I am a teacher, too. So there have been many.
Blaise Blue (like a blue blaze, I guess) was a favorite. This year Zae'Breon is the best. Folks, a random apostrophe is not unique. It's just not.
On the other hand, I've seen some really cute names. I had a Blessy last year and she was just as adorable as her name sounds.
On that note, my student rosters have been graced with "Wealthy", "Treasure" and "Eturnatee" (Eternity).0 -

I hadn't heard that study but it makes sense.
Yeah when I have kids, I would like them to have names that are a little off the beaten path... but not so far off that people think I was running through the woods tripping on acid when I named them.

That just made my life complete0 -
Felon. No joke. The mom pronounces it 'fallon' but either way. . .
I have a friend with this name.
Worst name I've heard?
Pinkamena Zecora Smith.
Don't get me wrong, I love ponies. They're adorable.
But naming your daughter after them is just.. what.0 -
Any male name that starts with A and ends with n.0
-
Sisters - Cherry Cake and Doll Dump. Just sad.0

My son goes to school with a Pimprenelle. My sister works with a woman named Euretha (too close to urethra for comfort). One of my all-time favorites is Chester Sprinkle, a name I saw on a direct mail list once. Always makes me giggle.
Oh, and my nephew goes to school with twins named Hunter and Fisher.0 -
Kid was named Demon...Pronounced De' Mon...what ever.
There was a very short, very round, very dark black kid named Fabio! Lol!!! True story.0 -
I had a doctor named Dr. Organ once! [=0
-
I always was bewildered by my coworkers Michael Hawk and Richard Head. I kid you not - real people. Richard was actually quite well liked.
WHAT WERE THEIR PARENTS THINKING?
I knew a Richard Head, too. Must have been a different guy though. He wasn't THAT well liked.0 -
all parents need to do the "yell test"..... pretend as if you are calling your kids in for dinner and yell the first AND last name.
A friends daughter was going to be named Tessa Cole until the yell test proved it sounded like testicle :noway:
ahhhhh!!0 -
My sister in law is called Shadow0

I worked with a Dr. Harry Ennis. It would have been even better if he was a proctologist but he was an OB/GYN.0
-
The city of Fort Wayne, IN had a mayor once named Harry Baals (prounounced Bales...but everyone of course said Balls).0
-
I hate names that the parents very likely just came up with "to be creative and unique". Examples of ones I've heard this year are Bayzie and Elektra (both girls). I also don't like all those new names that are just descriptor words like Hunter, Rider, Fisher, etc.0

Close enough (pun intended) wouldn't you say?
I've met a Link Pozo and a Dirk Grizzle0 -
in high school, there are a few names I will never forget.
Tropicana (Ta-piecey-a)
Hauttinawltou (Hottie-aw-two)
Shartwannia
Charkimmatly (Share-kim-mat-lie)
honest to goodness, I had to find my yearbook to spell these!
oh! and a girl from college
Stormy Waters0 -
I taught in the South and now am back in the North...
Sham'e (Sha-may, not Shame)
La' Paris
Proscha
Sable
Auqeis
Richane (a combination of her dad and mom's names Richard and Jane, she was a fellow teacher, Re-Shane)
But on a personal note I am J. Hancock (I sign EVERYTHING J Hancock)...so I love when the delivery guy says sign your John Hancock...hehehe!0 -
My nephew is Lykin...as in werewolf, only they wanted to spell it differently so it WOULDN'T be weird0
-
There's a few people that I worked with that had strange names.
Dustin Cox (sounds more like a hobby than a name)
Richard Stocker
Harold Sach0 -
my sister is a labor and delivery nurse, a woman had twin girls, Ragina and Vagina pronounced Va-jeena)...poor little girl...
WOW!!!0
