Do people not log fruit and vegetables?

I always log them when I eat them, but unfortunately, I just don't eat a lot of them.0

the calories in veggies are so low I often wonder why I bother - but I like to keep a record so I know that I'm getting enough micro nutrients. I'm particularly interested in my potassium/sodium balance so I can manage my blood pressure.
I can see why people would eat veggies and not log them. Fruit on the other hand, not so much - plenty of tasty calories to watch there.0 -
Just a though there are people who are ketogenic diet and strive for 20 or less carbs a day.0

It is a little harder to log veggies than brand foods in the food tracking app. I do log everything I eat though just so I can keep track of my calories. Maybe once I've been at this longer, I'll get too lazy to log everything I've eaten. I have noticed that by tracking every single thing I eat, I eat a lot less junk and a lot more fruits and veggies. I've noticed that the calories for fruits and veggies are usually higher than I think so I really have to pay attention to the servings because they add up pretty quickly.0

Before I logged on here, I tried keeping track at home, and although I love fruits and veggies, I would sometimes forget I had some and not count it. I am trying to log on here now to keep better track, but it's kind of annoying for me since I'm new to the logging to know which seedless watermelon corresponds closest to what I ate. Maybe others are in the same boat and figure f*** it. As for candies I just add a little over the number of calories I eat to be on the safe side.0

I log everything, but sometimes the fruits, and vegetables will be hidden in a recipe.
I had chicken noodle soup last night with celery, and carrots, in it, but you wouldn't notice, because as a recipe, it only lists it as "chicken noodle soup".0 -
I am one of the ones that has trouble getting them into my daily food. Some days there are none, and I wouldn't mind a helpful reminder to get them in as well as ways to do that. Right now I am eating bags of baby spinach, which is actually really good. Probably a new topic, but when people juice their veggies, how do we log that? They aren't really the whole vegetable anymore...0

i don't log zero cal black coffee and green teas, rest i do, veg and fruits do have cals0

I only started this a couple of days ago but for me to be accurate if I eat or drink it, I log it. Otherwise how will you truly know.0

It may just be a simple observation she's had. I don't see the harm in asking a wider range of people to see who logs what. Sheesh.0

If I eat it, I log it. Including the stuff that's not good for me. I'm big enough to be held accountable for my eating choices, regardless of how good or bad they are.0

Some people don't eat fruits or veggies, its difficult for them. If they they eat but dont log then it will be difficult to track their calories since veggies and fruits have calories, and the amount varies. I log everything I eat so to keep track of everything, and to avoid eating above my calories goals.0

I always log everything I put in my mouth - I just find it easier to make a recipe (for example a sandwich I normally eat with everything I put on, condiments included) and then if I add something new to it, I just add it in the diary and not the recipe cause they are harder to change.
I make curry and chicken pot pie and a bunch of things the same all the time, but when I alter it, I add whatever I altered to it as an extra in the diary.
Also, that being said, I have a lot of veggies in my recipe, but no one is able to view the recipe itself. That is probably why you don't see the fruit/veggies a lot of the time. :flowerforyou:0 -
I understand that this post was not aimed at having a go at people who don't log, merely wondering, so I am not going to go and tell you to 'ask them' But sometimes I don't log. For example, if its an hour until I am making food and I just want something to keep me going, I will have a few slices of cucumber! However, I also don't track pretty much all of my walking! So it more than evens out.0

Why don't you ask the people who's diets you're judging?
I for one log my fruits and veggies but then I tend to a reasonably good amount of them, I like veggies. (:0 -
Could be that these people are previous weight watchers as fruit and veges are 'free' foods and not counted ... tried to explain to some friends that they contain calories and sometimes quite a few but this is what they are told by weight watchers.0

I'm not sure why but people who were on WW usually don't log them. It's "free points" I think on WW, so that is why.
But, here's the thing, when you eat, say 5 satsumas that is 180 cals, and in the summer, say watermelon, it's a lot of cals too.
Veggies are another thing - they can be low in cals. Still I log it or try to. For instance, my green drink recipe can wind up being 285 cals - that is a lot of cals not to log in!
And it's got pineapple, orange, banana, kale, spin, blueberries, etc in it. So, everyone needs to do what they want to do but logging this stuff is better than not logging it - jmho!0 -
I log fruit and starchy veg, but don't bother to log more water-dense lettuce, cucumber etc. In some ways it acts as an incentive to eat more of the lighter veggies if they're "free"!0

I point out to people all the time that they don't eat enough fruit/ veggies/ dairy/ oily fish, generally they come back with reasons or excuses or admissions, they don't say they eat those foods but don't log them. Too many people going around MFP saying you can eat anything, eat a vitamin pill and stay under calories or pushing the 80/20 rule plus a cheat day without considering that is completely against current healthy eating advice. I don't want to be involved in an IIFYM witch hunt, many of those guys are encouraging healthy eating.0

I used to do Weight Watchers, and fruits and veggies were "free." So I don't log all the fruit and vegetables I eat, except things like potatoes.I view a lot of diaries that day after day list absolutely NO fruit or veggies. Do people just not bother to log them because they are considered healthy or do people really just not eat them?0

I follow IIFYM and have lots of fruits and veggies. Most of the peeps following IIFYM that I know have lots of veggies (some don't I admit).
Wow.. I didn't say people who follow it don't eat fruit and veggies.. I just don't agree that it's ok to eat junk just because you have leftover calories. I don't care if you agree with me or not. Junk is junk. . If I want junk, then I'll eat it. But i'm not going to excuse my junk eating by saying it fits my macros. Gosh I had a bit of summer sausage yesterday.. terrible for me whether it fits my macros or not. (and it did, not that I checked before hand) My excuse? none. I dreamed about that crap the night before and had to have it. My son ate the rest, so no more for me. Good riddance. It's not healthy. period. I also had IHOP over the wekeend.. it didn't fit my macros.. actually it put me way over and I felt like crap for a day. My excuse? None. I made a bad choice.
That's my problem with it. i can eat super unheallthy and fit it into my macros if I wanted to. It's thier perogative if they want to. It doesn't mean I have to agree with it or even pretend to. IMO it gives people an excuse. You don't have to agree with me., just as I don't have to agree with you. of course.. i'm not here looking for friends nor is my goal weight loss. So i guess I have a different view point then others.. not really unusally in my world.0 -

i log them - always sadly - a medium apple has 95 calories!!!! ughh.... supposed to be healthy. banana? fugettaboutit.....0
