    That's the sad truth of the internet. The semi-anonymity brings out the playground behaviour in people. Trying to talk sense into a group of adults on a forum is as pointless and frustrating as banging your head against a brick wall. Ignore and move on. :wink:

    I consider forums for entertainment purposes only. If I have a legitimate question I usually ask people on my friends list!

    This is great advice. Add people who seem to know their stuff, and ask them your questions.

    I don't know what thread you are talking about, but something that happens a lot around here is people jumping on each other for posting blatantly false information. They are not attacking the person, but the idea, though some aren't the most tactful about it. I admit I've slammed Dr. Oz's theories pretty brutally, but it's because it really upsets me that he's allowed to go on national tv and pimp out completely useless products. Seems like it should be fraud. I'm not mad at the person, I'm just trying to point out that the dude is a quack. But then people get offended, and my point doesn't get made, so I find it's usually better to preface with something like "it's easy to be deceived, and I understand why you think this might work but..." so no one feels like its them I'm after.

    ^^ this. Also agree with the "don't wrestle with pigs" commenter. There's both good and bad in the world, and by extension MFP. Me, I just pay attention to the good.

    Also, OP, you're guilty of lumping EVERYONE on MFP into the same group with this "Shame on you" post. And certainly not everyone is guilty. Those that are don't care about your opinion, those that aren't just agree with you, which still changes nothing. I guess if nothing else, you got it off your chest. So small win for you, if nothing else.
