I'm thrilled to have found MFP! I have not lost any actual pounds yet but in 4 weeks here I've established habits of exercise and moderation. I'm confident I will find the right combination of calories soon and start to shrink.

Believe in the mirror and your pants! They are your best indicators of success. I cannot seem to lose weight soon enough but my energy levels are sky high and my pants are baggy as hell. Keep coming back...you will get to where you want to be because you seem to be on the right track :) All the best!

Cheers to this. I finally found a community about weight loss that's funny, has like-minded people, and knowledgeable members who don't screw around with correcting misinformation.

    Totally agree!! :drinker:

I don't feel like I could be successful without MFP. It's easy, It's free, It's full of great advice and funny people. Who the hell would bash MFP...morons I tell ya!

I have learned to have more common sense from mfp. When I started making friends it was because I asked a few people for advise and they gave me a humorous response. For example one person told me my special diet from a book was hog wash. Another person said I should offer my husband sex for pizza when I complained about him eating pizza in front of me. These people were attractive to me because they were saying something that I knew deep down was true. But I had read too many magazine articles and had too many real life conversations with "experts" about weightloss to filter out the truth. I am truly grateful for now reaching my goal and for knowing that these people who are strangers had my back all along.

I posted on the other post as well...but when I went back to edit/delete it, I couldn't figure out how!? (I'm a moron...I know!) I just wanted to say that I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong. I've already had a bunch of PMs from people offering to help with my TDEE question (and, yes, I had already used the search function...just was confused about some specifics and didn't want to start a whole post, because I was nervous that I had missed something and people would get annoyed with me).

Bottom line is that I take it back. I was wrong -- I'll admit it. There is a ton of value to be found on the forums.
(Hangs head and shuffles feet...I'd put in a GIF, but I seriously don't know how!?) :blushing:

I think it is like any site that becomes popular. You get a mix of the good, the bad and the trolls.

And fortunately for the MFP community, as the more active posters earn their three strikes and are sent on their MFP forum vacation, others simply fill in and pick up their slack.

    It's a great system...

    yes!!!! :drinker:

if it wasn't for MFP i would still be a cardio bunny, obsessed with the scale, eating a 1k deficit with no energy and crying while stuffing my face with processed, diet food crap.

    THIS!!!
