Thank you banks. Glad I scrolled down and read about phase #6. I've been yoyoing my entire life. Five times I've lost over 40 pounds, twice being over 70. It seems I get to the magic number I want to see on the scale and stop for a month, then put things into reverse and zoom back up to where I was at or even more.
But for the first time ever I'm including the nutritional and portion control components, not just massive amounts of excercise and a short term, unsustainable 'diet'.
The assistance I am getting from MFP is what I always lacked. It keeps me accountable and gives me confidence. When I hit the enter button at the end of the day and see what I will weigh in five weeks truly makes me smile.0 -

Great post. I am at that place where it would be easy to get complacent and let all my hard work slide. My determination is greater than ever to keep going and lose five more pounds and really shape and tone. This is a new way of life for me!! :flowerforyou:0

I'm so glad I came across this. I'm leveling out of phase one, I believe. It's already getting me to think ahead past stage two when I'll need to consider changing up the workouts to lose that last ten or so0

I enjoyed this thread alot. Very useful and true information. I am at stage 5 right now. I have been at this weight more or less just a couple pounds for 4 months now. I would like to loose those 10 pounds but it seems like it is taking forever. Not given up on hope though.0

At some point I'd like to rewrite this one. It's kind of a favorite for many folks out there in MFP land, but I wrote it very early on, and I think there are a few points that I could amend and improve upon (and completely remove). Plus some of the timing isn't right for everyone. It's minor things, but still, I wouldn't want anyone thinking they are doing it wrong just because they are two weeks or a month off from the predictions I make (and that's all they are, educated guesses based on a lot of anecdotal evidence).0
