  • My ex wanted me to get a little rougher with her once in the bedroom. I didn't realise she meant a playful slap on the butt and some gentle hair tugging.....
Boy did she moan about the kidney jab and the rabbit punch!!

I hate this book. Hate, hate, hate. The main character is a controlling, abusive, narcissistic *kitten*.
  • ...then another time she asked me to tie her up and have some fun ...

so I tied her to the bed, then went to the golf course ...

I have read all three books and I really liked them. :)
  • Couldn't get through more than 1 chapter. Badly written, rubbish in terms of actual bondage and control etc. Half the stuff is physically impossible. I'm as likely to read/watch that tosh as I am Twilight.

It's a spinoff of Twilight? Same characters at all ? I never read/watched Twilight either... Just curious as to it being a spin off.
  • E L James has also written a fitness book ... 50 shades of Whey ....

No it is not a spin off of Twilight. There are a few similarities in plot but that is all.

I started it and stopped a couple of chapters in. Wasted $10. Kinky fetish porn basically.

Not a fan. The only way I'd be interested in Christian Grey is if I was tying him up and whipping his *kitten*! lol

Read all three books in two weeks. Couldn't put them down. Definitely lit a spark again for me and my hubby. Recommend for those that like a little smut!

I've heard it's basically bored housewife "porn", and not at all based on anything that realistically resembles true BDSM or D/s... also, it was written as a fanfic spinoff of Twilight. I won't be reading it.

This. Twilight was a horrid fanfic in itself. Stephanie Myers is a hack, as is the author of 50 shades.

Erotica is erotica, and 50 shades, is not my kind. Skimmed through it, couldn't do it, but then again I rarely read anything written past 2000

I am halfway through the first book and have been halfway through the first book for a few months now lmao! I like the story line-ish, but the "dirty" stuff is...well, as an author, I am disappointed in it.

What's wrong with bored housewife porn? I'm not at all bored....or a housewife....or a wife at all....And I found it entertaining for what it was. If you're going into it expecting some great classic work of art, you won't find it in 50 Shades of Grey. If you go into it looking to be entertained, I'm sure your nether regions will love you for it! :drinker:

And its clear you haven't read the books as it has absolutely nothing to do with Twilight in any way shape or form lol

I read the first two books. Big mistake.

The writing was horrid. It wasn't even about bondage, more like emotional abuse. The main character, the female, was NOT strong. She was a weakling who turned into jello at the knees just because Mr. Grey was supposedly rich and hot. He was ridiculously rich. He was such a turn-off. The author tried to get 'shocking' and graphic, but it was ridiculous. The two bondage scenes were a joke...

There are several, several, SEVERAL lines that are repeated over and over...used, washed, rinsed, repeat...it was like reading the same thing over and over again. I read the second book hoping for some kind of...redemption, redeeming... something..all I got was a massive disappointment. What a waste of money!

I did look up spoilers on part 3, and am sooo glad I did not read it.

For the most accurate review EVER on all three books, I would suggest this site:

    http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/340987215

It's so freaking hilarious, honest, and on point. I was laughing so hard because everything she said was true.

    Horrible books. Lame, lame.

    "We aim to please."
    *gag*

This! :flowerforyou: The female character seriously made me want to punch her. There is nothing sexy about weak women!! Grey was a total @$$hole, he wasn't a dom, he was nothing but an abusive tool, to put it as nicely as possible
