I started eating a vegan diet 1/2/2012 (just over a year ago) and have lost a total of 30 pounds. I have 4 kids and even tho I'm trying to loose those last few pounds, I'm really focusing on toning and tightening up my body (particularly stomach, legs, butt, and arms...which is pretty much everything). I joined MFP after learning about it a few weeks ago as way for me to stay focused and encouraged. Love being on this journey with my new MFP "friends." I love sharing and seeing other's food journals as it helps me add variety into my own.0 -

I agree completely... it is causing me to re-evaluate my goal weight, too. But, at 5'7.5" ...I am holding steady at GW of 160 and just trying desparately to get there. I have hovered for many years at 180-190...and seem to be a bit too comfortable there...
I am hoping once i get into the low 170's....the new me will kick for the new norm.

I used to be super active until the last year of college, I gained 20 pounds in the last 18 months. I'm hoping to get back to 150 by the time warm weather is here. I have a hard time continuing to stay motivated after two weeks or so, usually because I don't see the results I want on the scale and I don't force myself to be patient and keep trying. I know it takes time so this time I'm not going to weigh myself as often as I have in the past. Once a week only Hopefully it helps!
How does everyone keep themselves motivated when they start feeling discouraged?0 -
Hey there chica! I was doing good until I moved in with my college boyfriend (and had to change my diet to share $$$ on shared meals). Two years later I was kicking myself at 159lb and have fallen on and off the bandwagon. It really does help when you feel like you have more control over what you eat (cashflow had been a problem).

bshuster: When i start to feel discouraged I just keep plugging away, taking it one day at a time. Even if all that means is keeping up on myfitnesspal. On the occasions where I can't do that, I try to stay consistent with physical activity.0 -

This is the heaviest I have ever been, even when I was pregnant I wasn't this heavy. I've been using MFP for 7 weeks and it has really helped me. I am "bottom" heavy and hate it, so I am hoping to lose most of the weight off my curvy hips. lol
We can do this!0 -

I'm a cone shape (swimmer's physique) who stores most of my extra weight in my midsection and upper body. My journey is primarily about strength and endurance (I'm a backpacker and mountain biker who's recovering from surgery and post-surgery weight gain). After losing the same 20-25 pounds TWICE now, I'm ready to get rid of it once and for all. I want to be my fittest EVER this year.0 -

I have goals for myself to track my calories every day, work out at least 4 times per week and to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Currently, I am doing a 20 yoga classes in 30 days challenge. Next month will be 25 or 30 yoga classes in 30 days challenge. After that, back to spin, and then training for a half marathon in August. I ran a half last year in 2 hours 44 minutes and although this will be a different one, my goal is to be done in 2 hours.0 -

Hello,
I've never been super active, but I want to keep up with my little ones - 6 and 4 years of age. I am so close to achieving my goal and I am aiming to accomplish it this summer. My calender now includes a designated time to hit the gym and its going strong! Keep in mind I work full time at a desk job (40 hours per/ wk) and I go to school part time (sit on my butt for another 10 hours per/ wk) so this adds to my challenge. Just making in 7-8 hours of sleep a night but I can do this!! I'm starting to feel good about myself again and gaining self confidence. My kids love to play with me, something I did not have the energy to do before, and its just wonderful! I think something that has helped me is that I always have something to do and I'm never bored...
