I'm 5'10" and started at 210. I'm now at 142. I'm aiming for 140. I'm also 58 ... so it doesn't matter how young or old you are ... you can do it when you're tall. Feel free to add me if you want motivation from someone older than most here.

I'm 6'2 and always used the excuse that I was big boned. After losing 75 lbs......I knew that was NOT a legitamate excuse for moi. I did find 15 of those pounds again but working at losing them and then some. My goal is to lose 100 lbs and see what my body will allow afterwards.

    Started at 328! Ughhhh.

Good luck to all MFP Tall friends. Oh and what about the task of pants shopping!!!! LOL

I'm 6'1" and my highest weight was 330. My first goal is to get to under 200 and I'll re-evaluate from there.

Ultimately not concerned with BMI/Scale number I just want to be happy, healthy fit & toned.... and look smokin ;o)

WOW!!! This is super incredible because I can relate to just about every story on here....What a huge blessing to see this morning!!
I am 5'9" and started seriously for the second or third time at nearly 260 and now I am just pushing into the 220's finally and it has been a slow but steady process. I just keep telling myself to keep going and it will take time. This is a lifestyle change for me so keep it up and thanks to all the lovely tall ladies for such great inspiration this morning.....Smooches to all of :-)

I used the "Big Boned" excuse too - but after 43 pound of weight loss I realized I was just fat...kinda gets my goat when I hear people use that excuse now...

I'm about 5' 9" and currently 155 lbs... hoping to get to 140! I guess I have a medium build (according to the wrist size chart anyway). I find that since I'm already in the "healthy" range losing weight is like pulling teeth! I'm determined though - this time I will go all the way!!

Ok...I'm 5.10.5/5.11 depending on what time of day I measure my height...I started at 166..I am 57 years old....I got down to 152 but I keep going up and down to 155 back to 153, etc... I cannot get below 150...I would like to weigh 145 but it seems impossible....My calorie count thing says 1200 calories a day. I stick to that "most days"....I don't exercise every day but I do try. I am so frustrated. I wish I could keep going down and stop with the yoyo thing.

Want in on this thread! About 5'8", starting weight 174 current weight 164 goal weight a toned 140, but i suspect 145 is more realistic (I weighed 137 in high school before i developed boobs or hips and looked quite thin!) My doctor suggested I try to "never get higher than 150" but what I really want is to be toned and firm....not feel flabby. I'm getting back into lots of running so runners, tall girls, and happy motivational people feel free to friend me!!!

You can be fat and have a large frame, which some people call big bones and you can be fat and have a small frame. Unfortunately, people that legitimately have big bones get lumped in with people who use big bones as being the reason that they are fat. Big bones and fat are not one and the same.

Yes purplecharm, I agree. I just meant that I had to stop using that excuse for myself. We are all very different when it comes to body types and what works well for one, may not work at all for others. :)

    LOVING THIS THREAD!!!

So great to see how great everyone looks!!! You are really inspiring me :)

I'm 5'8. At my heaviest, I was almost 210. Currently at 191. The lowest I remember myself was 145 - I was 16 and pretty damn slim at the time (although I remember at the time feeling self-concious about my body) . I usually look about 20 lbs lighter than what the scale shows - similar to what everyone else seems to be saying... I even chatted with a cop once and he was 20 lbs under in estimating my weight lol...

My curently goal is 150s for now, but I will be pretty damn happy when I reach the 160s...

Feel free to add me - we can all use some more motivation :)
  • Hi! I am 6'1", and started (again!) at 385 lb two weeks ago. I am at the beginning of a long journey, but this time I am really looking forward to the process, not only the result... Can't say if I am big or small boned - once I can find some bones, I will let you know... :-). So, for now, I am shooting for 180 as an ultimate goal.

My first mini-goal would be to get under 350 so I can start using the elliptical again. (it's Ben sitting in my bedroom unused for couple of years now for the fear of breaking it, since it is only rated to 350 lb)

I do not have the full body before picks yet, but I'll take one today. No after pictures yet either, but they will be coming.

I am new to this site, but does anyone know of a challenge that is somewhat structured that I can join to help me stay on track?
  • I'm 5'10". highest weight was 282.2. I'm now down to 227.2. I do a progress photo every 10lbs or so. My default pic is when I was 238ish or so. Goal is to hit 190 and see how I feel about it. :)

Congrats to EVERYONE! Its not easy but its worth it.

I'm 6' even. I started off January of 2012 weighing in at 302 lbs. I'm now at 209 lbs. Still have more to go. I'm focusing more on my body composition now rather than weight. I figure that if I do that, the rest will begin to fall into place.

July 2011 (If you can't guess, I'm the big girl in the pink flowered shirt.)

I am 6'1. Now that's tall! :-) I started my journey almost 2weeks ago at 210. I have three kids. My boys were both 10 pounds and my daughter, who is 4 months, was 7lbs 12 oz. But I can't blame them for the extra weight. I lost every pound within a week of my daughter being born! My goal is 170, but I really just want to be healthy! I want to be a good example to my kids, stay healthy. I want to be the best I can be! Go tall girls!! :-) We are beautiful!

I'm 5'9" and love wearing heels, so add 2-3 inches LOL! My heaviest in my life was 275 size 22-24. After my first daughter a lot starting dropping off, had a bout of hyperthyroidism and dropped some more. I don't know exactly what I was when I started last summer, around the 230 mark, decided to start excercising but really didn't watch what I ate. I joined MFP in Nov, SW 224, CW 200.8 with 30 more to go. I do have a big bone structure so 170 should be just fine. No pics, don't know how to post!

This post makes me so happy!

I''m 5'8'' and just started using MFP last week. I weigh 150lbs, but I'm small framed so I should weigh 125ish. I don't think I've weighed that since like junior high, but I'm working on it! Dieting is easy for me, it's the working out that sucks! I'm kinda just taking it one pound at a time.

Thanks for all the inspiration ladies!

I am 5'8" and I started at 187lbs and 35% body fat. My goal weight is 145 lbs and 20% body fat. It has taken me six months and I am about half way to goal. I tend to lose weight really slowly. I have two small children and I do fairly well loging my food and watching what I eat but I suck at exercising. My plan is to join a local gym and start excerising on my lunch breaks in two weeks (waiting for pay day) and lifting weights. I would love the encouragement so please feel free to friend me.

I can't wait to share my success story with you! MFP has been the only reason I have had any luck doing this and I am so grateful for the wonderful community here. There are really wonderful people to be found and thank you so much for sharing this with me.
