What's your Subway?

I've wandered the "heart healthy" menu but oh my fuzzy christendom the sodium.
*THIS*
OMG, the sodium... the bane of my nutritional existence!   All of their breads are high sodium, but it's not just a Subway thing but a 'science of baking thing'. Even at home I use 'Tumaro' tortillas instead of normal bread. Hard to find locally, but I just found some more 2 nights ago after a 2 month drought. Flour totillas are horrific with sodium and I quickly fell out of love with the taste/texture of corn tortillas.
Anyway back on topic... when I just gotta have Subway and I'm willing to overlook the sodium :noway: , my fave is:
Roasted Chicken on flat bread, lettuce, tomato, green peppers, cucumbers, sweet peppers, black pepper, oregano, and either honey mustard or red wine vinaigrette.

When I was 17 ('skinny years') my metabolism was high enough that 5 (school) days a week I'd eat a footlong meatball marinara with cheese and damn near everything else! Never gained a pound! Youth is wasted on the young! Where's my time machine?!1 -
Subway to me is a cheat meal. So many carbs- like 3/4 servings at once.I've wandered the "heart healthy" menu but oh my fuzzy christendom the sodium.
Haha. Evidently I'm a) lazy and b) don't give a crapstick about sodium (I already spend ridiculous amounts of my day trying to get enough protein, not too much fat and not too much sugar and I figure the sodium I ate in my crap food years would faaaaaaar outweigh anything I could even hope to eat now, so I'm at least better than I was).
I often find myself ending up at Subway so as to avoid the *really* bad stuff / fast foods. Probably a naive view, but I figure of all the foods I could be eating, Subway isn't *that* bad...0 -
I like to lick "the knife" between customers, can't find the calorie count for that though!:bigsmile:1

I love, love, love the new chopped salad. I have all of my favorite vegetables and for protein I had the turkey breast and ham. Added a bit of pepper and for dressing, oil & vinegar. They put all of the ingredients in a bowl and sliced it right there. This is an awesome alternative if you're avoiding carbs and very filling and delicious too.0

always the same...wheat bread, meatball marinera, with provolone, cause there is no mozzorela.and TOASTED..nothing else, just that..0

BIG BEEF MELT IS MY ABSELOUTE FAVORITE!
Chicken Tikka sub comes in second0 -
Since I've changed my lifestyle - 6'' Italian with Chicken Tikka, no Cheese, Lettuce, Red Onion, Sweetcorn, Jalapenos, Pickles and Green Pepper.
My old one would be - 12'' Hearty Italian OR Italian Herb and Cheese with Chicken Temptation, Cheese, Lettuce, Red Onion, Sweetcorn, Jalapenos, Pickles and Green Pepper SMOTHERED in Chipotle Southwest Sauce and either Chilli or Mayo! :L0 -
I don't eat it any more as I've gone veggie but used to love a footlong honey oat with steak and cheese, all the salads, extra gherkins and jalapenos and Southwest sauce. Mmmmm0
-
Turkey breast on wholewheat.. No cheese, all the veggies and a sauce. Simple and delicious! But oh my sodium!0
-
Good old
Italian bread
roast beef
lettuce
tomato
onions
gerkins
light mayo
yum
but do like the beef melt mmmmmm not bad in calories neither0 -
I used to get just a Turkey, Cheese, Lettuce and Mayo Sub on White.
Now though, I hardly eat Subway unless it's the only option. After eating Jersey Mikes a few times, Subway just does not compare!0 -
I haven't been to subway in months...but in the past I would always order:
The foot long Roast Beef (half now/half later) on the multi grain roll w/
Lettuce
tomato
green pepper
red onions
black olives
pepper jack cheese
and "lite" mayonnaise0 -
Would have to be the meatball mariana with cheese on Italian, toasted with lettuce and cucumber or Chicken teriyaki on Itailian no cheese, toasted with lettuce tomato and cucumber with sweet onion sauce and mayo. My two favs... yum!!0
-
Depends on my mood.... I either go with:
6" Turkey on Honey oat
No Cheese
Lettuce
Spinich
pickles
salt and pepper
and mayo
or
6" veggie on honey oat
No Cheese
lettuce
spinich
pickles
cucumbers
tomatoes
salt and pepper
mayo
sweet onion sauce0 -
6" veggie delite, light on lettuce, more spinach, on wheat no tomato or cheese, with red wine vinegar.0

- Honey oat bread toasted
- Turkey breast
- Spinach
- Carrots
- Mustard
Super yummy.0 -
6" veggie (lettuce, cucumber, onion, green pepper) on white (lowest sodium/calorie bread), no cheese, no condiments. I call it my Boring Little Sandwich. When I get home, I dress it up with at least a slice of cheese (Swiss or cheddar). If I have sandwich meat in the fridge, I'll put some of that on.0
-
That's it... i'm mad.
We don't have all those goodies here (No Spinach, no avocado, no provolone and so on)... we suck...
So... For my sandwich, I go with my mood.
Either Italian BMT, Steak & Cheese... (I need to try the new Chicken Toscany!)
I usually go with everything on it but lite mayo on the italian and italian dressing on the S&C...0 -
I always get turkey and ham salad bowl with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, onions, picked and jalenpos with a wee tub of southwest sauce no cheese. Yummy0

It's not good, but then it is only 2 or 3 times a year:
6" Meatball Marinara on hearty italian with extra cheese, sweetcorn and peppers.0 -
I haven't eaten Subway in so long! Anything that I don't cook myself is considered a cheat meal for me.
But when I do:
Italian Herbs and cheese 6 inch (actually, I used to order a foot long unless I was with someone who I felt would judge my poor choices.)
Double cheese (cheddar and swiss)
Chicken Pizziola without pepperoni I'd make them toast it with black olives on it.
Then, I'd add a ton of spinach, to make it 'healthy'
salt and pepper. And then a lot of Ranch or Creamy Italian dressing.
I haven't had Subway since I've started dieting though. I'd probably choose something a lot healthier.0 -
Subway club on wheat with onions jalapeños, provolone, and lettuce. SO good.0
-
interesting to see that certain subways around the world have veggies such as spinach, carrots.. etc.. we don't get those veggie choices here
i get..

mozza cheese
lettuce / tomato / cucumber / pickles / banana peppers
chipotle sauce and marinara..

Oven roasted chicken on wheat with provolone, lettuce, spinach, green peppers, and a little chipotle sauce.0
