Mon: 528 (180 on a brisk walk with the dogs, 348 at my favorite dance/weights/ballet bar/cardio fusion class... I just called it "dancing" for 60 minutes!)
Tues: 415 (My poor pups didn't get a walk today due to terrible rainstorm... Bummed that it also knocks my calorie count down! I did 10 minutes at home punching the heavy bag - 73 cals, 20 minutes at home lifting free weights - 72 cals, and 90 minutes doing pilates on the reformer - 270 cals. Today was a good combo of strengthening core, arms and shoulders!)
Wed: 761 (581 in a cardio ballet barre/intervals/weights class, 180 on a 45 minute walk with the pupsters)
Thur; Long, crazy day, so I just managed to get two tiny workouts in: 198 cals. (90 cals for 30 minutes of pilates on the reformer, 108 for 30 minutes swinging kettlebells.)
Fri: 908 (179 with an hour of pilates on the tower, 729 on a long walk with the dogs)

Hi I'm Laura. I'm fairly new to running so that is my main fitness focus as I work on increasing distance (speed will come later.) My goal is to burn 5500+ calories (and to run 25+ miles.)

Wed 1/30: 1224 calories, jogged 6.5 miles
Thur 1/31: 472 calories, walked 3 miles (rest day)

I may need to take an extra rest day tomorrow, I twisted my ankle. I think I will still reach my goal of 5500 calories.0 -

Fri: 1356 (409 vipr class, 615 spinning class, the rest walking to work and the gym).

Thursday........800 Calories........522 burned in a 22 minute treadmill workout...30% or higher incline for 12 minutes of the 22. 278 calories burned walking at a 10-15% incline for 25 minutes.

Tues: 138 (walking to & from commuter lot, 10 min = 1 way, walked & played with dogs after work)
Wed: 684 (running 8 miles in the AM @ 10 min/mile!)
Thur: 337(running with the dogs, walking around campus, more playing with the dogs)
Fri: 404 (legs, back and HIIT -- I upped my weights on my deadlift, squats, renegade rows, lat pull downs, and the leg press as well as the time of the HIIT)

Tues:1200 (Estimating on the low end for my karate class, because Sensei asked me not to wear the HRM watch anymore. Can't argue with that when your wrist is blocking people's arms and legs! lol))

Thur: 209 (The usuals... I was exhausted today and could only manage 15 min. )
Fri: 1200 (Estimated, again, because it's karate class night and I won't probably be wearing my HRM for anything other than warmups.)

Mon: 531= 35 min 3 m @ 5.2 mph, 15 min - strength training
Tues: 622= 5 min warmup, 50 min @ 3.5 mph/8% incline, cool down
Wed: 517= 3 mile speed intervals - 4.5/6.5 mph + strength training
Thur: rest
Fri: 336= 3 mile tempo run, cool down
Sat: 1082= 6.1 mile @ marathon pace, strength training

Everyone's goals are different and based on what we beleive we can acheive. I started at 3500 because that is the amount of calories in 1 lb and I figured it would be a good goal for me. I knew I would have to push myself to make it, but that I could if I really set my mind to it.
So my suggestion: Look at your average currently and add a few hundred extra to push yourself.
Another option is to set your goal at 3500 and push yourself until you reach it. Then add some more.

Good week! It was the first one of workout after a knee injury,so I did set the calories a little low ,not knowing if I was going to be able to workout at all.Happy that everything was OK and no pain!! Next week I'll bump my calories up a little...also excited that I got a new HRM,and so I'll hopefully will have a more accurate amount calories burned!! Have a great Sunday,everyone!!0 -
