    Low Calorie Pancakes Recipe

Makes 17 servings low calorie pancakes: 26 calories per serving. With the calorie content so low you can add blueberries for a sweet treat, cheese and chives and salmon for a savoury treat or just have plain alongside whatever else you are having. I really like it with a shake of cocoa powder and a teaspoon of low cal fig and ginger jam. Enjoy!

    Ingredients
    3/4 c. cake flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. skim milk (I actually use 2% milk so each pancake is more like 30 calories each. )
    2 egg whites
    Directions
    1. Sprinkle dash of salt on egg whites and beat until stiff, but not dry.
    2. Add milk to flour and salt. Beat until smooth.
    3. Add baking powder and beat a few seconds more
    4. Fold in beaten egg whites.
    5. Pour into the pan and turn once. Should be golden brown.

What is a "serving"? 1/4 cup?
  • Is this US cup measurements?

would like to try these but what is one serving. Like one poster said above with only 3/4 cup of cake mix and 16 pancakes a single serving must be really tiny:-)

    Bump! Thanks!
  • I double checked the calories and this is wrong. Cake flour has some of the most calories out of all flours. These are about 100; maybe more.

    Thanks
  • I made a third of this recipe, and make 3 large pancakes out of it. So I'm guessing around 60-80 calories each maybe cause I added dark chocolate. I had 1 and half and shared the rest with my partner, absolutely lovely for an evening snack or desert after dinner :) went nicely with my peppermint tea

I love pancakes but never seem to get enough while watching calories until I tried this healthy add in. I ground up around 4 ounces of cauliflower and one packet of stevia ( I used a Ninja) until very fine. I then added one egg white and blended longer. I added this to 1/3 cup of walmarts great value extra fluffy pancake and waffle mix ( 140 calories) and more water to get the right consistency. I sprayed my grill with pam and cooked them like regular pancakes. I topped them with spray butter and sugar free syrup. So you get 6 nice yummy pancakes with syrup and all for 200 calories. Not to mention you get your veggie in a not so healthy meal.

  • Hey I love the recipe and LOVE pancakes! But do you just put the batter directly on the pan? Or is there a certain oil or fat to use so it doesn't stick? By the way I'm SO going to try this tomorrow morning. Making it for the family~!
