Hi everyone!! I'm starting a 30 Day Shred group (or other Jillian workouts you may have). We can check in daily, weekly, whatever works for you. Let's all encourage each other to tone up and slim down!! Who's with me?! :drinker:

I would like to start, my friend let me borrow hers. Quick question though: is there like a calendar that you follow or something, because I didn't buy the dvd myself but borrowed it?

The way I did it in the past, I took more than 30 days. I did 10 days on each level, but it took me about 2 months to do it. Rest days are important, plus I do cycling for extra cardio. My advice is to listen to your body and go at your own pace and we'll all encourage each other along the way.

I just bought mine and it didn't come with a calendar. I'm just using the good ol' mark system. One mark for every day completed :) Today was day one. :)

    Great job, cculver!!! Welcome!! :flowerforyou:
  • I bought my copy at Walmart and it didn't have a calendar in it either. I'm just tracking my progress here on MFP. Per someone else's suggestion, I log it as High Impact Aerobics then make a note of what level/day I'm on (ex. L1D2 today).

I'm in!!! I just started today. Good sweat/workout! I think, what I'm going to try to do, is do level 1 for 7 days and level 2 for 7 etc. We'll see how it works :)

btw does anyone know about how many calories it burns?

If you log it as high impact aerobics, 20 mins is 234 calories.

It depends on your weight and fitness level, but when I wear my HRM and compare it to what MFP says for circuit training, they were pretty close.

Welcome to everyone here so far!!! :drinker:

Would it be better to log it as circuit training instead of high impact aerobics?

I just checked what my calories burned would be for high impact aerobics vs. circuit training and they're within about 20 calories, with more for circuit training. I'd say they're probably both a good estimate.

I'm going to start today. I'm really excited to try it and I hope it helps with the weight loss! I have been loosing about 1 pound a week and although I know that's the healthy way to do it, I would still like to get more off that that! So here goes!

Well, I was going to start it tomorrow but had some time so started today. It's definitely hard to get use to coming from ChaLEAN Extreme. Now I have to get use to someone elses teaching style!

Welcome, everyone!!! Congrats to those of you have already Shredded today! I'll be doing it tomorrow. Planned on doing it today, but did some household painting instead. As for my Shred schedule, I plan on mixing it up and doing 2 or 3 days on each level and keep repeating.
Good luck, everyone! I'll be back tomorrow! :drinker:

Good evening, ladies!! Checking in for today... I did Level 1 and then decided to do level 2  . I definitely got a good burn today!!

Welcome lolyno and KandiT! :flowerforyou: KandiT, I log it as circuit training. It's within about 20 calories of what my heart rate monitor says. It seems to be a pretty good estimate, at least.

Great job, dhorton!! It's a butt kicker alright! :drinker:

I hear the same thing about No More Trouble Zones. I'd like to try that one of these days. I actually just ordered her Yoga Meltdown. I'm a little scared! :noway:
  • Just worked a 12 hr shift at the hospital, in which I walked like a drunk all day long. My quads hurt bad! I need some motivation to complete L1D3 tonight. My head is saying "just do it!" but my body won't get up, LOL!

I am in! Shred me!

Just dusted off my copy and have it layed out ready to start tomorrow. My goal is to do it 3X week along with cardio. Her teaching style is a little "gruff" but it is probably just what I need! I will probably mix up the workouts like Sky. I just get bored easy! Good luck all....Shred on!:flowerforyou:
