So far this year I have completed 12 races:

    2 - 5K's
    1 -15K
    1 - Ten miler
    6 - Half Marathons
    1 - 30K
    1 - Full Marathon

Sept 8 - Parkside Realty Wears Valley 15k, Townsend TN
Sept 15 - Air Force Half Marathon, Wright Patterson AFB Ohio

    My favorite quotes:
    - Pain is Weakness Leaving the body
    - Sweat = fat cells crying

I have a couple of HMs coming up that I will treat as training runs. The two that I am building towards are the Dawn to Dusk circuit race on 25 August and then the Kaapsehoop (Mpumalanga, South Africa) marathon 3 November.

I love reading about what others are up to:) I just started running about 6 months ago and have found that races keep me motivated -- especially given the heat/humidity we've had here in NC this summer!

I've done 4 - 5K's and the Warrior Dash already this summer and have these lined up:

    8/25 - OrthoCarolina 10K
    9/15 - Hit the Brixx 10K
    9/29 - Tower of Terror 10-miler
    10/6 - Race for the Cure 5K
    10/14 - Kasey Kahne Foundation "5 Kahne"
    10/27 - Runway 5K
    11/17 - Color Run 5K
    11/22 - Turkey Trot 8K
12/8 - Speed for Children in Need 5K
    12/15 - Reindeer Romp 5K
    1/20 - Tinkerbell Half Marathon
    3/24 - Spartan Sprint

I'm still debating doing the Princess Half in February and also plan to hit up as many Disney races as possible next year since they are so much fun!

I'm training for 1/2 marathon on December 1 - Houma Hearts and Soles 1/2 in Houma, LA.

I originally picked it because it was 20 weeks from my then 20 week training plan.
Yeahhhh due to procrastination I'm down to 7 weeks.

Oh! Also I'm doing the Color Run!! In Houston on Nov. 11

Just finished my first endurance trail run event. 25k, approximately 16 miles, in the beautiful Ozarks surrounded by amazing fall foliage. Holy cow it was SO HILLY and there were 14 creek crossings! But I finished it with minimal pain and placed in the top half of my division. I'll definitely take that for such a challenging first attempt at trail running.

Next is the Fayetteville Half Marathon in early December. This one should be fine except for the fact that I'm vacationing for 2 weeks in the British Virgin Islands on a boat between now and then. That means not many opportunities for training and there will be lots of run. LOTS OF RUM! :drinker:

December Pub run... We run 6-7 miles with stops at 5-6 bars, the last being a party that may go on forever and forever. Here's the best part..the money raised is given to the YMCA but they cant publicize the run at all(even though we start there) because of the adult nature..all very secretive...people at the Y on the run day always are asking who are all those runners and why they haven't heard about it beforehand.

The race against life. Not official but one day I won't be able to run anymore so I'm running until I can't run anymore. It's an endless race it is but I like it. :D

I have these races paid for and scheduled:

5k weSPARK at Universal Studios Backlot
    10k Turkey Trot
    5k Electric Run
    5k Holiday Race

Looking forward to them all. Each has a theme or is a little different. The Electric Run is done at night with music and glow-in-the-dark accessories and the weSPARK race I get to run through the backlot of Universal Studios. Can't wait!

There is no such thing as "only" a 5k. It is a very tough distance to race well.

I have 4 5ks left this fall season. Will finish with Mistletoe 5k (Winston Salem) and Ragsdale YMCA Reindeer Run (Jamestown, NC) on back to back first two weekends in December. Back to back PR efforts.

I'll base build through winter and then likely do another 5k/10k season in the spring. Thinking about another marathon in the fall if I have a successful spring race season.

Amen to that. 5K pain is the worst kind of pain, when properly raced. I hurt worse the last mile of a 5K than I do in the last 10K of a marathon.

Because I'm coming off of (at least I hope I am coming off of it) Planar Faciatias I'm not training for anything just hitting the Arc Trainer and exercise bike.

    I have a 10K on November 10th I'm probably switching to the 5K instead.
    I have a 5K on thanksgiving
I have a 5K in early december, everybody who runs gets a santa suit to run in and then they light the big tree and have a parade.
On New Years day I have both a 5K and then a Mile Run. They are the first runs in two different running series I'm doing and in the case of the 1 mile run I'll avoid having to do the 10 mile run to make my minimum races for the spiffy jacket.

I started running this year. I did a 10K in July that ended with my running out of the giant inflatable patriots helmet and across the 50 yard line in Gilette. I did a 5K in August, the warrior dash and a 5K the next day in September, a 5K this past weekend on my bad foot and you can see what I have scheduled going forward.

I will be training for a 1/2 marathon come the spring once the snow is melted.
    Then a marathon in 2014, maybe 2.
Assuming I qualify the Boston Marathon in 2015. I'll have jumped an age catagory by then so I'll get an extra ten minutes to qualify.

Right now I'm really hating my planar faciatias. I got brand new running shoes (my first pair of proper ones) and got all exicted and ran 5 miles, 8 miles and 5 miles over 3 straight days which was probably the cause of my PF and not the shoes themselves. A proper running store watched me run and walk and then had me choose between like 6 diffrent kinds/brands.

I thought they might have fit weird, especially since they had me go a half size bigger than I'm used to but then I hated the first bowling ball that was fitted for my fingers because it felt weird compared to the crappy house balls the alley had out for anyone to use....
