Finally recovered from having my teeth out. It really wasn't so bad. I did gain about 5-6 lbs during recovery (mostly water weight from sodium, and waste weight from constipation due to a poor diet and lots of pain meds). The extra weight has almost completely come off this week, though, I'm back on my healthy eating and regular exercise schedule, and am looking forward to blasting through some good poundage over the next few weeks!!
There is nothing to make you appreciate a healthy diet more than being forced OFF of it for a week. :laugh:

Found out my sister and her family are going in August. i am so jealous but will let you know what they thought of it.
Doing good with exercise and trying really hard with diet but that's the hard part for me!

I have trouble with my diet, too. I have a HORRIBLE sweet tooth. As long I don't bring the sweets into the house, I'm okay. But if I or my husband bring it home -- I WILL eat it. What are your diet issues, and in what ways do you combat them?0 -
I am addicted to salt. I crave potato chips. And the funny thing is before I started to want to lose weight, I never craved potato chips. So, I allow myself some two times a week at lunch. It is my reward to not overdue it and I keep it to one serving. I also LOVE chocolate and have to have some everyday. I break off a piece about the size of a Hershey's kiss. But I also struggle and overdue it, especially on the weekends. I always go over my calories on the weekend. But every Monday I get back on track and try again.0

Not enough exercise + going over cals pretty much every day this week = NO LOSS. I can do better than this. I NEED to do better than this.
I'm thinking of cutting out the last bits of processed foods I've been allowing myself -- frozen yogurt, Parmesan cheese, no more than 1 serving whole wheat bread per day (otherwise sticking with oatmeal, brown rice, etc. for my grains.) Also, a big one -- I need to STOP ordering pizza. I don't even LIKE pizza anymore. It's nothing but fat and sodium and refined carbs. It's not that often -- but it's often enough.
This weekend is going to be a challenge -- the hubby and I have social outings planned for dinner time Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Saturday night will be manageable -- I know someone is bringing a veggie tray, and we are supposed to supply a side, snack or dessert -- which I can make sure is something healthy. Sunday is brunch with one of the hubby's professors, and I have NO IDEA what will be served -- I just need to plan on watching my portions.
I know what I need to do to get the scale moving again. I just need to implement it, and be consistent!0 -
Can I join I LOVE HP. Read all of the books too many times to count. The Half Blood Prince came out around my birthday and my only wish was to have a full day to read it with out any kids around LOL. I am beyond excited for the movie(s), but will be really sad that they are over. I felt the same way when I ended DH (book) :sad:
Ok, my exercise consists of 2 hours of Irish step dance once a week, with 20-30 minutes of daily practice. I am also doing some yoga at home as well as strength training. We actually own an eliptical machine, but I get so bored on it...Irish dance is fun, and I could do it all day, but can't last 30 minutes on an eliptical??? I am trying to keep my calories at my alloted 1380, but find it really hard to not go over (especially on days that I don't exercise for some reason, you would think it would be the opposite). I am hungrier on days that I don't burn off a ton of calories, and not really hungry on the days I do. Soooo, sorry for the novel....Nice to meet you all I don't have a huge amount to lose, but I lose weight very slowly, so I should be at my goal by 11/19!

Alright, it's a little late, but I'm joining in!
Right now, I'm ~158 (I'll get an official weight when I go somewhere with a scale!) and my goal weight is 128, so I'm going for 30 pounds in ~8 months! Which is just about four pounds a month.
I'll reward myself with a brand new, gorgeous outfit for the midnight showing. :happy:0 -

I'm either retaining water from a change to my exercise routine (switched from at-home DVDs to full-time at the gym -- more challenging and higher calorie burn) or I'm just plateauing. I'm losing inches still, so I know I haven't completely stalled out. It'll pass soon.0 -

Changed my goals slightly because the weight is just not coming off very quickly. I'm going to be adding in 50 cals a day per week until I'm eating back ALL of my exercise cals, and see if that makes a difference.0 -
Went to the movies the other day and was hoping to see a trailer for DH but was disappointed, especially since the movie was in 3-D and so is DH.
How is everyone doing? My sister and family are going to Universal next week so I will report when I hear how it went. I heard the lines were atrocious. Hopefully, that will not take away from the experience for them.0 -
Oh man! I just joined and a weight-loss group with a focus on Harry Potter? Count me in!!!
I suppose by November of 2010 I want to be at around 200, which will be the thinnest I've been since the film release of Azkaban0 -
Looks like this is a bit dormant, but I'll jump in anyway! I am SO excited about Deathly Hallows. Anyone have a guess as to wear they'll put in the break between the two movies?
I'm just getting started here, November 19 is a little less than three months away, so I'm going to say I'd like to have lost 15 more pounds by then, putting me at 170.0 -

I meant to post to all after my sister and her family went to Universal Studios and got the see the Harry Potter Park. She said the lines were horrible (no surprise) but the boys (14 and 11) both enjoyed it. The 11 year old said some of it was even a little scary. Sounds like it was worth the wait. I really want to go but am going to wait until my boys are a little older to enjoy and remember it.0 -
I wish there was some MAGIC that would make the lines disappear and the whole experience could just be enjoyed. :laugh:0
