The frappe recipe does take just like I went to my local coffee shop. I had one to toast reaching the 100 pounds down mark at this morning's weigh-in! Awesome - thank you.

    Chocolate Banana Smoothie

1 scoop Designer Whey French Vanilla
    10 g chia seeds
    14 g coconut flour
112 g (half cup) of nonfat greek yogurt
    1/2 cup 2 percent milk
    1 banana
10 g broma process unsweetened cocoa powder (I use Hershey's Cocoa Powder or Trader Joe's Cocoa Powder, do not use Special Dark or Dutched cocoa, as the reason I do this is for the higher antioxidant values in regular cocoa powder)

Blend all together with an immersion blender or stand blender.

Peanut Brittle Shake (got this one from bodybuilding.com)
    1 scoop vanilla protein powder
6 oz. unsweetened almond milk, or milk of choice
    3-4 ice cubes
1 tbsp. natural chunky peanut butter

This one looks so good, especially since I love peanut brittle. I may have to give this a whirl tomorrrow.

Sorry for dumb question but new to this. What is the "whey" everyone is talking about? Thanks!

Whey is a type of protein. It is supposed to be "fast acting". Whey is supposed to be good to use for peri-workout nutrition as it is a quick digesting protein. That being said. Much of that is also bro-science. It is not necessary, for most people. I'm not sure where it comes from. I know soy is usually from soy products. Caseine protein is from dairy, and is supposed to be good for night time, as it is the slowest for digestion. There are also a few vegetable based proteins. They each have different benefits, and reasons for use in diet, but most come from natural sources, as well. Protein powders are usually easier to use, convenient, and can be used in meals that to many would taste like a "treat".

Whey is a dairy based protein. Easliy extracted and processed.

My favorite Protein shake I have every morning is similar to Dr. Oz's Smoothie:

    1 cup FF Milk
1 scoop (1/2 serving) Chocolate Whey Protein Powder
    1/2 banana
    1Tsp cinnamon
    1 Tbls. Ground Flaxseed Meal
    1 Tbls. Psyllium
    1 Tbls. sliced almonds
    Sweetner to taste.

I am Hypoglycemic and I find that this shake holds my blood sugar so much better than if I had eggs and toast for breakfast or even oatmeal. The Flaxseed meal and the Psyllium increase the Fiber content. In the summer months I use the Vanilla protein powder and add strawberries or blueberries instead of the banana.

  • Advocare Muscle Gain - Chocolate
    All Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
    Water

Add oatmeal if you need to hit your carbohydrates.

You can make this a shake or use less water and make it thicker, let it set in fridge for an hour and it's like choc peanut butter batter...so yummy!
