and the broiler pan is the one with the rack that you put water in the bottom? I have only ever cooked the ham on that thing, sorry for stupid questions. this sounds wonderful!!!!

I just spray and use any baking pan no water. I had leftovers of this at lunch (with breasts instead of thighs)

I'm so glad I found this! I was just thinking that I wanted something different for dinner tonight and this will be it!
I'll be using breasts, too ('cuz that's what I have) and am going to bake them.

I am eating this right now... it's wonderful! Thank you to the OP! I overcooked my chicken breasts, so they're a little dry... but that's my own fault. LOL! Great recipe.

:flowerforyou: I cooked this tonight and my family loves it:love: . I cooked breast for myself and drumsticks for the rest. My daughter ususally doesn't even eat a whole drumstick, but tonight she ate 2! This is a keeper!

    Thanks

ps. I also made some garlic broccoli to go with the chicken

1 lb bag of broccoli florets
    1 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp low sodium teriaki sauce
    2 tsp honey
    1tsp cider vinegar
dash of cayenne pepper (or crushed red pepper flakes)

Mix everything in a pan over high heat and cook to desired texture. It almost tasted like the garlic broccoli I get from the chinese restaurant near my home. It was great!
  • I may make this Friday 1/22!! Sounds too good to pass up! Thank you!

Sorry not sure about time - I used breasts with bone no skin and didn't flip it....just baked it til they were done. Didn't broil.

I am going to make this tonight with some asparagus! I don't have a broiler pan, so I am going to use my George Forman Grill...I'll let you know how it turns out!

    Next Day:

I made this for dinner last night with herb roasted potato wedges and grilled asparagus! This was really good! Nice change to boring chicken.

    Ingredients

    1 teaspoon paprika
    1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
    8 skinless, boneless chicken thighs

Can I substitute garlic salt for the garlic powder and salt?

Excuse my ignorance, but when you talk about broiling, do you mean in the regular oven? :blushing:

Broiling is when you cook at a high heat from above. Your regular oven should have a broil setting where you normally adjust the temperature. Make sure you put the pan a little lower in the oven or you'll char it!

I made this last night. YUM!

I used regular old chicken thighs with the skin removed (myself). Baked them at 450 (because I was also making roasted potatoes at that temp) for 25 minutes. I turned them 1/2 way through and then a few minutes before pulling them from the oven, basted with the honey/cider mixture...waited a minute or two...turned again, basted again...a few more minutes in and then they were done!

Soooo yummy. For personal taste, I will likely reduce the cumin next time and maybe even the cayenne...they packed quite a punch!

I will try this mixture again....I'm thinking shrimp would be GREAT!
