    Tomorrow will mark 10 years married to the most wonderful man I know. He was my high school sweetheart. He was the one I "grew up" with. He was the man who stood by my side through 9 years of infertility. And subsequently, he is the the father of our son.

    He is also the man who watched me get bigger, while I watched him do the same. Over the years, we gained a lot of weight together. Eating out, eating anything we wanted, making excuses together. Being very inactive. Well, this all changed about 2 years ago. Starting with him.

    In the past 2 years, my husband has lost around 100 pounds

    In the past 1+ year, I have lost 75 pounds

    I look back on the years we've spent together, and I'm filled with mixed emotions. The damage we did to ourselves through years of unhealthy living, which in turn led to stress, depression, lack of intimacy, caused a strain on our marriage. BUT, we have been able to mend much of this through our journey over these past 2 years. Getting healthy has given our marriage the new life it needed.

    To celebrate our new life, we are doing an Olympic duathlon in September... he is a cyclist and I am a runner :drinker:

    This will sound bad but I am a little jealous. You are lucky your guy will do this with you. Mine won't and I never felt I had any support either during my loss. Enjoy it. Very happy for you both. It's the way it should be.

    Truly Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. I have been with my hubby since highschool (1996) and we have also gone thru ups and downs. We joined the gym in January with our 2 kids and we are also taking our health seriously now. Friday nights used to be wild and crazy..now we are at the YMCA getting our sweat on..haha

    Congrats on your amazing journey together. You both look AMAZING!!! You two are my new inspiration :-)

    Your story was very inspirational. Doing it together is awsome. My husband is also my high school sweatheart but im the only that gained the weight 4 boys in 5 years was a little bit to muc for this body to handle. Then i just comtinued to gain weight. But im on the right path and even though my husband isn't doing it with me he is certainly helping my along the journey. LOVE YOUR STORY!!!!!!

    Amazing transition and story that you stayed together, infertility is tough. As a maternal-child nurse watch out that those infertility issues don't disappear with so much health and happiness in your life, although I'm guessing that you would be happy to have another:) I have seen it happen countless times!
