this looks like a trick question, as the true answer is "none"
^ This. Black and blue/Pittsburgh style and only with salt, pepper and perhaps rubbed with some fresh garlic0 -
Do you cook it with ketchup, or do you put the ketchup on after it's cooked?
strictly for dipping my well done charred steak into.0 -
What is the best ketchup to enhance the flavor of a steak?
If it needs ketchup to enhance the flavor, then throw it away because it is not a good steak!
Try marinating in Worcestershire sauce at room temperature and then season with Seven seasoning before grilling. It is the seasoning that they use at Saltgrass steakhouse. It can be found at Kroger's and some Brookshire Bros. if you have them there.0 -
I thought we had a great love affair . . . until I read this. I'm going to go rock myself in the corner out of horror and disappointment.0

SWOT POSTAOTOS!
do you mean SWET PERTATERZ?
putting SWET PERTATERZ on the steak??
then what would you put on the SWET PERTATERZ???0 -
Are there different kinds of ketchup?? different brands, yes, but that is just preference.
I also like ketchup on my steak - has nothing to do with how good the steak is or not, I just love ketchup on everything.0 -

Pittsburgh style, drop the black and blue (I know what you mean, but this could be misconstrued as blackened with bluecheese . . . just no), sparcely season and rub hard.0 -
A pinch of salt, a bit more pepper. Nothing else if it's cooked correctly.0

Ah so you mean pork steaks not beef steaks.
You can have ketchup with those.0 -
There is no such thing. Ketchup is for hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries. If you are not going to eat your steak the way God intended (med rare, kosher or sea salt, perhaps freshly ground pepper,) just don't.

As a long-time ketchup freak (I've eaten ketchup sandwiches), even I shudder at this. I'd say troll level 8 has been achieved.0

ALWAYS rub it hard
Edit: And yea. No. Black and blue is definitely not with blue cheese. Just depends on area you are in as to what the waiter will understand.0 -
none, there is absolutely NO ketchup on this planet that can make steak taste better than it already does, you just have to learn to cook it correctly0

Is this... a joke?0

Who puts Ketchup on steak! My dad always taught us steak had a flavor to savor not cover!
However, if you wanted to make a ketchup try:
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste;
2 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice;
1/4 tsp dry mustard;
1/3 cup water;
1/4 tsp cinnamon;
1/4 tsp salt;
1 pinch ground cloves;
1 pinch ground allspice;
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper, optional;
Preparation
Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk well to combine. Refrigerate overnight to let the flavors develop and enjoy!0 -

Leave out to reach room temperature.
Season with salt and pepper.
Add a knob of butter shortly before taking out of the hot pan.
2-3 minutes each side depending on thickness.
