    Hi everyone. It is good to see you aug and jana. I am doing well. enjoying having my husband home to spoil for a few days before real life calls again, lol. So quick TMI close your ears guys, cramps SUCK, ok all better got that off my chest :laugh: Well I didnt do a tradiional workout yesterday but spent about four hours doing major housecleaning and setting up for christmas so I went ahead and claimed an hour of housekeeping on the execise tab. I never claim it all because it seems ridiculously high to me. I swear I could keep the cleanest house ever if someone would just come in and do the dishes for me. They trip me up all the time. I hate doing them but for some unknown reason when I go to clean I feel I have to start in the kitchen and there are those darn dishes just taunting me. Ok enough of the crazy ladies rambles. Lets see my goal for the week is to do at least 15 min of strength training 3 days this week and my walking workout on the other two days. I did the walking yesterday so today must e strength training. I promise as soon as the ibuprofen kicks the *kitten* of these cramps I will get started. Have a great day everybody and remember you can definitley do this.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

    Still working on the water! I had my last PT appointment today. All is well. I passed the balance test that they give with a perfect score. I'm so glad that I had this done! I'm trying to walk everyday for 30 min. My grandson loves to go with me. He's been begging to go all morning. I'm trying to put him off until it warms up a little.
    Need to vent and this is a safe place: DH did the laundry for a few weeks while I was in rehab and since I got back because there are a couple of stairs into the laundry room. I made him a list of how to do each batch. This morning he was sorting it and it was really bad, not like I showed him at all. When I got home from therapy, I told him that I could take over because I can now practice on stairs. I didn't like what I saw. He wasn't following the routine that I had given him at all. I'm not even sure he knows where the chart is that I gave him! Okay, so now you know that I am OCD about my laundry. I'll get over it, and I'm sure no real harm is done. I feel bad for getting upset with him. My advice to me and all of us it to be kind today. Kaye

    @morgori--hope you survive without the Mrs.! Don't let yourself succumb to the lure of that pub for dinner every night! :wink:

    There is a hockey game Thursday night which will have the Stanley Cup there for photos. I will probably have to go and while I'm right there I will probably have to go to the Pub for dinner. That will be the only night out to eat though as I gained another few pounds this morning.:grumble: :blushing:

    It has been 3 Sundays ago that I had a real smoke. I have been using an electronic cigarette since then.

    Morgori - good for you on the not smoking front. An electric cig is a good aide. Hey seeing that Stanley Cup in person is going to be a blast! I envy you! :love: Wish Ms. Morgori was around, but I'm sure she's doing well. Say "hi" for me. So you're up a pound, hmmmm.......well, make that stop at the Pub a short one, hey, and then get back to business, ya see, cuz Santa's watching ya, to see if you're naughty or nice! :laugh:

    I've had a set back in my polymyalgia rheumatica - the doc cut my prednisone dose in half and all my symptoms have come back twice over and for the past 5 days I've been hurting really bad and unable to move at all. Today he upped the prednisone back to the high dose and I'm to stay there until I see the rheumatologist specialist on Dec. 7th. I hope my symptoms will dissipate in a few days and I will be back to normal and moving again soon. Today my best bud and I went to see "THE LIFE OF PI" and I was so uncomfortable I could hardly concentrate on the movie. I've read the book and was anticipating a great movie - and it was, but sadly I was in such pain I couldn't wait for it to end so I could come home and curl up in bed. I DO recommend the movie, however, its top notch entertainment!

    Tuesday, Tuesday----where did you go? A day that just evaporated............

    Goal update: keep on walking BUT try to boost daily miles up 2 X a week. So the goal is 5 miles a day with a step up to 7 miles a day. I was just looking at the past 7 days is at 43 miles. I have one more mile to add before the evening's over. ANYWAY, I guess that's my continuing boring sameness---WALK!

    Wishing everyone well. I'm sure December may prove to be a tough month to keep all healthy habits on track.

    For those not feeling well, again, wishing you restored health.

    Tuesday Goals:

    Today was a good day. I spent the day teaching adding fractions with unlike denominators to my kiddos and they seemed to catch on, so I'm hoping tomorrow is even better and I can keep going without having to spend too much time reteaching. :)

    I went grocery shopping this afternoon and got some good stuff to eat and lots of frozen items to get by on so that I can just toss them into my lunchbox and go in the mornings. I will typically fix my lunch the night before, but have gotten out of the habit. Maybe I need to get back to that. Might shave a few mins off of my morning routine.

    My goals for this week are pretty simple. 1. Log my food EVERY day. 2. Exercise at least 4 days a week (C25K Training). 3. Get my house picked up and laundry done. 4. Lose 1 pound by the end of the week. I think these are pretty attainable goals. I'm starting small. Each day is a triumph. :)

    I hope everyone has a fabulous day and I look forward to catching up with all of you. Still trying to read the rest of the missed threads I missed. 40 pages is a bit to go through all at once, but I'll get there soon. Have a wonderful night! :)

    @robin--hope you're feeling better soon! :flowerforyou:

    Tuesday - Unfortunately, I'm feeling a bit under the weather. My son climbed into bed the other day and he's been battling a cold. Of course, I wake up ths AM with a scratch throat - not happy!!! I'm NEVER sick (knock on wood), but when I do get sick it normally knocks me really hard. I'm trying to drink tea w/honey, oranges, and sleep as much as possible. We've got the Great Santa Run on Saturday with around 12,000 other folks. I need to get better!!!

    Enjoyed reading everyone's posts. Glad to see folks back and see new folks join.

    We CAN and WILL do this!!!!!

    Good grief its past 10:30PM already and I am just now getting here! Still not feeling well and sleeping half the day away, so tired! At least tonight I'm not hurting as bad, praying its a sign that I'm getting better. I really miss my walks and Belle misses them too although my son was here today and took her for a walk for me. She hates going out without me and has to be carried out the door away from me! I was a little more hungry today so must be on the mend. My DIL was sweet enough to bring me a cheeseburger, fries and apple slice Happy Meal and a large diet coke! It tasted so good and I stayed under calories. My apartment is such a mess I can't stand it, I have to do something tomorrow, at least to get those nasty dishes done:grumble: Does anyone else have weird dreams when they are sick? I have been having some wild ones, no X rated ones, just weird. Must be sleeping too much. Funny how I can talk about so little:laugh: Guess the isolation is getting too me. Well, my Tuesday goal is to feel better and get back to walking. Talk to you all tomorrow.

    @nzenczak -- hope you're feeling better after your birthday.
    @spookytune -- hope the exercise plan is going well. happy (late) birthday and I hope the Italian meal was *wonderful*. I've been doing this for five months now, and I'm getting better at distinguishing between Real Celebrations (like my brother's wedding, or a special birthday meal) and Dangerous Outings (like your mates getting together for pizza and beer). I try to relax a bit for the big things and be very careful for the others. I find I can eat whatever I like on the days when I'm running though.
    @Tina -- good luck with C25k!
    @Aug -- It's brilliant to see you back. And yes, you're where you started, but you're not above that. You can get going again. And you've had lots of surgery to recover from. It's so good to see you!
    @Kris -- it's not really a backslide, is it? Just Thanksgiving. Keep holding on! One thing that running is doing for me is redefining the places that are within walking distance. I have found several parks I didn't know existed, and I now know the main place I play badminton is less than two miles from here. IKEA is only about 2.4miles, walking through the river park; when we drive it's about five miles. I'm making a list of everywhere that offers free tea and coffee with a loyalty card, so I can take the cards with me when I go for a run!
    @Tom -- I think it would take most of us a good long time to starve to death, really. Do keep your fluids up though. And try to plan what you're cooking, because I find when I'm on my own that if I don't plan it's too easy to just end up eating junk. Well done on the electronic cigarette. If you're gaining weight are you making sure to measure everything?
    @Karenleona -- good luck with the physio appointment; you're coming along fantastically well.
    @Vicki -- ooh if only I had MAGIC GREEN GLOOP for my breakfast... My husband seems to be having no trouble keeping his numbers in balance; he's going to hit his original goal this week or next I think (which is BMI 25, top of the 'healthy' band). I'm pleased for him but sometimes I just wish I could eat and drink as much as he does, or that I only had a few pounds to lose. I guess it's the difference between being 5ft tall and 6ft tall.
    @Jana -- Good to see you back, and well done for checking in. I really wish there were Color Runs in the UK because they sound like a blast.
    @Liz -- good luck with early morning exercising!
    @Patty -- *waves*
    @lmackbethi -- I don't quite manage 400 calories exercise every day, but I'm probably averaging 400 cals. What I try to do is 30 minutes every day; so if that's 30 minutes of slow walking for 90 cals, that's ok.
    @Tammy -- I mostly do all the cooking, so hubby stacks the dishwasher and kids empty it (but only if nagged). So that's not *quite* so bad.
    @Kaye -- I think when people help out with stuff, you do have to try to be relaxed about the things they do wrong!
    @nicholsvj -- Congrats on the SV!
    @Robin -- my rheumatologist is *wonderful*. I've been so much happier on the meds. Hope your specialist's appointment goes well.
    @Stacy -- everyone can play! Welcome!
    @Christine -- hope you're properly on the mend now.

    Tuesday goals: Still focusing on ONEderland by December 31st.

    Wednesday Wishes: I wish my daughter would clean up her room without being asked A THOUSAND TIMES.

    OK -- for the rest of the day I'm housekeeping; I want to really feel that we're getting ready for Christmas. I don't suppose I'll claim calories for it though. Hrrm. Let's see.

    Happy Hump Day!!!

    My Wed wish is that I could have more time for exercise.

    Today is my weight in day I actually maintained through the holiday weekend of left overs. By the way not sure I mentioned it or not but my turkey came out awesome. I just don't like turkey but everyone else liked it.

    Good Morning, all! I didn't mention that I did some shopping on Cyber-Monday over the internet. Now my credit card is curled up in the corner weeping, :sad: but it was a fun experience. I didn't have many gifts to purchase and I did get some great prices and free shipping. I think I'll do more of it next year!. Amazon seems to have just about everything!

    I am so impressed with everyone's exercise goals. What do I do? I think about it. I really do think about it. Then I make excuses. I get some walking in, but this latest health problem knocked me on my butt again. Now that its cold outside, my summer sneakers leave my feet freezing when I'm outside, so I need to look for some black leather sneakers to walk in, and to just look decent in. I have bad feet so I need to walk in good sneakers, like Nike or New Balance. So, I'm probably going to escort that weeping credit card to Kohls or Shopko and buy myself an early Christmas present today, if I can find the right shoe.

    Also, I need to keep burrowing through my packed spare room closet, for my Wii console. I need to get it hooked up so I can practice Wii Dance Party. I have all these great ideas for exercise. I have to get into shape for Jamaica Feb 27:blushing:

    I find it funny that today is Wednesday Wishes - I was day dreaming during my walk this morning about beautiful bodies I would like mine to emulate. And I was wishing for belly dance skills. Maybe it's time for me to start 30DS and/or some belly dancing classes!

    @BohemianCoast - I'm getting better at that distinction as well. I think as long as I'm exercising everyday I won't "forbid" myself anything I really want to eat. Just won't go crazy on portions. That's always been my downfall--portion control. Learning how to control those impulses helps and drinking tons of water because I'm usually to full now to do that!
    @Tina - good luck with C25!
    @Susan - Had a great day with the family. Stayed on track too!
    @Stacy - Welcome aboard! I'm new here too and love it here!
    @Robin - sorry you are in so much pain. Hope the specialist can find something that will work.
    @Christine - hope you're doing better!
    @nzenczak -- hope you're feeling better after your birthday.

    Happy Hump Day! My Wednesday Wish is I wish I'd win the powerball lottery tonight so I can quit looking for a job and do what I really would love--bringing the arts alive for children.

    Welcome!

    @Christine - Hope you are on the mend! I wish I lived closer, I'd be glad to come over and tidy up for you while you're ill.
    @Bohemian - I can relate about distinguishing between true celebration (Birthday/wedding and an 'excuse' to eat stuff I aught not to) it's not something that comes easy for me. Also, I'm not too stressed about those few pounds. The way I was eating I was aware that it was likely. I've already lost one of the lbs. It'll go.
    @lmackbethi- Right now I aim for -1100 a day Mon-Sat and -500 on Sunday from my TDEE in a combination of exercise and food calories (if any of that makes sense). That gives me my 2lbs per week average.
    @Robin - I'm so sorry you're hurting again! I hope they can figure this all out so you can be comfortable!

    Wednesday wish - I haz two. The powerball and for my mom to understand what it is I'm trying to do. I talked to her this morning and mentioned the lbs I put back on over Thanksgiving. Her idea was for me to "Stop worrying about losing weight until after Christmas" and I can "Start again after the new year." That it wouldn't be a fun Christmas for everyone at home if I spend the entire holiday worrying about what I was eating. Some days it's easy to see how I got as big as I did.

    I have super weird dreams when I'm pregnant. I know I'm not pregnant now, but I've been having insanely vivid and weird dreams. I honestly think it must be the MACA because it's designed to regulate hormones. It must have changed up my hormones enough that I'm having this bizarre and very vivid dreams. I don't much like it. But sometimes I find an idea for a new novel in it haha

    @Christine & Toots~Interesting things about the dreams. I actually don't remember most of mine, but have noticed that when I take melatonin to help me sleep my dreams are more vivid. Christine, glad you are feeling mroe like yourself.

    @Morgori~Hope you enjoyed the pub (although not too much). :wink: Great job on not smoking, I bet that electronic cig is helping a lot - a friend of mine uses those, it works out really well for her.

    @Robin~Sorry for your continued pain, I hope the increase in meds helps and soon. I haven't played much with my Wii in a while, so got out my Wii Fit the other day, I almost forgot how much fun that was! :laugh:

    Wednesday Wish~That all of those that are hurting or feeling under the weather are back to 100% soon. I would also love to win the Powerball (guess I'd have to play first though). Lastly, I hope my workout goes better tonight than last night - IT band was killing me with every strike while running, so hope it doesn't bother me as much tonight.
